It really is a shame that Disney chased away so many people from Star Wars with recent installments.

Andor got the brunt of the sword and it is really disheartening. Obi-Wan Kenobi and BOBF turned a lot of people off unfortunately.

Andor is the show that the adult side of every Star Wars fan yearned/yearns for. This is a real show with chalant characters; intelligent writing with a large dose of rationale. Everything makes sense. Nothing makes you scratch your head in confusion.

If you are reading this, and you HAVEN'T watched Andor yet, I urge you to check it out. Sure, it's slow, but I like to use the term focused. And that focus gives the action exponentially more weight when it comes. The payoff is potent.

This episode was no exception. Luthen is becoming one of my favorite characters in Star Wars, and it was cool to see more aliens. I also can't wait to see what happens with Mon Mothma, Cassian and Syril.

Can't wait for next week!

Lays solid foundations for the finale with good character moments

News of a significant death travels fast, whilst Luthen pushes Saw to play the long game.

This is a strong episode that nicely sets up the season finale.

There is some fairly tense build up for certain characters that bodes well for the final episode of the series. Easily the strongest scenes for me involve Luthen. I love the dialogue with Saw, as both Stellen Skarsgåd and Forrest Whitaker are excellent as always when they share the screen. Plus there is one action focussed scene involving TIE Fighters that has some particularly cool moments for the character.

I also enjoyed the scene involving Mon Mothma as this character continues to intrigue and Genevieve O'Reilly is on great form as always. In fact all the scenes relating to the development of the Rebel Alliance is the stuff of nerdgasms for a long time Star Wars fan like me.

Another stellar episode

Tony Gilroy along with Beau Willimon from House of Cards have brought a level of sophistication and nuance to the Star Wars universe beyond all expectation. Their brilliant writing delves into the minute details of what fascism really is and exposes the empire's evil in a way no other film or series in the franchise has done before. It's like watching a real historical drama about rebellion and resistance against Nazi Germany.

The tension in the previous two episodes where Andor was imprisoned in the empire's concentration/labor camp was riveting and nerve wracking, not only because of the writing, but also the exquisite ATTENTION TO DETAIL. The brutal subjugation protocols of the prison down to the minute details of their forced labor on the prison assembly line along with the beautifully crafted sets (on all the different worlds) all serve to make this the best and most intelligent Star Wars franchise ever made.

This is by far my favorite show streaming on any platform right now. The rest of the Star Wars universe pales in comparison.

Just perfect - this is how rebellions start

Perfect. The score, the script, the acting, the sets, the ships, everything. This is the best thing Star Wars has made.

Think about what and why rebellions start. They dont start because life is good. They start because life is broken. It takes courage, faith and commitment - even in the face of hard choices - and there are plenty of hard choices here.

You start because rebellion is all you have left.

To the writers, amazing, amazing work. You have really brought Star Wars into the 21st century.

Luthen and his story is outstanding. Hard choices, shady work, coded dialogue. Andor is amazing but he is the vehicle for the story. How does one man, not interested in rebelling learn to rebel. We find it here. Diego is super.

The ISB - everything you knew the Empire to be. Specific, on the ball, sharp, watching. But overreaching. Their over confidence will be their undoing.

The fight scene - again just wow. Everything you ever hoped for done perfectly. This show is not about x wings and tie fighters - but they serve and they are there.

Mon Mothma - you legend. You steal every show. Your faith and commitment to the role and the amazing dialogue you have is spellbinding.

This is the best show since GoT (the early seasons - obviously). Long may you reign.

So brilliantly structured.

This show has built itself a really great scope of paranoia and intrigue. I think what is particularly satisfying is how so few of us saw this coming. It makes it such a treat. We've got back to the Empire as this terrifying force in the universe. It's a really great reminder to fans of what was so deftly constructed in the original trilogy and it's great to discover how Tony Gilroy truly understands the background landscape of those movies that we all love so dearly.

It's refreshing to be afraid of the Empire once again. The final shot is quite contemplative and has some symmetry with Rogue One.

Can't believe I was hating on this show all those weeks ago.

The poker face of the Star Wars universe. This show was always playing the long game, I was going to fold, it had me fooled. It's a drama that kept getting better and better and this week we had a huge emotional gut punch, a heart wrenching performance from a droid, characters being captured by huge nets made of tripe, the pieces all coming together for the Empire snd the rebellion and a cheeky little space battle. Everything about this show improves week on week, setting up a 'well im not sure' for next week as the story will go on for 12 more episodes soon after. Can't wait for its hand to be played, I'm going all in.

Daughter of Ferrix

Andor's mother Maarva has died. She will get a traditional funeral if one is allowed by the Empire.

Dedra Meero is sure that Andor will show up for her mother's funeral. She will allow the funeral rites to go ahead as it will be a trap for Andor.

It is just that no one knows that Andor is in prison, the kind where no one comes out alive.

Oh wait, luckily Andor managed to break out of prison in time. He also stumbled on two aliens who set up a booby trap but then kindly decided to give him a lift to Niamos.

What were the chances?

Some might say it was rather clumsy storytelling. At least the series is setting up for the finale.

Luthen gets the coolest moment as he takes on a star destroyer and destroys some TIE fighters. I am sure Stellan Skarsgard enjoyed his Star Wars moment.

This show is getting better towards the end

With a bit of a rough start, Andor is proving to become a must watch show.

This episode specifically focusses more on character development and gives the actors the needed screentime to actually act. Long close-ups engage the watchers and we can see the change in our characters unfolding in a way the old films use to do it.

As the previous episode, it's of a high quality, and after the rush of the previous episode, this one is a well paced, visually stunning and emotionally engaging 40 min.

The camera work, acting and editing is on the spot and Benjamin Caron's directing is superb!

I cannot wait for the season's final!

Powerful

I am really enjoying this series! It's hard to believe this is connected to the overarching Star Wars storyline. The spy craft can be treacherous, muddled and the end game is not always clear. These characters keep me coming back every week and I am really loving the world building these storytellers are crafting. I don't think I would recommend this series for kids, but if you're an adult who grew up with SW like I am there might be something here for you. I hope the production crew and writers can keep this show going, and I also hope that Lucasfilm keeps them on retainer for future SW material!

A Star Wars series worthy of the name.

11 episodes in and this series continues to deliver week after week, episode 11 Daughter of Ferrix was on one hand an emotional and thought provoking journey and the grief associated with loss and on the other the dilemma of a decision on whether or not the needs of the many are indeed more or less important than the needs of the few or in this case 31.

Gilroy has crafted an original, grounded and gritty Star Wars similar to The Mandalorin but distinctly different at the same time, it feels in some respects like a more adult story somehow far and away removed from Disney / Lucasfilm's most recent attempts. Andor stands head and shoulders above both Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett and is certainly worth while watching and very deserving of a second season. Good Star Wars at last!

This Star Wars at the best

I never expected to this turn of events after the last episode, but this is a good one and i might say one of the few with a Star Wars vibe until now, it's like a sad version of one of the best episodes from the Mandalorian, Boba Fett and Kenobi, mixed with some good influences from Babylon 5 and Battlestar Gallactica and made it with a very original vision. I bet the most softies fans, including the girls, will cry at the end of the episode and at the finale of the end credits music score. I will not spoil anything, but i will say with this episode, this series exceeds the quality of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. I Iike the mature and yet sometimes a little funny tone of this series and when you think everything from what is happening in this series it is the result of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader's actions, you will realise how much this series expands the entire Star Wars universe. I do hope they will mantain the quality of the show in the next season and they will not follow the path of Altered Carbon's tv series which it turned in to a mess in the second season and i do hope they will change their minds and they will give us more seasons.

A solid bridge between two amazing episodes!

After the previous episode which delivrred incredible tension and amazing writing and acting, this felt like a great way to digest what we just experienced as well as setting the stage for the finale!

At this point you can feel how the rebellion is only getting closer qnd closer! The characters are facing some turning points and they have to fully commit themselves to the cause, if this is gonna work!

After Luthens legendary monologue in the previous episode, you kinda see him differently now! Its like you finally understand him and you root for him more than ever! For that reason I am glad he gets one of the best scenes in this episode!

The season might have been slow at first, but all thst set up and introduction is about to pay off!

Best Star Wars universe possible.

I grew up during the original Star Wars era. Please don't hold this against me, but while I enjoyed the movies I wasn't a huge fan. Kinda lost track of the franchise over the years. But now ... I picked up again when streaming started. I went back to watch everything in chronological order. Then suddenly there was The Mandalorian. Wow. Blew me away.

And now Andor. IMO now is the perfect time where the acting, the writing, the directing, music and technology all meet and produces the best Star Wars universe possible. With Andor, each week has given us just simply the best possible episode. This week allowed us to catch our breath slightly, until Luthen ran rings around the Imperial patrol! Where did he learn to fly and invade like that? And then when Cassian hears the news about his mother, I believe we all cried. Again today I say well played everyone. Well played.

"People need to know about this"

It's sad this season is coming to an end. The drama, the twists and the character definition make you part of the story and you get involved with the importance of the rebellion, all of this make the show a relevant part of the Star Wars franchise. Nothing else to say. Hats off to this show. Cassian teaches you that every effort you make, not matter how hard it is, has a special award. The human touch about power, the need of surviving, the message of fighting and never giving up. Even the music gives you the chills in the story itself. The good will always triumph over the bad. It's the message we're happy to get.

Daughter of Ferrix

As "Andor" is nearing its final stretch, it's clear that they're gearing up for something. There's the saying of "the quiet before the storm," and this episode seems to completely embody that saying. There are a few loose ends that they'll have to tie up, but with the incredible work that Tony Gilroy has done with navigating this show through these arcs, this feels like the beginning of the end as it does start to tie up some of those ends before the finale airs. This was definitely a more laid back episode, but still featuring some of this season's best sequences, especially its action.

For the first time, it seems like all of the storylines are nearing that connection point, and it feels like poetic justice that it's happening where the entire thing started. The entire idea of basing this big finale around the funeral of Maarva Andor is amazing writing, and the spark that the audience got to see in her from the first episode is the spark that's going to light the fire of the rebellion. It's going to inspire a lot of these figures to take the fight seriously, and it'll probably influence Andor to finally join the cause as well. All the pieces are moving now, so it doesn't matter that they decided to bring it down a little bit, because it's going to be full-on with the next episode. The episode also gave the show a big action sequence that, while being short, will hopefully satisfy the people who have longed for more space battles in the show. It was badass and it gave some nice development to Luthen who is quite the pilot. This episode also made it obvious that Gilroy's vision for the show was always to show the beginning of the rebellion, and while some may wish it could have happened a little quicker, it takes time to set all of this up. This episode showed how satisfyingly they've been able to make it all work and if they're able to stick the landing, this is going to be a truly memorable show and one of the best in this universe.

"Daughter of Ferrix" is deliberately moving all the characters to the same spot to prepare for the fireworks that are going to fly come the finale. It has a great action sequence, and while it was a little slow, it was difficult to look away because of the brilliant way Tony Gilroy has structured everything.

Luthen and Saw

This entire episode is remarkably, deliberately crafted. Each conversation is full of tension and dread. It's amazing. That said...watching Luthen and Saw interact is a magical dance of two ruthlessly tactical and paranoid characters being portrayed by a pair of actors who are stunning to watch. They play off each other so flawlessly. Such a treat to watch them work. I found myself terrified the characters would kill each other and at the same time fan-girl giggling at how good the actors both are. Beautifully executed. **sidenote: I know there are some who take issue with Forest Whittaker's voice and movement affectations for his character but I've always thought they matched up logically with the life Saw would have lived. I just enjoy it.
