not as good as the prequel, here's why
lmnclips20 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First off, this Samantha lady is so stupid! She was so dumb and naive enough to trust a complete stranger who just came up to her while she was having dinner. Hasn't she learned from the previous movie not to trust some random dude you don't know?

Second, she was also so naive to just hop onto a random van, without giving it a second thought. The van looked suspicious, and had "stranger danger" written all over it. It became clear that she regretted her choice of entering the van when the driver started driving recklessly, taking them to the kidnappers.

Third off, there was too much punching kicking and slapping in this movie, which I don't find very appealing in a lifetime movie. The people who direct these types of movies are in no condition to work for lifetime! not hating on them though, just my opinion!

And last of all. Samantha being stupid again. She would know better than to take a glass of champagne from a man. Since I saw Cesar put something in her drink before offering it to her. Again, she is naive and very stupid enough to still trust a complete stranger, especially after the events of the previous movie.

Great scenery and filming locations

I found the actual plot confusing and poorly written however I enjoyed it anyway as it was a typical Lifetime movie. Great scenery and attractive cast.

Interesting Phenomenon
Stoshie21 March 2021
I noticed that very often when these TV movies first are aired, the ratings for them are somewhat high. Then as more people review them, they fall to where they more accurately belong.

A few hours ago this movie had a 7.1 rating. It is down to 6.2 as I write this. It should drop further, considering how bad it is. I don't like writing reviews with spoilers in them, so I'll skip all the plot holes that you could drive a cruise ship through. Suffice it to say the plot is ludicrous, and, as is often the case with these movies, the actions of the good guys make no sense.

I generally don't like picking on actors, but Corin Nemec is seriously miscast here. He doesn't do much more than take up space, like a placeholder. I'm not sure he is capable of playing anything other than a nice guy, which just doesn't work in this movie.

The worst part is that there is obviously going to be another sequel, another movie picking up where this one left off. Oh, joy.

The only slightly redeeming quality with this movie is that we get to see Alexandria DeBerry prance around in a teeny bikini through most of the movie. That somewhat distracted me from her vapid acting.

My four stars might be generous. But the bikini itself earned one extra star.

Too horrible for words
deedrala21 March 2021
Can't believe I wasted 2 hours on this mess of bad writing, bad acting, and bad directing. Just too ridiculously completely bad to be believed. And for cripes sake, do something with the teenager-wannabe Armstrong's HAIR - a hot straggly mess of long black roots and bad bleach job....uckkk.

And please get someone else to play a few of the male lead roles in LMN movies other than Corin Nemec! There really are other actors in the world - he doesn't have to be in 7 out of 10 Lifetime flicks. He's nothing to look at and numbingly boring, but at least he didn't take his glasses off and on 500 times throughout the movie like the last dumb flick I saw him in.

Yuck!

A big letdown as a sequel
hoops-5343621 March 2021
We watched this with much anticipation, after having enjoyed the original Deadly Excursion. We were let down early and often. The acting (especially by the lead females) was sophomoric- is freshmanic a word? Samaire Armstrong, who was so engaging and gorgeous in the original movie was disappointing here. And what with all the eye makeup, especially early in the film? That's all we could look at when she was on the screen. Unless they used a stand in, Samaire is a pretty good runner. She ran well in this movie as well as in the original. The bad guys were terrible, Miguel made us laugh with all his ridiculous attempts to woo Ellie. And, speaking of Ellie, Alexandria DeBerry was a total disappointment in this movie. It was as if it was her first acting gig ever. She had been pretty good in the original. OK, I shouldn't say a total disappointment- she wore a bikini a lot and looked pretty good. Maybe they should have used her only in scenes where she did not have to act or say anything. Too many plot holes to discuss in this review. No explanation of where or why the money got involved.

... stop making these awful movies
Rebekahjanel13 April 2021
Not sure where to start - this is garbage. Samaire Armstrong is literally the worst actress imaginable. If I could rate this a - 5 I would, but unfortunately I cannot. Awful, awful trash.

VIEWS ON FILM review of Deadly Excursion: Kidnapped from the Beach
burlesonjesse526 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"It's finally over". That's what I said to myself after watching Deadly Excursion: Kidnapped from the Beach. "Kidnapped" is a sequel to 2019's Deadly Excursion. I haven't seen the first film and I didn't like this camp fest either. Curiously though, I plan on going back to where it all started with these toolbox characters.

Deadly Excursion: Kidnapped from the Beach was released in January 2021 (with its premiere in Cleveland, OH. Wha?). It's a Lifetime Flick but it sure doesn't feel like one. "Kidnapped" is more like a bad Miami Vice episode with its villains putting on a pseudo macho front. Somewhere in the afterlife the late Tony Montana is also laughing his caboose off.

Deadly Excursion: Kidnapped from the Beach has shoddy production values even for a supposed Lifetime-er (if you look close there's some real fake CGI going on). There's also the worst overacting I've ever seen by Lifetime veteran Corin Nemec. Nemec's David McCarthy gets knocked out on multiple occasions and becomes pierced by a bullet. Surprisingly, the dude gets right back up even though he should be at a hospital getting checked for possible brain damage.

The casting in "Kidnapped", well it's pretty bad. The mother and daughter leads look like they could be sisters. The father and son antagonists appear like they could be brothers. Finally, there's a henchman named Eduardo who looks like Billy Crystal with five pounds of wrinkle cream added.

Deadly Excursion: Kidnapped from the Beach is well, pretty explanatory. It's about a wife, a husband, and their daughter being taken by a crime lord who wants to extort $200,000 from them. Look for most of the proceedings to take place on a beach in Florida (shocker). Also look for some bad, evasive running on screen from star Samaire Armstrong (she's certainly no Joan Benoit).

Before "Kidnapped" concludes, a final scene suggests that the gateway is open to yet another sequel. Here's a proposed title: Deadly Excursion: "Dead" On Arrival.

Wasted my time
jesst-9158017 April 2021
It's so insanely drawn out, it feels like there will never be a conclusion. I can't even tell you how many times they swapped around who was the one kidnapped between the daughter/father/mother, it kept flip-flopping around. The acting is so-so but the plot is not good.

OK, but not as good as the original from 2019
Chartreuse118 July 2021
Samaire Armstrong really carries this Lifetime movie with so much drama and physical action. This time with daughter Ellie going to Florida for a beach volleyball championship and her parents go with her. Perfect when younger brother Ian Leblanc is still at large. This movie was OK and the scenery was great but it dragged quite a bit. Not recommended.

Good Movie
dmackiepi-8005420 March 2021
Really good movie for LMV. Best TV movie I have seen in years. Actors are pretty good. The actors playing the bad guys are very convincing and had me really believing the story line. Beautiful scenery in Florida.

Warning: Spoilers
OK so the sequel was an improvement on the original. But come on forgiving and forgetting what Ian did in the first movie? Especially when it was him who stashed the punk gangster's money in the first place. Oh and obviously the writers had a third sequel in mind the way the movie ended!

Really pretty good LMN movie - held my attention!
mja5820 March 2021
This was one of those movies were I was not inclined to drink while watching it. I would recommend this movie if you are looking to pass some time and not waste it.

Look for:

1. The ethnicity of the bad guys - they were all Hispanic - I found this kinda offensive.

2. The sometimes extreme violence against both men AND women. Corin Nemec was beat up to a disgusting extent.

3. Mother and daughter looking like SISTERS!

4. The clothes that the women wore.

5. Mother's ability to beat up other MEN (even really big ones).

6. The icky uncle on the island with all the women.

7. The hint of another sequel (as this was a sequel to Deadly Excursion).
