Because of COVID-19, Jake and Amy were not going to kiss. According to Andy Samberg, someone in charge of COVID protocols said if Jake and Amy kiss, then Samberg and Melissa Fumero would need negative tests and then use mouthwash. Later, the show found out they did not require these measures.
In typical overreaching fashion, Charles bemoans the fact that Jake and Amy never kiss in front of the squad anymore. This is an inside joke regarding the series' newly initiated Covid-19 protocols requiring members of the cast to limit close interactions that could unnecessarily expose them to the virus.
This episode was released one day before the first episode turns eight years old.
Salmon P. Chase, the 6th chief justice of the supreme court, was in fact pictured on the $10,000 bill, which was printed from 1928 to 1946.
The final moment of the opening credits is incorporated into the episode, revealing that the squad was going to get falafel. Interestingly, the version used is the one without Gina (who was digitally removed from the opening walk after Chelsea Peretti left the series in season 6), seemingly canonizing that the trip to the falafel stand happened after Gina left - or maybe she just didn't go for falafel.
