It is what you expect.

Nothing new here really. Even though it has David White, this is not a Christian movie per se, even though it hints at it from time to time.

It might have been better if it was written better and had a better believable villain. If you can rent it for a few dollars then go ahead. Don't expect much sorry to say.

If they had the budget to to make this movie they could have done a better job. David Whit needs to stop trying to be a tough guy. He just doesn't fit the role. Stick to comedy drama or cast someone else please.

I hate to rate Christian movies or actors low, but hey, it is what it is.

The Latest Bland Pure Flix Movie
jeremiah_dansereau13 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Love on the Rock is David A. R. White's latest attempt to play the action-comedy movie card... and unfortunately, it falls flat, White plays a retired, widowed Chicago cop who is quietly retired in Greece. But when a vile containing a chemical that can cure all diseases falls into his hands, its up to him and his new lady companion to stop the vile from falling into "GENERIC EVIL BUSINESS CORPORATION's" hands. While White has played the stoic, badass hero in several of his own movies, this is pretty much his first attempt at a more comical action character... and It shows, many of the quips and attempts at humor just totally miss.

The Story (as I just laid out) is just as by the numbers as you would expect, but probably the worst part is the MESSAGE. Jeff Fahey plays a pastor who mentors White for the Christian parts of the movie, and His argument is: Man cannot be trusted so take the Vile and make sure NO-ONE finds it, I find that to be the stupidest advice ever!

Anyways: if you are one of the "All Hollywood movies are of the Devil" type of people but doesn't want to spend a Sunday afternoon watching God's Not Dead for the 10th time, Then perhaps you would like to check out Love on the Rock.

A bit of Romance, a bit of Agents and a lot of views
StrayFeral14 December 2021
It does not happen often to me to fall in love with a movie, but here I am. And I wonder why.

No. This is not the best secret agents movie you are going to see. Not the best thriller either. Not the best action. And yet there is really something about it.

Let me see. First of all I see some sites label it as an Adventure. I guess you can say that, but it is an extremely lightweight Action movie. And somehow all the time I felt that nostalgic something, coming from the good old late 80s action movies. I even can't exactly realize where in this movie it is weaven, but it is definitely there. And it came to me from various aspects of the movie.

I already said - this is not the best Action movie you're gonna see, but I can't hide I fell in love with it on the opening credits. To be honest, I felt something even on the trailer. And there is this cool poster too.

It all begins with beautiful views, mostly aerial of Malta. The entire movie is soaked with beautiful views, mostly aerial all the time. I give ten out of ten for cinematography and editing here. Really great work. Nice title work too - fontfaces, sizes and everything was greatly selected. Also - one of the few movies which tries to stick to the good old ninety minute limit. Never got me bored.

Let's discuss the cast. The only familiar name to me was Jeff Fahey. I don't remember seeing him much after "The Lawnmower Man", but I really loved his character there. In this movie however he barely shows and still it was a nice presence. Good selection of Villains. One of them was so much like Dolph Lundgren. I like how the actors did the characters. All of them.

Story is the weak point of the movie, and still I do tolerate it because of everything else.

So my favorite part are the views and the music. Let me first mention - they did great soundwork. First is the audio editing - the mixing and mastering - I love how they did it. But the music takes full credit, along with the camera work for the 80s nostalgic feelings I mentioned, because the music plus the views and the little romance we see are really the three things which we had in the old action movies.

And still - the music is great from the very begining. And I rewinded the end credits few times to listen to the end credits song. I can't believe the soundtrack is not uploaded anywhere!! I want to listen to this!! Seriously!!

So now I am trying to find this guy, who wrote the songs. Looks like he lives off the grid, because he last wrote on his Twitter in 2018. Come on bro! Seems Instagram never heard of him either. So weird.

If anyone knows that guy or the guy who wrote the actual movie score music, please let me know. For sure I want to get the entire soundtrack, so tell them to upload it. I personally use YouTube Music (former Google Play Music), but noticed he is not much on the streaming platforms, such as Apple Music or Spotify.

This is very much all. I recommend this movie to all. Suitable pretty much for the whole family - not much blood, rare fights, not brutal.

Enjoy!

I'm not much of a movie reviewer but...

I find this a pretty good movie. Maybe it's because I'm partial to David A. R. White but I liked it. I found it was a bit slow and hard to understand in the beginning but it weird it self out and all the kinks started flowing smoothly. I watched it on PureFlix so I kind of expected it to be a quote unquote Faith based move, and it had hints of being as such, but when I saw John Lovitz in it I started to wonder about the faith part.. haha! But all the actors worked well together and it kept my attention throughout the film.

Again, I'm not much of a movie reviewer and I don't normally gravitate towards action packed movies, but when I saw it had David in it I decided to give it a chance and I'm happy I did.

In my unpopular opinion: 8/10 stars!
