William Gibson in Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
In 1987, cyberpunk master William Gibson penned an Alien 3 script that would ultimately never be used. First Photos from Tales From The Hood 2
Tales From the Hood 2 will be making its world premiere at Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival on Friday, July 13th. Ahead of the upcoming premiere, we have a look at the first photos from the new anthology horror movie:

Horror is back in the hood! The sequel to the groundbreaking original film Tales From The Hood reunites executive producer Spike Lee (Honorary Academy Award® winner) and writers/directors/producers Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott for an all-new gripping, horrifying and oftentimes devilishly comical anthology. Keith David stars as a contemporary Mr. Simms to tell bloodcurdling stories about lust, greed, pride, and politics through tales with demonic dolls, possessed psychics, vengeful vixens and historical ghosts. Mr. Simms’s haunting stories will make you laugh... while you scream.

With its openly political bent, it’s no surprise that Tales From The Hood 2 has Spike Lee as an executive producer. Original 1995 Tales From...

Jeepers Creepers 3 Trailer #2 Has the Creeper Back on the Hunt
Jeepers Creepers (2001)
Screen Media Films has released a new trailer for Jeepers Creepers 3, which will get a one-night-only theatrical release from Fathom Events in theaters nationwide September 26. This trailer is a full minute longer than the first trailer that dropped two weeks ago, giving fans a better look at the iconic Creeper (Jonathan Breck), and those in the small town who band together to put an end to the Creeper's reign of terror once and for all. While we still have a few weeks left until this special event, there has already been plenty of controversy swirling around the movie.

Even before production began, we reported last March that the Jeepers Creepers 3 production was being forced to move, just before the production was supposed to begin in Canada. The production shift was forced by The Canadian Performers Union, which stopped a casting call from going out for the film, once the union...

The list of people who watched 1998’s shark flick Deep Blue Sea and got nothing out of it is a short one, we’d politely suggest. Directed by Renny Harlin, the movie was and is an absolute blast, with genetically modified intelligent sharks doing battle with a selection of human fodder.

Amidst the cast of the film were Saffron Burrows, Samuel L Jackson, Thomas Jane, LL Cool J, Michael Rapaport and Stellan Skarsgard, and even writing a few...

‘Dark House’ DVD Review
Stars: Luke Kleintank, Tobin Bell, Alex McKenna, Anthony Rey Perez, Zack Ward, Lacey Anzelc, Ethan S. Smith, Lesley-Anne Down, Charles Agron, Daniel Ross Owens, Max Gail, Patricia Belcher | Written by Victor Salva, Charles Agron | Directed by Victor Salva

As a fan of the Jeepers Creepers movies I’m always interested in what Victor Salva will come up with next, and this can be a good and bad thing. Dark House is his latest movie which he directs and co-wrote the screenplay for and I have to admit that it is an interesting film, if you are a fan of Supernatural or shows like it that focus on a fairly lightweight battle between good and evil. With Tobin Bell starring, Dark House is also is likely to pull in some of the Saw fans too.

'Pretty Little Liars' 100th Episode Recap: Caleb Returns To Rosewood, A Is Back With A Bang
Pretty Little Liars’ 100th episode saw the return of Caleb, Jenna and A in “Miss Me x100.”

Pretty Little Liars Recap

Ali (Sasha Pieterse) is ready to return to Rosewood High, but no one is ready to welcome her – even Hanna (Ashley Benson) is scared of becoming one of Ali’s puppets or dolls again. Travis (Luke Kleintank) tells her that she doesn’t have anything to worry about, who cares what everyone else thinks if she knows who she is?

While Hanna and Travis are doing their romantic astronomy homework, Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) are having a non-date night. They run into Ali on the sidewalk, talking to an unknown driver in a black SUV. She brushes it off, and says that she was just talking to one of her father’s employees, but they’re suspicious. Dark House (2014)

Written by: Victor Salva, Charles Agron

Directed by: Victor Salva

Cast: Luke Keintank (Nick De Santo), Alex McKenna (Eve), Anthony Rey Perez (Ryan), Zack Ward (Chris McCulluch), Lacey Anzelc (Lilith), Lesley- Anne Down (Lillian), Tobin Bell (Seth)

Sometimes names affiliated with a film that have cut a legendary niche for themselves in other pictures can be a telltale sign of a mediocre film. After “The Devil’s Rejects”, Sid Haig and Ken Foree were everywhere, with some films not becoming of their legendary status. So I always take famous names in obscure films with a cautionary grain of salt. “Dark House” has Tobin Bell from “Saw”, elegant Lesley-Ann Down, and is helmed by Victor Salva of “Jeepers Creepers” fame. This could be a small scale project of exceptional quality and potential that the famous people that are in it believe in, or...

Dark House Review
Victor Salva has experienced his highs and lows, spanning a career including Clownhouse, Jeepers Creepers, and some other movies about albinos and such – but just when you thought a trip down Rosewood Lane was the worst Salva could do, he found shelter in Dark House. Personally, I believe Jeepers Creepers was a bit of a lucky victory, as Salva absolutely tries to recreate that same independent horror vibe, but as axe-wielding lunatics run on all fours, chasing our group of house hunting victims, Salva’s latest attempt becomes sillier and sillier. Casting Tobin Bell might bring horror credibility in some circles, but not even Jigsaw could save this ridiculous bit of realty horror – and no, that’s not just because of the house’s price. I guess it’s never a good sign when you can describe a film as a “fixer upper.”

Nick De Santo (Luke Kleintank) never knew his father,...

Nothing Good's Hiding In "Dark House"
How am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea?

There's a pretty good movie that you've probably heard of called The Dead Zone (1983).  It was a movie from David Cronenberg based on a Stephen King book where a man could see someone's future just by touching them.  This lead the character on a battle against fate.  Dark House (2014) is about Nick Di Santo (Luke Kleintank) who touches people and knows how they will die (if it's gruesome enough).  After his lunatic mother dies, Nick is bequeathed a house, a house he's been drawing all of his life.  So, with his subtly named pregnant girlfriend Eve (Alex McKenna) and buddy Ryan (Anthony Rey Perez), Nick goes in search of his ancestral home.  Once they get in the neighborhood, they run in to Scut Farkus (Zack Ward)--who has changed his name to Chris and become a geological...

Dark House is a thrilling and horrifying road trip, full of twists and brutal surprises; a suspenseful thriller about a young man and a chilling old house that has survived decades, awaiting the return of its prodigal son… a house that can escalate Nick’s gift to see death before it happens, but holds within its walls the origins of a dark family legacy so horrible it may have already reached out to Nick’s unborn child.

Dark House is currently playing in New York and Los Angeles. It will open...

Encapsulated Cinema: Dark House, Cheap Thrills, and Contracted
Dark House (2014) Victor Salva has only directed one movie that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed — that would be “Jeepers Creepers,” in case you’re wondering — which is why I didn’t go into his 2014 effort “Dark House” (aka “Haunted”) with any huge expectations. While the flick isn’t anything overly original or deeply fascinating — a young man discovers that he’s the owner of a creepy old house in the middle of nowhere — it’s certainly a solid way to pass the time while you’re waiting for another motion picture to come along. Salva has put together a nifty little B-movie that hits a fair number of strong chords, assuming you can get past some questionable performances and a ton of wonky scripting. The twist in the third act was a little surprising and enjoyably gory, though it does little to help you forget some of the inherent goofiness found...

Exclusive: Tobin Bell Talks Dark House and More!
The director of the Jeepers Creepers franchise, Victor Salva, has teamed up with Saw's Tobin Bell for Dark House, a tale about a father who travels to a seemingly abandoned mansion in order to learn about his son’s dark psychic gifts.

Instead, Bell’s character, Seth, a mysterious woodsman, leaves them wrapped up in a journey about the true nature of fate.

Tobin Bell was kind enough to speak with us about his long and fascinating career and why he was drawn to the themes found inside the Dark House.

DC: I know you’ve been interviewed quite a bit in the past by guys like me about your experiences in the horror genre, but I would love to talk about your entire career and your time in New York. How did you first get your start in the business?

TB: Alan Parker hired me to do Mississippi Burning...

Dark House Is One Nutty Horror Movie
Dark House (2014)
Dark House is one nutty horror movie, but what's crazier still is how well it works — until it doesn't.

Nick (an excellent Luke Kleintank), 23, has a psychic power that gives him visions of how certain people will die. Desperate to understand its source, Nick begins an ancestral search that leads him, with his best friend (Anthony Rey Perez) and very pregnant girlfriend (Alex McKenna) in tow, to the deep woods of Mississippi, and a deserted gothic mansion guarded by hunched-over, stringy-haired, ax-wielding ghosts.

The house, by the way, may exist in an alternate dimension, and there appears to be a monster in the walls. Writer-director Victor Salva (Powder, Jeepers Creepers) and his co-writer, newcomer Charles Agron, throw in more plot point...

‘Dark House’ Review

Nick Di Santo (Luke Kleintank) is a man with a gift, he’s able to see...

The Axes Come Out to Play in First Trailer for Victor Salva’s Dark House
Talk about a swinging good time. An ax swinging good time, anyway, heh. Check out the first trailer for “Powder” and “Jeepers Creepers” director Victor Salva’s latest, “Dark House.” Personally I’m still waiting for “Jeepers Creepers 3.” I don’t know what it is about that series, but I really like it. The third movie has been announced seemingly ages ago, but apparently Salva has been working on other films first, like “Dark House.” Not sure why, since I would imagine “Jeepers Creepers” is where the money is, being an established horror franchise and all. Dark House is a thrilling and horrifying road trip, full of twists and brutal surprises; a suspenseful thriller about a young man and a chilling old house that has survived decades, awaiting the return of its prodigal son… a house that can escalate Nick’s gift to see death before it happens, but holds...

Trailer for the Horror Film Dark House with Tobin Bell
Here's a trailer for a new horror thriller coming out called Dark House. It stars Tobin Bell (Saw) and it was directed Victor Salva. The director has made some decent film in his career such as Jeepers Creepers, Clownhouse, and even the movie Powder. I liked the Jeepers Creepers films, but this new film doesn't look like it lives up to his past work. I enjoy watching all kinds of horror films, so I'll definitely give the movie a chance though.

The story is described as "a thrilling and horrifying road trip, full of twists and brutal surprises; a suspenseful thriller about a young man and a chilling old house that has survived decades, awaiting the return of its prodigal son... a house that can escalate Nick's gift to see death before it happens, but holds within its walls the origins of a dark family legacy so horrible it may...

Fearnet Movie Review: 'Dark House'
Dark House (2014)
It might not sound like much of a compliment to compare an independent horror movie to the long-running TV series Supernatural -- but it's not meant as an insult either. The certifiably strange new horror flick Dark House throws all sorts of old-fashioned genre tropes into a blender, including a few ingredients it they probably didn't need, and tops itself off with some new-fangled gore, gristle, and occult-style mayhem. Basically there's a lot going on in Victor Salva's Dark House, and at least 70% of it is fun stuff.

It's the old Jeepers Creepers director back with another scary tale, and while a good portion of Dark House feels like the second episode of a TV series (again, a lot like the earnestly goofy but sometimes suitably creepy Supernatural), it's safe to say that Dark House is most assuredly a "mixed bag" proposition; when the flick works, it works well.

New Trailer for Indie Horror Movie 'Dark House' Featuring Tobin Bell
"Up until about an hour ago I didn't know this house existed...!" Our friends at ShockTillYouDrop have debuted a trailer for a new indie horror film called Dark House, starring Tobin Bell who you might know as Jigsaw from the Saw series. However, the main focus is on a kid named Nick Di Santo, played by Luke Kleintank, who is haunted by the ability to touch someone and see exactly how they will die. The film is directed by Victor Salva, of Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2, Rites of Passage, Clownhouse, that one film Powder. I'm not sure this lives up to his past work, but it doesn't look too bad. The trailer may seem tame at first, but the action ramps up in the second half with lots of axe violence. In select theaters March for horror lovers.
