Better episode than the last
ldamena31 March 2021
First episode where I felt that season 7 may not be as bad as I was thinking it was gonna be. Psych was actually a good villain. The Flash should have more villains like this from now on; not the lame ones it had the last two seasons. Anyway, the dilemma he put Barry and the rest of the team was chilling and entertaining. This is what this show was missing. Though Barry's internal conflict is repetitive I'm glad Cecile was there for him. The Frost/Caitlin moments were heartwarming and look Joe and Iris West actually interacting? SHOCKER! All in all better than I expected. Hopefully the rest of the season doesn't lose it's way.

This was actually good
melnikovvladimir31 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Aside from Iris "having a gut feeling" about Comission member when the police captain doesn't (which is really dumb if you ask me) and Barry crying over a villain who he couldn't beat (it is his main character trait now, huh?), it was a decent episode.

Psych has a really cool, almost frightening, concept. ForceQuest still looks interesting, as in 2 previous episodes. My main issue, if you can even call it that way, with this episode is that with such "masterpieces" like 6x19, 7x03 and 7x04 it's an exception, not a rule, to have a really good episode.

Interesting subplots.
datrucarbondate7 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There are some interesting things going on, but the main villain, Psych, was garbage. He could have been a good villain for an episode of BTBATB, but a guy in a mask who just stands there and gives people nightmares isn't real compelling stuff. Still, the subplot with Snow and Frost was interesting, as was the speed force showing up in human form.

Way better than the last 2 episodes
tomcode31 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Can I say one thing that made me happy about this episode! They focused on Barry not Iris. We're actually going somewhere with this Speedforce storyline. I don't want Barry to lose his speed again cause it's repetitive. The Villain Psych was pretty good way better than the Walmart version of She Hulk. Seeing teases of our old villains like Thawne and Savitar and the Thinker were nice. The next episode looks pretty funny. 2nd best episode so far I give a 8.6/10.

Also this episode should be higher than a 7.9 you kidding me it would've been if bozos weren't rating it a 1/10s before the episode even started.

Eric Wallace's Vacation is over, and it shows!
demigodshmurda7 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I can see now that Eric Wallace must've taken a poorly timed vacation ahead of Season 7's production resuming. He's back, and it shows. This season's struggled in his absence, what with episodes like "All's Wells That Ends Wells" and "Mother" somehow being greenlit for filming. I can see now that the season's regaining its footing with Eric back at the helm.

For starters, Psych is awesome! All of the effects on him are incredible! I especially love the way that they shot him walking several times and put them over each other! It gave him this really creepy effect that they were able to execute on really well. Also, all of the visions that we got to see were super cool! The biggest standouts were Savitar stabbing Barry and saying the "You lose, Barry" line directly from season 3, Frost getting arrested, and Iris saying "When you let me die, you killed our children too", which clearly hinted at the Tornado Twins finally making an appearance this season. Also, that final scene gave Candice some real room to act, which I'm all about!

Speaking of Iris, her scene with Joe had to be the weakest part of the episode. Joe in general was pretty weak this week. Come on, Kristen Kramer was more suspicious than Ramsey Rosso not one season ago. Of course, he eventually comes to his senses, but this man used to be a police detective. Shouldn't he have noticed something was off?

Everything with Frost and Caitlin was also really good this week. I like the writers deciding to expand upon this storyline Frost was on last season where she wanted to have a life, especially with Kristen Kramer on her tail. And on the flipside, Caitlin actually misses hearing Frost's voice in her head and wants them to get back together. You're really able to understand both sides here, and it's great! Plus, with Frost's fear being that Caitlin will turn her in, that's another layer that can be added to their relationship, possibly having to build up trust on Frost's side. I just hope Caitlin doesn't leave the show in favor of Frost staying. I'd honestly rather they both be there permanently, even though it would require a lot more work from Danielle Panabaker behind the scenes.

One more minor gripe with the episode would be Cecile saving the city. Nothing against her, and I like Danielle Nicolet in the role, but overall the scene was just ever so slightly on the campy and ridiculous side. It served its purpose though, and didn't really take away from Psych's phenominal first appearance. Plus, it was cool seeing them dust off DeVoe's high chair. Though I'm not a huge fan of DeVoe's storyline, or season 4 as a whole, easter eggs and references like this are the kind of things that prove Eric Wallace is back at the helm. (Although I recall "Thinker Barry" disassembling it for his super speed thinking in episode 2, but nobody's perfect, alright?)

And then, we have to talk about Michelle Harrison and the return of the Speed Force Avatar. When she first showed up, I immediately thought that Barry was gonna have to watch her die again, which just made me feel bad again, but she's never been a hinderance for the show, and has always stood her ground really well in the role of Nora Allen and the Speed Force Avatar before. I'm intrigued about where this season's going.

Overall, a really solid episode. A few gripes, but nothing that takes away from the experience. Psych is a cool force to see later down the line, and all the stuff with his powers make for some really nice set pieces later on. All the stuff with the "Force Quest" is going pretty nicely so far in general, and Barry's vision of everyone dying is very Avengers Age Of Ultron, and I love it! Welcome back, Eric Wallace! We've missed you!

Not bad.
wetmars1 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Psych wasn't that bad. He was indeed intriguing. I would like to see more of him, but we most likely will. At least, the episode wasn't rushed at all. Barry and his team were discussing how they normally would in the earlier seasons. I quite like that. I enjoyed the flashbacks that featured the Reverse Flash and especially Savitar, some sweet memories. Cecile is really getting some good character moments. Talk about the Thinker, lol.

Nora is back. I can't believe it. My heart was broken when she left Season 5 due to Reverse-Flash manipulating her. Of course, there are problems in this problem that are weird but whatever. The next episode will be interesting.

STOP RATING BEFORE YOU WATCH
mschauer-2967230 March 2021
People have to stop giving 0's, 1's and 5's as rating before the show even airs on TV. If you hate the show than don't watch it. I will edit this later after I watch it.

Edit. No spoilers but the show is really good, psych is a good terrifying villain and shows to be a big handful for team flash. Caitlin and Killer Frost have a wholesome moment. Cisco and Joe are great as always. Big things ahead for this show.

Its good to see barry face his fears for once. A bit of a different villain for once not villains based on other villains. And a bit of a surprise when barrys mum comes flying down out of nowhere.

[6.6] Iris having her biggest fears!
cjonesas4 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 5: Actually a good episode, watched with super speed. When you watch an episode with super speed and it's still good, it speaks length.

Good storyline plots, nice villain and Iris not being in the picture actually make it a nearly great episode.

Great Episode everyone had something
warriorytx31 March 2021
I thought it was a great episode, Phych I thought was a great villain, didn't get much screen time but, that's what's intriguing about him. Although I've been a fan of Iris in Seasons 6 and 7 so far I liked her lack of screen time since the episode was about Barry, Cecile, Caitlin and Frost with Cameos from the others I guess.

They should keep doing this honestly, give an episode to certain characters.

One last thing that speech from Cecile to Barry was really well acted by Danielle Nicolet and Grant Gustin kudos to them.

Epic episode
aukevdakker4 April 2021
Such a good episode. Psych was a surprisingly good villain. I even really liked cecile in this episode while I don't like her in other episodes. That hallucinations were cool and slightly emotional (I'm so glad barrys hallucination wasn't just about iris dying). Caitlin en Frost interacting was al fun and the cliffhanger was awesome. So yet again a great flash episode.

probably best episode in this season so far...
bacoddngentoddd2 April 2021
The pep-talk and the drama isn't annoying and cheesy, the villain is also really good, no talking to villains and just straight to the fight. If they keep doing this i'm really sure this series will be good as season 1 and 2 again.

The Flash's worst nightmare
RahulM0071 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The fifth episode of the seventh season titled "Fear Me" continues the streak the Flash is on. It delved deeper into the different forces Team Flash created. So far we have seen the strength and sage force. Chillblaine aka the new Captain Cold will possess the sage force, and appear in episode 7 and 8.

Right off the bat, I thoroughly enjoyed all scenes with Cisco and Frost. Cisco is much goofier and light hearted this season. Frost and Cisco's witty banter fitted nicely in this episode. Cisco referencing Marvel's She-Hulk, the tv show "This Is Us" and indirectly breaking the fourth wall ("That's a Tuesday for you") is just few of the reasons why I love this character.

This episode featured a nice parallel to season 3 episode 9 when Savitar stabbed Iris. In this episode, this scene was recreated in a sense, but instead of Iris, it was Barry who was stabbed by Savitar in the exact same way. Also, the callbacks to the previous villains was a nice touch.

Cecile got the recognition she deserves in this episode. She was really the most valuable Team Flash member. Cecile used the Thinker's chair and her empath abilities to defeat Psych. I wonder who the person behind the mask is. Psych will definitely return by the end of the third graphic novel, and may also stick around for the fourth graphic novel.

Kristen Kramer was introduced in this episode and will cause some problems for Team Flash, specifically Frost. The actress portraying Kristen Kramer was actually in the fourth season of Arrow. I guess this is another Crisis change.

It is rather disappointing that neither Allegra nor Chester appeared in this episode. They are brilliant additions to Team Flash and their absence was particularly noticeable.

The overarching theme of the episode was overcoming fear and not letting your anxiety get the better of you. As a person who is suffering from social anxiety, I can particularly relate to this. Each character's struggle with anxiety felt realistic and well executed.

To conclude, The Flash has been consistently knocking it out of the park this season. It brought back a much goofier version of Cisco and gave Frost an interesting story arc this season. Next week's episode will mostly be centred around Cisco and Chester travelling to the nineties. I presume that Barry will still be in a coma for most of the sixth episode.

Side note: I loved the moment when Barry briefly name dropped Godzilla. Considering that this episode was never intended to be released during the same week as Godzilla vs. Kong, it was still a fun reference.

Final verdict: 9.8/10.

This is what happens when the show is not revolving around one character named "iris" , but it is known that the flash lately rarely have two good episodes in a row so lets see what happens.

Great episode!!!
sanjuparampil31 March 2021
After a very long time, to see something great like this. Psych was a good villain. However I am still confused with the isotope concept they use for villains like friesta and psych.

Great CGI though to be frank. Hope the season gets better.

Way better than the 2 previous episodes!!
juanmaprior5 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode's been pretty enjoyable in my opinion. Barry has proved finally (after a long time) his scientific skills when searching the other forces. Besides, I feel this episode as one of the creepiest of the series with all the fear issue. I really enjoyed watching Barry's fears, and I so glad we were given Thawne, savitar, and Devoe's callback. Finally I've just felt like if I was watching a truly episode of The Flash after the last two weak episodes. Why couldn't they make all the episodes like this one?? Or even like 7x02?? Anyway, I'm in with all the forces plot, let's see how they carry out them in next episodes.

Pd: I think this episode deserves better than just 7,8.

"This show is dying and there's nothing we can do about it hahaha hahaha"
eduard-0203931 March 2021
It's pathetic how people are still saying this after we got a few episodes where this show is back on track, regardless of how season 4 and 5 were. People are still saying that this show is focusing more on Iris than Barry, and honestly, I don't know what kind of brain problem theu have. After this episode, it's clearer to me that Eric Wallace is improving the show, and he's showing us that this show is not definitely over.

The people who say that this show is called The Iris or "this show is trash" or "this show is not what it used to be", believe me, you've never been flash fans all along. Trust me, you're lying to yourself by saying that.

This episode has been amazing, and you can't tell us, true flash fans, otherwise.

Have a nice day.

Such a good episode
dsptanmay31 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Like my title says, I thought the episode was done really well.

Barry is smart again, and makes the plans to defeat the villain. But at the same time, he still has his emotional moments and is still the Barry we know.

The return of the SpeedForce was quite shocking (to say the least) and it ties into the Force Quest arc quite well.

Psych was presented really well and posed a good threat to Team Flash.

Hyped for the next episode.

Best episode of the season
miguelcesar1 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Good Story.... the lack of Iris really made this episode better. But every time she appears the episode got worse, i think we really need a break from Iris.

Cecille was amazing in this episode, she should be the one that works with the team , not Iris.

Barry shpuld have been the one who at least, save some people. But still got a good arc.

Hardly any Iris = Good episode

Wow, the 2 good episodes this season have had hardly any Iris in them, and has focused on the heroes and the OG cast members. That's not exactly a coincidence!
