Two couples from different generations confront their issues after marriage.

Kuku loves Naina since his school days and proposes her during his teens and later gets married with blessing of his parents Bheem and Geeta.A little while after marriage they shift to Canada where Naina is career oriented and Kuku struggles for a job where their relationship is on rocks and both decide to separate by filling for divorce.Kuku requests Naina that they should wait until wedding of his sister Ginny and then revel their parents and travel to India for the wedding.Upon reaching India Naina forces Kuku to revel his parents about their separation before the wedding as she has got a job offer in New York and cant let it go.Kuku takes the courage and decides to speak to Bheem over drinks but is shocked to hear that his father himself wants to divorce his mother Geeta and that he is having an affair with Meera.—alex.mjacko@gmail.com

Kuldeep "Kukoo" Saini (Varun Dhawan) and Nainaa Sharma (Kiara Advani) were high school sweethearts who tied the knot. Even in school, Kukoo fought for Nainaa if some other boy tried to hit on her. They were madly in love with each other by the time they got to college and Nainaa happily accepted Kukoo's proposal to get married.

Now settled in Toronto, Canada, they're sensing the strain of their time together. Within five years, the couple's marital life is strained due to prolonged silences, unfinished conversations and resentful hearts. Nainaa thrives in a corporate role, while Kukoo spends his nights as a nightclub bouncer. Nainaa has a tempting offer: a VP of HR position in New York City. Yet, she hasn't broached the subject with Kukoo.

On their wedding anniversary, Nainaa and Kukoo confess to each other about their stressed marital lives and plan to divorce each other once Kukoo's sister Ginny is married. Kukoo is bitter with Nainaa for bringing him to Canada, away from his family, and Nainaa believes that Kukoo is ungrateful and does not appreciate all she does for him. They journey to Patiala for Kukoo's sister Ginny's (Prajakta Koli) wedding. To maintain appearances until Ginny is wedded, Kukoo and Nainaa agree to delay their divorce until after the festivities. Nainaa and Kukoo pretend to be happy, unwilling to disturb the vibes of Ginny's marriage.

The duo arrives in Punjab and are welcomed by Kukoo's family. The engagement party goes off without a hitch. Ginny has conflicted feelings for her former boyfriend, Gaurav. Turns out Ginny used to date Gaurav (Varun Sood), before deciding to marry Balwinder (Savant Singh Premi).

Nainaa informs Kukoo that she can't wait till the end of Ginny's wedding as her CEO wants to meet her in NYC in 15 days. She wants to inform the 2 families as soon as possible and get on with the divorce formalities. Kukoo stalls her by saying that he will tell his dad Bheem first and then Bheem will handle the family in his own way.

Kukoo sets the scene by arranging a drinks night with Bheem. But before he can say anything, Kukoo comes to know that his father Bheem (Anil Kapoor) has an affair with Kukoo's 12th grade teacher Meera (Tisca Chopra) and that he plans to divorce his wife, Geeta. Kukoo is shocked as Bheem and Geeta have been married for 35 years. Geeta believes that they are an ideal couple and wants Kukoo and Nainaa to learn from them on how to sustain a marriage for a long time.

The next day Bheem takes Kukoo to meet Meera at the local movie theatre, where they often spend time together. Bheem wants Kukoo to take Geeta with him to Canada, once Ginny is married. Meanwhile Ginny plans for Bheem and Geeta to renew their wedding vows on their wedding anniversary, which is just 2 days before her own wedding. Ginny wants Kukoo to help with the funds for the event, but Kukoo refuses saying that this is a bad idea and that he was fired from his job, hence cannot spare any money. But eventually Ginny badgers Kukoo into paying for the ceremony.

Kukoo confides in his best friend Gurpreet (Manish Paul), who is also Nainaa's brother. Gurpreet says that Bheem is lusty and suggests that they solve for the lust. They decide to invite Bheem to Balwinder's bachelor party. Balwinder has ordered Russian dancers for the party. While Bheem has fun at the bachelor party, Ginny kisses Gaurav at her singles night. Kukoo and Gurpreet pay a prostitute to seduce Bheem, but he insults her and tells her to go away from him.

At the same time, Geeta is organizing a Mata Jagran at home and has invited a guru to cure Nainaa's barren womb. Nainaa is fed up when the guru pours milk on her head and declares that she and Kukoo are getting divorced. Next morning, a shocked Geeta confronts Kukoo and Nainaa and tries convincing them to sort their problems out.

Ginny reflects that she still loves Gaurav, but is only marrying Balwinder, since Gaurav has no income and still struggling in the music industry. She wants to settle down like her brother and her father.

Kukoo leaks the news of Bheem's affair to his mom Geeta (Neetu Kapoor). Bheem denies it and says that Kukoo is wrong. Then Bheem acts as a heart failure patient. He is admitted to his friend's hospital. Bheem requests his friend Dr Bhatia to declare that he had a mild heart attack. Everyone is shocked when Dr. Bhatia tells Bheem's family about the (false) heart attack. Once Bheem returns from the hospital, Geeta decides to get Bheem and Meera married. The next day Geeta meets Meera at the temple and declares so. She only asks Meera to wait till Ginny is married.

On hearing this, Kukoo comes home and started arguing with Nainaa and her mother. Kukoo blames Nainaa for being selfish and making him look like a failure in his life. Nainaa says that Kukoo is selfish and the only thing that matters to him is whether he is happy with other's decisions or not. He asks her mother why she wants to hand over her father to another woman. At one point his mother slapped him. Kukoo leaves the house and goes to the bar with Gurpreet. At night Bheem leaves the house and goes to Meera's house to live with her permanently. But Meera disagrees and tells him to leave as she believes that she will never be like Geeta. Bheem suffers and sits on the side of the road.

In the morning, Bheem calls Kukoo and lies to him (That he has learned the error of his ways and that he wants to reconcile with Geeta) and asks him to come and pick him up. Kukoo brings the car and takes Bheem back home. The next morning, he apologizes to Geeta and vows to live with her. Geeta forgives Bheem and Ginny decides to remarry the couple.

On the day of the wedding, after drinking, Kukoo and Gurpreet, Kukoo calls Meera and says that her mother has beaten her and kicked her out of their lives. Meera laughs and replies that her father has fooled them and tells them all the truth (Bheem faked the heart attack and that she was the one who rejected Bheem. Bheem never had a change of heart). Kukoo gets angry and pours water on the wedding pavilion.

Then Gurpreet tells the truth to everyone. Geeta starts crying when she hears this. Nainaa tries to calm Geeta down. Geeta tells Bheem to agree to a divorce and Bheem agrees. Ginny bursts out about her insecurity in marrying Balwinder as she still loves someone else while she was all along ready to marry Balwinder as Geeta had once assured her that everything would be right after marriage whereas it did not work out for both the couples.

A few days later they appear in court for the divorce. The court gives them six months. Kukoo and Nainaa were also getting divorced that day. Shortly before the divorce, Kukoo realizes his mistake, apologizes to Nainaa, and offers to go to New York with her. He promises that he will always be with Nainaa. Naina hugs Kukoo and says she will never leave him.

After seeing these, Bheem and Gita also understand them and change their decision. They reunite the whole family. Two weeks later, Kukoo and Nainaa leave for New York. Gurpreet, Bheem and Geeta come to bid them farewell. Two years later, Kukoo and Nainaa have a son, and everyone comes to New York to see them and say Jugjugg Jeeyo.
