- TriviaOriginally aired on July 3, 1976 - the day between the two-hundredth anniversary of the Second Continental Congress' approval of the Lee Resolution officially declaring America's independence on July 2, 1776, and its formal approval on July 4: right between the US's "true" and its "official" Independence Day.
- Goofs"A committee was formed to write it: Benjamin Franklin, Philip Livingston, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Thomas Jefferson," say the lyrics. Philip Livingston signed the Declaration, but was not on the committee that drafted it. ROBERT Livingston was on the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration, but was recalled to New York, and did not sign.

Featured review
With today being the Fourth of July, therefore also being another anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, I decided to rewatch this "Schoolhouse Rock!" ep entitled "Fireworks" for the occasion. Written by Lynn Ahrens and sung by Grady Tate, the latter warbles about the wonders of fireworks and mentions that in 1776 there were fireworks too-the peoples' opinion kind about England's King George III not caring about his then-colonies' welfare. Since this was an animated short meant to be shown between various Saturday morning programs on ABC during the '70s, there's some amusing humor like when one of the colonists reads a paper, words are written above his head as him asking, "No comics?". And, whenever "the pursuit of happiness" part of the DOI is quoted, a man chasing a woman is flashed by. So on that note, "Fireworks" is another educationally entertaining "Schoolhouse Rock!" segment. Happy Fourth, everyone!
