A character says the homicide victim was shot with "silicone coated armor piercing" bullets. In fact, these rounds would pass through a body and not be recoverable as would normal jacketed bullets. Armor piercing bullets are just that- they are designed to pierce metal, so nothing in a body would stop them.
Early on, a character in labor says that she doesn't have an OB because she has a doula. A doula doesn't take the place of a medical provider, or provide any medical services. Assuming the woman in the vacation rental was the doula, she wouldn't have been listening to heart tones or checking blood pressure. She also would have been likely to go to the hospital with her client, and continue to provide emotional and physical support there (a role that was subsequently filled by Nyla).
When Detective Lopez tells Sargeant Grey about La Fiera, he says "LA Fiera? It's a woman?". In Spanish the noun "fiera" is feminine and has no masculine. So, the nickname "La Fiera" could be applied equally to a woman or a man. It cannot be inferred from it that it's a woman.
