The casting and performances were excellent, especially from the stunningly beautiful Meagan Good who was very convincing in her role. The directing by Seth Jarrett was on point. The pacing for the comfortable 90 min runtime was just right. The cinematography and score were decent. The premise of the story was very good, but was riddled with plot and technical issues. Seasoned TV show writer Barbara Kymlicka took a well thought out "revenge plan" and ended it with the most boring and simplistic way. I was expecting some grand finale, but ended up with one that could've easily bypassed the entire suspenseful middle acts, and left me unsatisfied. A little more though and effort towards the ending would've easily made this TV movie a blockbuster theatre film contender. Never mind the two new account 9 and 10/10 of the four current reviews. This is a solid 7/10, easily losing 2 stars for the bland, boring and lazy ending.

Worth the watch

A strong cast is the best reason to watch "Death Saved My Life". The script was a little different than the usual Lifetime fare. Much of the script is very clever. The story kind of runs out of steam after a while and that's a shame. The cast is good so I wish the script was just a little bit better. All in all. I'm still glad I watched "Death Saved My Life".
The first Lifetime movie that isn't trash for me.

Apparently this is based on a true story which makes it a little bit better because if you heard about it then you know what's gonna happen already but if you don't know it's a real event, then it's a little bit like the Stephen King movies.
I'm gonna try my best to remember this as much as I could, because I haven't seen it since it was released in February of last year.
It's about a woman named Jade Thompson who has a successful marketing career, who is loved by the community of her town and has her daughter. However her husband, Ed who is a surgeon, is extremely abusive and after finding out she snuck out of the house with their daughter and finds divorce papers in her car he assaults her. Ed decides to hire a hitman to kill her and when Jade finds out his motives she decides to fake her death. Making the hitman think she died. She then goes out of her way to basically torment Ed by sending him letters saying she's still alive and Ed starts getting random things sent and done to him. LIke having send him their wedding video from an unknown number, setting up a reservation at a restaurant they used to go to a lot, replacing the slides in a slideshow he made for work with pictures of a skull superimposed over Jade's face while he's presenting them to onlookers in the hospital, and breaking into the house to replace Ed's clothes with hers. Jade at this point wants to have the hitman and Ed arrested so she decides to follow the hitman back to his apartment complex where she learns that his name is actually Donald. Ed confronts Donald about this and they find out she was listening to the conversation from outside. Ed chases her but is eventually stopped by parole officers, leading her to get away. This is where the ball drops HARD for him, I mean REALLY hard. He develops a drinking problem, he chokes his new girlfriend after mistaking her for Jade, he gets fired from his job after being too shaky with surgery. Jade then decides that torment him MORE by sending fake pictures of her dead body, playing their song on the Bluetooth speakers, and filling the kitchen with white flowers. Ed is eventually arrested after all of this and Jade is safe now with her daughter.
My thoughts? A lot more better than other LIfetime movies, it's not cliche, it's not dull, it's something original for once. The direction that Seth Jarrett went with this is amazing and it doesn't beat around the bush either. And the acting isn't horrible unlike their OTHER movies, but it could be a little bit better. Overall, this a good movie and I highly recommend this I wish all the other LIfetime movies were like this though....

I don't understand all of the great reviews. The film made me ask how something this ridiculous could get made. There were at least ten unimaginable events that would not possib!y ever in life come close to happening in real life. NEVER!! Pure stupidity.

This movie didn't really make much sense. There Aside from the fact that some of the things in it seem really unlikely to have been doable and the psychological damage shown implausible in what seemed like such a short period of time, it was not really made clear who was involved in what and whose involvement was coincidental. Especially the police. Perhaps if it had been a limited series they could have filled in those blanks but with them unfilled, it was like watching a Skinemax movie without the sex. The acting was okay for most, better for Meagan who is a good actress, but I think the writing was the issue. It's a no from me.

This movie was absolutely excellent. Plot was tightly woven and the actors were stellar, especially Meagan Good, in the role of Jade, wife of a husband abuser who just happens to be a gifted heart surgeon. Meagan's own sister already played her sister in the movie. A British actor portrayed her husband. For a Lifetime movie, this was top-notch! Highly recommended!

An essential reference point for "Death Saved My Life" is the sure and steady hand of cardiologist Dr. Ed Thompson. He boasts of having saved over a thousand lives in heart surgeries, and he takes special pride in miraculous dexterity of his hand. But by the end of the film, Dr. Ed will have lost his magical touch and everything else that was once dear to him.
The problem with Dr. Ed is that he is wife batterer. The victim is Jade, a dynamic advertising executive with a career that drives her jealous husband wild. Instead of quitting her job, as Dr. Ed demands, she puts her creative resources to use in going undercover to gather enough evidence to demonstrate to the police that her husband is a monster with a scalpel. Suddenly, Dr. Ed is no longer the hunter, but the hunted.
The filmmakers were successful in developing Jade's cat-and-mouse game around a visually appealing set of locations. The performances were all top-notch, and there was good feeling developed between Jade and her sister Leigh, as well as with her lovely daughter Kayla.
The loving familial bonds not only held the film together but demonstrated that the truly steady hand belonged not to the distinguished surgeon, but to the indomitable character of Jade Thompson.

It's a typical JL style movie back to 90s-2000 but this still cannot best JL ones. It's not too bad but when comparing similar style movie. And the leading actress doesn't have JL characteristics at all. Miss you Jen!

All-in-all this was a great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, at times, I couldn't understand what the husband was saying. His accent was thick and he talked very fast. I had to keep rewinding to try to understand what he was saying. Other than that, great movie with a fantastic cast!

I love Megan and always look forward to her movies and this story is hard to watch but it happens everyday and most dont live to tell their story. As much as most dont want this to be a true story it is. You can't compare it to another movies like Enough because that was fiction. This actually happened and the fact that a real woman had to endure this is terrifying. I am glad her story was told. I think it was a good movie.

I have seen a lot of LMN movie and so far the new ones have not let me down. Girl in the basement, although hard to watch, was the first great movie. Now this one, that didn't even feel like a typical Lifetime movie. I cannot wait to see what else they bring to the table next. So that some poor review knows, I am not part of the cast nor am I a friend of anyone in this movie. Just a regular woman who found this movie to be pretty amazing. A must see for sure, highly recommend.

Loved this movie from the beginning to the end. I thought the acting was great as well as the storyline. Full disclosure. I rarely watch Lifetime. I watch LMN daily. I thought both networks showed the same type of movies. But this is such a welcome change from the LMN psycho women who do nothing but kill just for the fun if it. This was a cleverly, well thought out plot for revenge. You did good Meagan. BTW. I have no affiliation with the cast of this movie, the writers, the producers, etc. I am just your ordinary movie viewer.
