This one was bad
Lollylovesmovies22 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Sorry but this one was a real stinker. The acting is bad. Really bad. The script could have been good but wasn't. I think the little girl was the best actor on the show and the dogs. The dogs did a good job. Some rando tries to pick up her little girl and nothing is ever mentioned of it? What? Being stalked, but it's no biggie??? It was unbelievable. I didn't expect a big budget movie but come on this was ridiculous.

Predictable
Richiecass28 May 2021
Like many of these Lifetime thrillers, the stage is set early and the characters who are the significant players are introduced early; it was unfortunately pretty obvious what was what far too early. In other words, no surprises and turned out as expected.

Not bad

Lifetime movies are a genre unto themselves and this is a decent example of the genre. For me, the movie loses points on its odd (and shockingly ridiculous) premise, but other than that it's an entertaining watch for fans of lifetime movies.

Just a terrible movie all around
scarletepilogue3 August 2021
This is just a horrible movie all around. The acting is atrocious; whoever did the casting for this movie did a horrible job bc the main character/actor is not a good fit for this movie (off topic, the woman's voice makes my skin crawl). It is actually almost unwatchable. No one would actually behave this way and if someone's family or children was threatened/watched/stalked, I would imagine more measures would be taken than what happened in this headache of a "movie". It's a waste of time; if you want to wonder what horrible casting/acting looks like then watch this one.

lizgurl-9741229 May 2021
I never leave reviews and 99% of lifetime movies are watchable, some better than others but this movie was a total snooze fest! Boring and worst acting I've seen in a while really dissapointing.

Is she stupid or naive?
bama111117 June 2021
I honestly named the killer in the first 10 minutes, possibly less. I have, over the years, seen some very credible Lifetime movies but this may be the worst I have ever seen.

The story is incredibly unbelievable and the main character has to be either very stupid or very naive. There are at least a half a dozen times I said "call 911".... and, of course, she didn't. And, according to the story line, she has never lost a case.

As for the other story thread, another "call 911" situation, she treats it as no big deal, even though it can involve a danger to someone close to her, as well as she, herself.

I blame my criticism on the script and I always finish movies I have started. That said, I came close to shutting this one down. If the story is too hard to take seriously, the rest of the viewing experience is bound to suffer.

Would prefer to award it zero stars

It's to be expected that a "Lifetime Movie" will be predictable, of modest budget, and a way to burn two hours of one's life. But this is bad. Really bad. The Canadian director shot this in Norman, Oklahoma area and by all appearances locally rented his cast, equipment, props, and wardrobe after his arrival. With the exception of the two principal actors (referring to them as actors is being kind) the rest of the cast don't look to have ever delivered a line of dialogue in a school play. This entire production is an embarrassment to the craft of acting and filmmaking.

A Role Model
lavatch29 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Annie Sagan is a widow and a single mom. She landed a dream job as a prosecutor who comes to discover that her colleagues are worse criminals than the people she is trying to prosecute.

Early in the film, Annie goes out for a drink with the sleazy attorney Doug Larson. Larson is her adversary in the current trial of an unsavory defendant, and he promises to give Annie information vital to the case. Instead, his goal is to seduce her. At the Scratch bar, Larson gives Annie a roofie and takes her to his home where she passes out. During the night an intruder breaks into the house and murders Larson.

After Annie refuses to disclose her whereabouts that evening to the authorities, she realizes that she is guilty of "appearances of impropriety" and may be disbarred. The race is now on for Annie to discover the identity of the killer of Larson and to clear her name. She works with a lazy police investigator named Mark Evans. Apparently, Annie and Mark were once romantically inclined. But now, she will come to know his true colors, and it is not a pretty picture.

The screenplay was cleverly devised around the conceit that Annie was a better attorney than Doug Larson, who was a shyster and blackmailer. She was also a better investigator than Mark Evans, who was a pathological liar and a murderer. And she has the potential to be a better jurist than Judge Miller, who fixed cases and paid hush money to his blackmailer. The plot unfolded around clues from Larson's code used to keep secret the names of those he was blackmailing. The code was in the form of initials (or acronyms) for famous authors, such as George Eliot and Stephen King.

The film's heartfelt denouement demonstrated that Annie was a great mom, who strove to become something that is becoming more and more rare in our world today: a role model.

Warning: Spoilers
Why does the fact that this women got raped never come up in this movie???? That should honestly have been the first thing that was addressed when she called the cops and ended the movie early.
