A treasure

I very clearly remember waiting up to watch this. It was a faithful retelling of the cult classic with some of the original cast gracing our screens. It was a strange and difficult world we were living in with the pandemic, still trying to figure out which way was up, and productions like these were everywhere. Fun little romps to try to cheer us all up. To me, this was a great success.

And to the one and only Tim Curry. He hasn't done much on screen since his health changed, but there is so much to be said for the fact that he loves his craft and this work so much that he did it anyways. As a long time fan not only of the film but of Mr. Curry, it was a wonderful treat to see him return.

Is it perfect? No. But see it for what it is: a love letter to the fans of RHPS.

A love letter live

This was produced and executed with love for the original production all around. Bless Mr. Curry for putting forth the effort. Little Nell was everything, supportive and wonderful that you have ever wished for in the theater community.

It looked to me as though everyone had a wonderful time, and I had a wonderful time with them.

This production was part of a fundraising effort, so one of the reasons that there were multiple players for parts was to encompass a wider variety of fans, and hopefully encourage them to donate. I certainly found that my money was well spent enjoying an evening with all the new and old friends.

I love the Rocky Horror Show but...

This wasn't even done to school project level, did they have any professions on the back end at all. So many great actors so embarrassingly used and wasted. I am shocked, this is the only Rocky Horror version I have disliked out of many. Such a shame - I even liked the old ZX spectrum game and have seen live on many occasions. The use of Tim Curry seemed wasteful too and almost abusive, he has been one of my favourite actors for a long time from the original to Clue to his roles in Criminal Minds, it was also very jarring they way they used multiples for parts, I get it was a webcast but I have done better myself.

Not perfect but it wasn't meant to be

On October 31, 2020, an innovative livestream of the iconic "Rocky Horror Show" was organized, uniquely themed as something similar to a "Rock the Vote" initiative, particularly targeting Wisconsin amidst concerns over political integrity in the state. The event was conceived as a rapid response to these political challenges, leveraging the urgency of the times to galvanize viewers. Despite the quick organization, the significance of the performance was underscored by the involvement of Tim Curry, whose participation was especially poignant given his health struggles at the time. The livestream format, adopted due to the ongoing pandemic, facilitated a reunion of several original cast members, adding a layer of nostalgia and excitement. This virtual performance not only served as a call to political action but also as a testament to the enduring appeal of the "Rocky Horror Show," demonstrating its capacity to adapt and resonate even in unprecedented times. The production, although quickly arranged, offered fans a rare opportunity to see Curry and other original cast members revisit their roles, delivering a memorable experience despite the minimal preparation time.

TLDR; I knew it wasn't perfect and it had Tim Curry and other cast members so it was perfect after all.
