  • Obi-Wan Kenobi : [Obi-Wan damages Vader's mask with his lightsaber, revealing half of his face. He's horrified]  Anakin.

    Darth Vader : [His voice is distorted as he continues wheezing]  Anakin is gone. I am what remains.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : [He starts to cry]  I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Anakin.

    [He breathes shakily] 

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : For all of it.

    Darth Vader : [He continues to wheeze. His voice is still distorted]  I am not your failure, Obi-Wan.

    [We hear more of Vader's real voice] 

    Darth Vader : You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did.

    [Vader gives a sadistic smile that turns into a snarl] 

    Darth Vader : The same way I will destroy you!

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : [He is still sad. He deactivates his lightsaber]  Then my friend is truly dead. Goodbye, Darth.

    [Obi-Wan leaves] 

    Darth Vader : [He continues to wheeze. He stares hatefully at Obi-Wan's retreating form]  Obi-Wan!

    [He collapses on the ground, still wounded. He is alone. He screams] 

    Darth Vader : OBI-WAN!

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi : [Qui-Gon's Force ghost appears]  Master Qui-Gon.

    Qui-Gon Jinn : Well, took you long enough.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Beginning to think you'd never come.

    Qui-Gon Jinn : I was always here, Obi-Wan. You just were not ready to see. Come on. We've got a ways to go.

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi : Leia... when I said before that I didn't know your parents... Princess Leia Organa, you are wise, discerning, kindhearted. These are qualities that came from your mother. But you are also passionate and fearless, forthright. And these are gifts from your father. Both were exceptional people who bore an exceptional daughter.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : [Ignites his lightsaber]  I will do what I must.

  • Inquisitor Reva : [trying to kill Luke, thoughts of what Anakin did the night of Order 66 stopped her]  I couldn't do it. I failed them. He killed them all, and I couldn't do it.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : You haven't failed them. By showing mercy, you have given them peace. You have honored them.

    Inquisitor Reva : Have I become him?

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : No. You have chosen not to. Who you become now, that is up to you.

    [taking out her lightsaber, she drops it on the ground and he helps her to her feet] 

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Now you're free. We both are.

  • Leia Organa : You said you'd take me home.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : I wish that I could, Leia. Really, I do. Please tell your father I tried. I have something for you.

    [giving her Tala's holster] 

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Roken found it before we got out. She would have wanted you to have it.

    Leia Organa : It's empty.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Well, I wasn't gonna give you a blaster, Leia. You're ten years old. But you won't always be.

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi : You know, you were right. He just needs to be a boy. The future will take care of itself. The only protection he needs now, Owen, is you and Beru. Take good care of him.

    Owen Lars : I will.

    [sighs] 

    Owen Lars : Ben? You want to meet him?

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : [Obi-Wan walks over to Luke]  Hello there.

  • Leia Organa : So, what'll you do now?

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : I don't know. What do you think I should do?

    Leia Organa : I think you should sleep.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : [sharing a laugh]  I think you're right.

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi : [planning to give himself up to Vader]  Roken needs more time to fix the ship. This will give him that time. You've spent ten years protecting the Jedi. This is my chance to return that favor.

    Roken : But we're so close.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Roken, you know this plan makes sense.

    Sully : No, we need you!

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : It'll buy you the time you need. You must get these people out of here. You are all the future.

    [to Leia] 

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : You are the future. You're what needs to survive.

    Leia Organa : [running away]  No.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Leia.

    Haja Estree : [stopping him from following her]  I find she needs to be given space. Just...

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : You must promise me that you'll get her home, Haja. As soon as I'm in the clear.

    Haja Estree : You have my word. Although, I know the word of a liar and a fake Jedi might not mean much to you.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : It's good enough for me.

  • Roken : Hyperdrive's almost ready. Move all power to the rear shields. We'll head for Tessen. Get you out from there.

    [he leaves, and Ben follows him] 

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : We're not gonna make it to Tessen, are we?

    Roken : Motivator's shot. Power couplings are bad. I'm workin' on it, but those shields won't last forever.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : How much time do you need?

    Roken : More than we have.

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi : [after sensing Luke is in danger]  Where is he?

    Beru Lars : He's gone.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : I'll look in the Dune Sea. We'll search 'til we find him.

  • Roken : [Ben plans to draw Vader away so the Path can escape]  You don't have to do this, you know. We can still fix the drive.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : I have to go.

    Roken : It's not about us, is it? You want to do it. It's about you and him.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Just keep them safe.

    Roken : Keep yourself safe, too.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : [he turns to leave]  Roken. There are not many leaders left. People follow you. Don't stop.

    Roken : I'm just getting started.

  • Senator Bail Organa : [Leia is returned home safely]  We can never repay you.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Well, she has already done that.

    Senator Bail Organa : I fear for her future. The Empire grows stronger and bolder.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi : Well, if you ever need my help again, you know where to find me.

    Senator Bail Organa : Let's hope that day never comes.
