Shockers!! Tacky clothing, fake doll face plastic looks 🤢 and bitchy competitive attitudes .. it's worse than high school so yes it's entertaining but these guys wouldn't know elegance if they fell over it. How embarrassing.

Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't stop watching it. The only person I didn't like is Andrew. Hope he is not on S2 such a gold digger. Anna is my favorite.

Fake friend
alexisklynch15 May 2022
I very much enjoyed this show in the first season. This season (season 2), I still very much enjoy. However, I've come to realize or at least a lot of the focus is on how Kane is a fake friend it seems. Loves to stir up drama and plays the victim after things unfold. But anyone who says anything to him he runs his mouth which isn't cool when your 'friends' are confiding in you .

It's like rich kids of Beverly Hill
clarkjessica-1639522 May 2022
My favorite cast is Anna, she is old and cool at the same time. Season 2 made Kane very messy! But I don't like that ordinary dude, he acts like an opportunist and he has fake concerns about his friends.

Saddening
Vanillaalmond20 January 2021
This series could easily be used as an infomercial regarding the dangers of plastic surgery, these poor people are disfigured as a consequence of trying to erase their heritage and look like other disfigured americans. This level of surgery might be so common nowadays in the US that people don't even see the monstrosity of it. For the rest of it, this is a display of nothingness somehow, being nothing, having accomplished nothing except to ride on someone else's coattail. No wonder, when your life is this poor, that you need to cook up such petty and insignificant drama as this is.

I'm enjoying it so far... it's not bad background noise.

Warning: Spoilers
It's not bad. I usually like watching these shows while doing laundry etc. Andrew kinda portrays himself as an ass in the first episode. I think he has anger issues. In the first episode, he didn't have to freak out the way he did. It's borderline mental abuse. The woman he is with obviously cares about him. Their relationship may need a little bit more communication on both ends... but still... calm down. It is great drama for the show and he is an actor so maybe it was all on purpose... but once again, damn dude... calm down.

It's a really "Fake" show
wdaliangiup18 January 2021
As a Chinese American, I have hopes for the show. In the first episode, the rich girl claims her husband is the 24th generation of Song Dynasty. Really? ! You think no one would notice such a stupid claim in the U.S.? I know they are super rich, but it seems like they tried very hard to "dehumanize" themselves so they appear "abnormal" in a very bad way. For example, it seems that everyone in the show tried hard to look "ugly". What's wrong with rich and normal?

Just simple entertainment
jvrijsbergen-567-87081525 January 2021
I am not a fan of the Real Housewife series but did like the Selling Sunset and this is in the same atmosphere Next to that, they appear to have issues which develop in the episodes and that is nice to see. Looking forward to season 2

Plastic Surgery Gone Bad
vida-2908120 January 2021
I watched every episode & couldn't find one thing to like, admire, or respect about the cast. They're so obsessed with luxury brands it's a walking advertisement and not in a good way. Nearly everyone looks like they've had multiple plastic surgeries that look really bad.

Timing might be an issue
sareed197115 January 2021
The timing of the release of Bling Empire might make some eyebrows rise. Releasing the series during a worldwide pandemic might seem to some as being tone-deaf. If we start judging shows because we disagree with the timing of the release, we could be here all night. I've chosen just to take the show at face value and look for some lightweight fluff.

The cast is a group of unbelievably wealthy (except for Kevin) Asians. Like all first seasons of any reality show, we're mostly here to learn who these people are and where they fit within their group. It reminds me of an early season of a Real Housewives show before they all started getting more and more fake. I've given those shows the boot.

If you're just looking for a show that'll take your mind off the real world, give Bling Empire a try. It's light. It's fun. And I need that after the devastating real life events unfolding right now.

#Edit for season three This is just fun to watch. Practically every personality type is represented and the cast has settled into their roles within the show. I STILL want to be Jamie someday. Wow, does that woman have style!

Into it
freidap1 May 2021
Such a fun show to get lost in for a couple of days. The lavish lives of the cast are unrelatable but their personal circumstances sure aren't. I love that they have included some descriptive cultural asides in the show, making it less purely voyeuristic than most other reality tv shows. I'm ready for the next season!

Season 2 was good not great
dantebarkley24 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In Season 2 we find out Kevin is trying to date Kim Lee and I can't help but feel like Kim Lee is NOT interested in Kevin at all. I didn't like how she strung him along in the entirety of Season 2 but got jealous when he was interested or got attention from other women. In other news Kim Lee gets a residency as a DJ at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas which seemed like a big deal but we didn't get much of that story line this season.

Kane is.... Kane this season but we also get to see how Kane doesn't like the attention on him when he's in the wrong or it has to do with negativity. A prime example is when Dorothy Wang brought up the reasoning behind why she doesn't necessarily like being around him. Initially I felt like Dorothy was a mean girl (and maybe I still do) but in this situation it seemed like Kane was in the wrong and was almost unapologetic for his dismissive behavior. Kane also wanted to move on to another topic pretty quickly when Anna Kay asked him about his fathers financial and legal issues. Speaking of Dorothy Wang she's in this season which I feel like the producers just did to get additional buzz around the show because she contributed.... nothing and she probably won't be back next season since she moved to NYC.

Anna Kay and Christine are back at each other's throats again over a she say, she say conversation. Christine claims a close friend of hers told her Anna Kay was going around town saying "I'm going to end Christine" (which sounds so played) and Anna claims the conversation never happened. Although I loveeeeee Christine and her fashions I can't help but believe Anna Kay didn't say these things. Anna seems like an unbothered chick and this season she was really more interested in shopping with Jaime.

Speaking of Jaime we get a lot more of her this season. She's close gal pals with Dorothy Wang and they end up talking about Jaime's dating life or lack there of, which turns into a shopping trip where Jaime meets Adam. They enjoy each other's vibe while shopping and end up going on a date which Jaime butchers but that's okay she's young and has plenty of time.

Cherie was in this season as well and they picked up where she left off last season by proposing to her boyfriend. So this season we briefly got a glimpse of her planning her wedding or at least looking at wedding rings. That shortly got overshadowed by the drama surrounding her and her fiancé. Allegedly her fiancé was married to another woman and had a family prior to dating Cherie. Meanwhile Cherie also was in a relationship but ended it in order to be with her now current fiancé. Buttttt we don't know the real truth since that question got left unanswered.

Kelly was in this season but I don't really know what her storyline was. We knew her and Andrew broke up last season but at the end of this season we can see Andrew walking up to Anna Kay's house with flowers leaving us with the finale cliffhanger.

I am Asian & I got a bunch of affluent friends like this
ryanyeo-1245922 January 2021
Scripted? Who knows... But the real world is worse!

Be it of any culture, I have friends of different ethnicity leading these lifestyles, doing these alpha/beta wealth competitions, whether you enter the way of life willingly, soon enough it becomes too entrenched to step away.

I have seen far worse. Many don't see it as a problem because that's all they know.

Superficial garbage.
Cinemaniac198426 June 2021
Bling Empire was just another reality TV series featuring rich families, fake personalities, plastic surgery, partying, gold digging and snobbery for the amusement of viewers.

It's just superficial garbage. I detest these types of shows and having the show playing in the background while I'm my computer saved me wasting any time.

If you like these types of reality shows, good for you. But I will still dislike these types of shows and Bling Empire is no exception.

1/10.

Can't...stop...watching
cherrycola16816 January 2021
With so much reality trash tv, it's hard to find one that gets you hooked on the first episode and that's exactly what Bling Empire did. I originally clicked on it out of curiosity, not knowing what to expect, but before I knew it, I binged the entire first season in one sitting. I can't figure out if it's really that good or really that bad, but either way I admit I want more!

Downfall of society
inacan-90-89426115 May 2022
Why there isn't a psychiatrist in a bubble explaining these behaviors aren't natural or healthy is beyond me.

Opulence=gaudy and watching "rich" people complain about niche things and trying to stretch paper thin conflicts is ridiculous.

At least Selling Sunset has houses.

Better than I expected
teamdiana-8077919 January 2021
Everyone needs to watch the entire series before writing a review. Please do not write a review if you've only seen the trailer. I see a lot of comments that are based out of ignorance. After all, my thoughts after watching all eight episodes is different than how it was initially.

I actually cringed at the idea of watching this at first, especially since it was trying to monopolize on the success of Crazy Rich Asians.

I'm Asian and when I was heard about it, I was shaking my head. A couple friends (white and Asian) messaged me about it, so I decided to check out the trailer, and I thought it was tacky. The trailer is just a bunch of clips with no context edited together. No wonder it looked awkward and cringey.

Finally, I decided to give the show a chance and thought it got better after the first episode. The show is surprisingly entertaining, especially the diversity aspect in casting various different Asian ethnic backgrounds and having them intermingle. Non-Asians don't realize that most Asians don't speak the same language (Chinese/Singaporean/Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, etc), so it was refreshing to see how the show highlights differences.

My favorite is (probably) Christine because of her Queen B persona. Plus, she is very articulate and well-spoken. I can't imagine a Beverly Hills-based show without a character like Christine! People love to hate these characters, but they are so intriguing to watch. Love her!

My other favorite is Kim Lee; she started getting more scene time as the series progressed. She's really fun to watch!

I didn't like Kane at first. I thought he was very annoying, but he grew on me overtime because you do learn a lot about Asian culture through him, and he says a lot of HILARIOUS things! I also really enjoyed Kevin and Anna. Andrew was also fun to watch despite his anger issues.

It's just a show ya'll. Enjoy it and stop getting offended by everything!

Warning: Spoilers
Shows a group of friends who are all rich living in Cali. Kevin is the odd one as he is not as wealthy and was adopted. Shows different asian cultures including Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean.

I ended up liking certain characteristics of the individuals as we see their life stories unfold.

Names include Kane, Kelly, Kevin, Anna, Kim, Christine.

Even for reality this is awful
mooxeh20 January 2021
I can't even start to explain how awful this is. I've watched some reality shows before, but this is simply pure garbage to the point where you don't even believe at any point that this isn't fake.
