Internationally renowned musical theatre producer/director Hugh Wooldridge will lead a master class on musical theatre for Tennessee Repertory Theatre on Monday, November 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. Most recently, Wooldridge adapted and directed the Tim Rice/Abba musical, Chess in Concert, at London's Royal Albert Hall, with a cast that included Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal and Marti Pellow.

Cassavetes favorite Ben Gazzara makes a riveting screen debut as, I kid you not, Jocko de Paris, an oily manipulator at an all-boys' military academy. George Peppard and Pat Hingle co-star in the film, which was written by Calder Willingham, based on his novel End as a Man. Vito Russo extensively discussed the chopped-up Strange One in The Celluloid Closet; one can only wonder what he'd make of this director's cut.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is pleased to present a live screening of Chess In Concert!, the 2008 London concert featuring Idina Menzel & Josh Groban on Wednesday, June 17. Doors open at 8pm and screening is at 9pm. Director Hugh Wooldridge, who adapted and directed Chess In Concert at Royal Albert Hall in May of 2008, will be on hand to introduce the debut public screening and take questions from the audience.
