A cute little short--with a very good ending...

The film begins with a murder. However, the Captain is with the detectives this time and is shocked to hear the show's trademark sound whenever a dramatic moment occurs! So, he orders the men to drop everything else they are doing and find out who's making that annoying sound!

This short film was obviously made on a shoestring budget and it makes no pretenses about this. The film obviously was not made in New York and the actors bear no similarity to the ones from "Law & Order". However, it IS pretty clever and the ending is very, very good--well worth the 4 minutes of your life you'll spend watching it! Provided you've seen any of the episodes of the original show (heck, after being on TV for 20 years, most Mesai tribesmen and residents of Tierra del Fuego have probably seen it by now!), you'll enjoy this gentle little film.

Warning: Spoilers
The title "Law and Order: Really Special Victims Unit" already tells you that this is obviously a spoof of the famous "Law & Order" franchise. I am a great fan of some of these, especially "Criminal Intent", so I was curious about this one here. It runs for 4 minutes and was written and directed by Richard Keith, who also stars in here. However, the more famous cast members are probably Emmy nominee Gregory Itzin and Chris McKenzie. The story is basically that the cops are trying to find out who makes that famous L&O sound. So they are making comments that are fitting enough to evoke that sound in order to find out where it comes from and who does it. However, that one joke is basically not enough, even for four minutes and I personally found it annoying to hear it so frequently, which was maybe even the filmmakers' intention here. The only somewhat funny part in the second half is the one with the phone call. All in all, not a good watch. Maybe could have been one at 2 minutes runtime.
