A segment of the series "Unresolved Conundrums" that centers on the exploits of Weed Wolf, a totally gnarly stoner Sasquatch figure who distributes marijuana. Weed Wolf first materialized in the late 60s and flourished throughout the 70s. Alas, Weed Wolf fell out of favor with the public at large in the early 80s because of the advent of cocaine. Fortunately, thanks to 90s grunge culture Weed Wolf has experienced a resurgence in popularity. Director Joe DeJulius and writer Matt Kelley neatly milk an amusing line in affably inane humor (one pothead who's interviewed about Weed Wolf is identified as "very dirty hippie"!) and maintain a likable lighthearted tone throughout. The engaging cast play their parts with admirable zest: Tim Heurlin delivers a wickedly hilarious deadpan caricature of Robert Stack as glumly serious host Robert Pile, Joe Avella gives an inspired portrayal of the pompous Dr. Darius Expert, plus there are nifty turns by Patrick Fee as white homey Silky Smooth, Matt Kelley as long-haired doper Groovy Greg, and Kate Lambert as fetching groupie Karla. Bonus points for the fact that Weed Wolf is played by some dude in a laughably hokey dime-store rubber mask and the spot-on final gag with Weed Wolf giving Robert Pile a bong (before anyone asks, yes Pile does indeed light up and take a hit). An absolute hoot.
