Solide episode
sazarkanas25 January 2021
The recent hate for this show is so stupid. The Superman is quite a good at hisd role too and choosing racism as a main theme for the season does not make the show bad.

Good job dealing with current issue on racism in policing.
CoryCA12 April 2021
This season is doing a really good job of depicting issues that we all know exist in policing, that of racism and how visible minorities are treated by a mostly white police force. Contrary to what all the whiners who are giving these episodes low rankings, social justice isn't a mental disease, it's just treating others around you fairly and with respect for simply being human beings. Notice how none of them are criticizing the actions of the character Doug Stanton, and he is racist treatment of black people in the show. This is an issue which needs to be addressed, and we should not shy away from doing so.

This used to be something to look forward to, now it's a task to be completed.

This really has taken a turn for the worse, it's no longer the story that's in focus but politics, and even worse American politics, something we here don't really follow or care about in real life, so fake is worse.

I guess good things don't last.

Welcome to the 21st century!

If you want to watch a cleverly written, executed, up-beat and action packed show that reflects the struggles that cops, women, black, Indigenous, and other people of colour or identity groups face, then this show will take you on a fascinating journey.

On the flipside, if you would rather not be bothered by current issues (this is tough stuff), this may not be the show for you. I see many reviews here and elsewhere using "Politically Correctness" as a way to slam down a show or film that tells a story or speaks to a narrative that some are unfamiliar with or don't care about or get frustrated by. It's as though TV and real world issues should not be intertwined. I get it. It's understandable how these shows, that are rising to the occasion, have seen a hit in their reviews of late and it is unfortunate. I hope that if this is not your cup of a tea, that you just take your ball and go home. Writing a 1 star review every episode because a show "has gone so PC" will likely not change the trajectory of the narrative.

Finally, It's not that we (people who value relevant story-telling) are not watching these shows (pander away please) it's that we don't write reviews. Shame on us.

I loved this episode. I love this season. Way to level up!

Still going strong

Another awesome episode covering alot of great topics.

Whoever is complaining/whining that the content that is in the show is not for the people who watch cop shows, you are wrong lol

I have an issue with real world cops yet watch cop shows, so don't use false logic to try and justify your hate and self centered personality.

This season has been really good, touching on important things that are going on in the world, real world instances and topics a lot of cop shows won't go near due to fear of backlash.

"Woke" is a term used by people who can't seem to understand what's being presented, which is actually quiet easy to understand, if you aren't screaming "all lives matter" whenever something is presented to you that you don't like lol

Another Weak Episode
claudio_carvalho26 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The uninvited Evelyn does not leave Nolan's House and decides to sell a noxious product to the police station, including Sgt. Grey's wife Luna and soon Nolan has another problem to resolve. Sgt. Grey asks West to collect evidence that officer Doug Stanton mistreats poor and black people, and Tim and Chen are assigned to back him up since Doug may be violent. Harper loses the application of her daughter Lila in the music class. Wesley asks Angela to go to his mother's obstetrician and discloses that he has a genetic problem.

"Sabotage" is another weak episode of "The Rookie". The storylines are neither entertaining nor funny. Does not worth to review the episode. My vote is five.

Social Justice Extreme
jimspencer725 January 2021
This show started out so well and became one of my favorites to watch, but is slowly being pushed off of my list. First, Hollywood thinks it's my arbiter for who to vote for, now they place themselves as arbiters of social justice and the truth is that Hollywood lives in fantasy where people lie for a living! Get off the soapbox and go back to the police procedural it started as before you destroy the franchise!

I could scream with frustration
Phil-2835 August 2021
I gave 3 stars because this episode has some classic Rookie fun elements and put a smile on my face. The cast as ever are all great actors BUT then the woke bull started again.

Honestly it is so boring and preachy that it just makes you want to turn it off. It would be a huge shame if the show lost its audience and got cancelled because of the woke crap.

I know they probably felt under pressure to do it, but the majority who watch clearly don't want it.

I watched 2 seasons in just 4 days
ricks-7724 February 2021
First 2 season I've watched it in 4 days, now season 3 is a completely different show and it was dreadful to watch the last 3 episodes. Literally I probably watched 10m of each episode and the rest I was on my phone, uninterested. Unless something changes dramatically this show is done! And that's a real shame.

Better than the previous episode this season, but still bad
veleskir25 January 2021
This was closer to season 1 and 2 than the last few episodes this season, but it's still pretty terrible. It doesn't feel like the same show. And I think we all know this is just build up for an even heavier political pandering coming later down the track, especially with the way this episode ended.

Season 3 has become unwatchable
anyon-as26 January 2021
I enjoyed watching season 1 & 2. From episode 2 of season 3, it has been getting increasingly annoying and pretentious, and, unwatchable. A good cop show got ruined.

Getting worse....
sumtim3s00n25 January 2021
Does a woman do anything wrong ever? The guy does nothing but worry and is kind to his pregnant fiance and she does nothing but nag nag nag and throw it in his face. "no we are not pregnant" "no you dont eat this I do" blabla bla nag nag nag... Im getting so tired of this overboard woman empowerment thing in this show, that is so overplayed its ridicuous. I want women to be 100% equal in all aspects and always be independant but this now is putting men down. So he cannot even tell her to stop eating total crap food because its not good for the baby while she acts like its only hers and has nothing to do with him? Its too much.

Or the BLM part, i understand respect and wholeheartedly support it. But man, sometimes Im just waiting for someone to grant sainthood to Jackson . The guy is almost a disney princess, hes so absolutely moral and black and white.

This show was heavily political from the get go but it was somewhat balanced but now, its just going overboard on all sides and almost an add for a certain political party/pol-soc group.

Come back Alexi Hawley
Steelfram27 January 2021
Worst episode yet. I actually got angry watching it, it was so bad. Insulting. This show started out great and has been solid for 2 years. This season has had one good episode, the first, but the change in style and writing is clearly evident since Alexi Hawley is not at the helm. The acting in this episode was even bad, no doubt due in large part to the poor material to work with. West and his contrived and overly dramatic back and forth with Stanton, (who is also bad), his TO, is very weak and not true to life or believable. Nolan's mom gives a very bad performance, and their relationship and screen chemistry is not believable. Sgt Grey and his wife, have a really lame situation too, that is just stupid. The directing was also a bit weak, no doubt also due to a bad story, and the timing and "cute" moments are just anything but. I love Nathan Fillion, but even he can only do so much with the mot horrendous writing and story elements to date. Please come back to good writing, or no one else will. We used to look forward to this show, now we may not keep watching. Very disappointing. Please save the show! There is so little good on for the same reason this show is failing now, bad writing. Is this a systemic Hollywood problem?

Man this show got Preachy

Who doesn't like a well-done moral lesson now and then? When the white TO was told there was hope for him after realizing his previous racialisms, I deleted the episode.

Geeeeeezus
taedirish27 January 2021
First season was "meh" nothing special...2nd season got a lot better, had a decent cliff hanger, but season 3 has become absolute garbage!!! After the political uproar and turmoil in the USA involving police and racial oppression, this show should have hung up its gun belt. Instead it's become this preachy, hour-long Liberal PC spoon feeding of "let's all hold hands" Hollywood garbage. I don't disagree with any of the points they're making, but I don't watch tv to listen to cheesy political messages. Each episode is getting worse and worse. This may be the first Fillion show that I give up on.
