I am a massive fan of the ARK franchise, I thought SE, and, ABB were great DLC'S, I didn't like Extinction along with this to much either though. Wildcard only wants one thing from ARK and that is money, I'm sick on how they never even focus on many of the other glitches in ARK and just spend their time adding unnecessary editions to the game including this, so I end this short review on me saying that "Wildcard, don't just do it for the money, but for the fans..."

I'm sorry to the people who rated this higher than 3 star but there is really nothing good or even decent about this one... the missions are boring, the soundtrack is the same as always, graphics are the same. Everything is the same and is definitely something not worth $29.99 on Steam....
Probably the worst DLC I have ever played period.

I hate this DLC, ARK by itself is a great game that runs fairly smooth and has its FREE ROAM gameplay, keyword FREE ROAM, unlike the previous iterations this DLC does NOT keep that free roaming feel because you are forced to do a million of stupid missions. It's just dumb anyway I recommend ARK and it's 3 other GOOD Dlcs, however stay away from this trash!
Congrats Wildcard, Now ARK is ruined forever!

Wow... im disappointed.... I paid 35 BUCKS FOR THIS!!! 35!!! Higher than any of the other ARK DLC's on Steam currently keep in mind, all that money just to how badly they butchered this franchise!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK WILDCARD!!!!

Wildcard threw away everything that ARK was before this monstrosity of a DLC came along! Wildcard decided take out free roam and replace it with repetitive missions, I just hate it I really do and I also hate this DLC!!

This DLC is not worth any of your time or even your money the DLC itself is trash. Playing it I was very annoyed by the amount of lag it had to the point where I had to rage quit. The gameplay would probably be better with a better PC but for an average one like mine it is just unbearable. And that annoying AI that follows you around who is always talking to you and making bad puns with her irritating accent. With missions that are so bad they will make you question why you bought this Expansion in the first place.

C'mon guys! The DLC isn't that bad. I honestly think what Wildcard just wanted to make this DLC creative in an amazing way! The thing I like most about the map however is it's lovable design choice, sure the other maps in ARK look good, but they don't even come close to how awesome this Expansion looks! Another thing that gets to much flak is the idea of having to do missions, sure it may not feel like ARK but they are something alright they are challenging and fun and I honestly love doing them. The Ferox is now among my most favorite creature in the Game they are interesting in how a little creature can become so big!!! So at the end of the day Genesis: Part 1 is an underrated classic in my opinion, definitely deserves more praise than hate.

When me and my friend first watched the trailer for this DLC, we were actually really hyped for it. And to be honest I loved the new creatures featured in that trailer they just looked so appealing. But when I bought this DLC and played it I was really disappointed, like I said earlier the design for the new creatures are cool looking, but what pushes my rating to a 1/10 is that the gameplay was just glitchy/laggy as all hell, I couldn't do a single thing without lag having to crash the game!! And the number of glitches that are in this big mess you can't do a single thing I am not even kidding! And the fact that this costs $34.99 just amazes me as it has a higher price than the three previous DLC's. I would love to rank this game above a 1/10, but honestly I just can't with the numerous technical problems this expansion suffers from.

I love this DLC, the graphics are absolutely a huge step up from the base game including the other DLCS. And the new creatures are wonderful and look really cool. The missions are fresh and easy to follow and try not to become to repetitive, which is great. Overall highly recommend DLC 10/10.

This DLC is just garbage, I don't even think a 2.8/10 describes how awful this DLC is. This is definitely a DLC I wouldn't even poke a stick at, play the other 3 DLCs instead that are actually worth your time and won't make you puke...

Bad DLC, in my opinion this wasn't at all necessary I think ending the story for ARK with Extinction would have been perfectly fine, but honest to God the people should spend their time on actually fixing their Game, I will get the fact out the way that I love ARK it is among my most favorite games of all time but like many other games has it's flaws.
GRAPHICS: The graphics in Genesis: Part 1 is probably the best thing about it, though that is not saying much as ARK itself always had really good graphics and smooth texturing.
PLOT: If I could describe it in one word it would be unoriginal, ARK always had a basic plot where you had to survive in order to reach the end, this just feels like it was copied and pasted off of Star Wars.
THE LOCATIONS: Are absolutely terrible, the only somewhat cool biome is the Lunar one though not saying much as everyone of them suffers from an insufferable lag and many bugs! Other than that though they are bland which makes them really terrible.
CONCLUSION: Overall, ARK: Genesis - Part 1 is a bad DLC of a great game I definitely recommend ARK and it's first 3 DLCs, however stay away from this.

Ark: Genesis part 1, while not the best DLC ever, it isn't the worst either the main problem many people have is the fact that you have to complete missions in which many people dislike, and ARK in general is suppose to be free roam in general. Though i give it a 5/10 because the graphics and texturing are nice, and Helena's voice is in my opinion tolerable soo yea, overall the DLC is FIne.

As a long time fan of ARK, I played every single DLC of the game and really enjoyed them. Scorched Earth was very hard but also very fun at the same time, Aberration is the best of all of them I love it's design choice and soundtrack is beautiful. Extinction took a little time getting use to but I still enjoyed it. Now Genesis part 1 and part 2 for that matter are just awful, they take the immersion that you would have in ARK and tossed it away, replacing it with missions and an AI that follows you and gives you orders. Overall disappointing.

I will be honest, I was very excited for this DLC. I thought it would have been a very fun experience, but apparently I was wrong the DLC turned out to be pretty awful overall. A few minor pluses go to the SLIGHTLY upgraded graphics and newer creatures looking pretty cool... The things I hate about the DLC is the story, the story is very contrived and doesn't feel like ARK at all. I have played ARK for a long time I played it from late 2017 to this very day and bought every single DLC for the game including this one, and every other DLC was great in my opinion except for this one. Genesis may not just be my cup of tea as there are many people who enjoy it, but it's just not for me honestly...

The DLC may not have ARKs basic formula within it, but it's still fun and enjoyable all the way through. The newer creatures are spot-on in terms of design and features I like how they added a fox that can go from looking cute and adorable to a monstrous beast! We are given Helena as an actual companion to help us get through the game, the missions are a great addition to the game it makes the game a lot harder and tense! The story us still better than ever in terms of execution with the graphics looking amazing.
Now im not saying this DLC is perfect there are a couple of problems such as low framerates similar to the original Game, and to add that there are more glitches in this expansion than the other ones we have been giving since far...
But this concludes My review, at the end of the day Genesis - Part 1 is a great addition to the ARK franchise!
