All is not what it seems
calaub-6269514 July 2021
The movie is pretty good in story telling the Bible even though it loosely follows the text of all major versions; for instance, the serpent was able to walk before God amputated it. Another major aspect of the movie, however, greatly deceptive to the representation of God's creation is the lack of Legos with darker skin tones. The lego people are not resembling this fact as the spectrum from light brown to the darkest skin tones of legos are not displayed as active figures. This one adjustment in the production would make for a higher rating.

NO ANIMATION - STILL PICTURES ONLY
drneglector-3419813 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this was going to be like other LEGO movies out there, only with a biblical theme, but it is not. There is no animation... only still-pictures with voice-over. If you already know the biblical story, this will become boring very fast with no satisfying visuals to feast your eyes on.

The basic biblical story included in this film:

The creation of Adam and Eve and how they ate from the Tree of Knowledge and got kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

Cain murdering his brother Abel.

Since the world got filled with more people it also got filled with more sin. God covers the earth with the flood but not before putting Noah, his family and all the animals in the ark.

Many years after the flood the earth starts to get filled with more people and more sin, again. Now God punishes the people in Babylon, for building a tower as high as Gods own kingdom, by confusing their language and scatter them throughout the earth.

God promise Abraham to make him into a great nation (the land of Canaan : Is-Ra-El). At this point Abraham's faith is so strong that he would blindly sacrifice his own son Issac if God willed it.

Joseph gets betrayed by his brothers and sold as a slave. Later Joseph becomes Egypts favorite slave for interpreting dreams and becomes a free man who takes care of business for Pharaoh. During the seven years of famine Joseph is reunited with his father Jacob and his brothers.

The Pharaoh is worried that the Hebrews one day will rise up agains him so he puts them to hard work and kills every Hebrew boy that is born from then on. But the Pharaoh's daughter secretly brings a Hebrew baby boy (Moses) into the Pharaoh's household.

When Moses has grown up he kills an Egyptian, for whipping one of his own kind, and escapes Egypt. One day Moses talks to a burning bush which tells him that he will lead Gods people out of Egypt.

Moses returns to Egypt but the Pharaoh will not listen. God through Moses then releases 10 plagues on Egypt before the Pharaoh gives up. Moses splits the Red Sea and leads the Israelites back to Canaan while the sea swallows the pursuing Egyptians.

When Moses reach the Desert of Sinai, where the Lord had appeared to Moses as a burning bush 40 years earlier, he receives the 10 commandments.

Meanwhile Moses' followers, having given up on him, makes a new calf god of gold but the true God forgives them. Through the desert they eat mana from heaven for 40 years.

Moses passes his staff to Joshua, so he can lead his people to the Promised Land.

END of PART 1. (There is supposed to be two more parts/films).

Just lazy
usfder-7085314 August 2021
There are many good Brickfilms out there that really try to do their best.

This is not one of them.

This is so lazy and unprofessional it could have been made by a 10 Year old.

Instead of actually building backgrounds the Lego Minifigs are used in some random background that may or may not fit the story.

Contacting LEGO for a cease and desist
icemw11 August 2021
Definitely not the type of "creationism" Lego envisioned for their products. Their sets are about adventures and\or discovery, not religious dreck. This is like making e-cigs candy flavored so the kids get into it, stop with the nonsense bible fairy tales.

put a piece of cloth on a leggo figure, take a pic - and repeat for the entire movie
bjbillbc14 September 2021
This isn't even stop action. They've taken lego figures, put some pieces of cloth on them and arranged them in groups for each 'scene'. They then took a picture of the scene and provided narration. Like showing someone a photograph then talking, talking, ....talking Lazy and amateurish.

Clever and impressive.
allielle-9545511 January 2022
I'm really enjoying this film so I want to leave a review now. It's cleverly done and a lot of thought went into it. I'm impressed, actually I'm a little mesmerized by it. I've been watching about a half hour each evening and I wish this film was out when I was teaching Sunday School because I know the children would have loved it. I am looking forward to parts two and three but until them I'll be sharing the link to the film with my friends. As for the vehemently negative reviews, it's clear the writers just don't like the movie's topic otherwise it's hard not to appreciate the effort of the filmmakers.

Terrible
bobarker-879849 May 2022
I thought this would he as good as some other lego movies, it's not. It was filmed in someone's back yard. As far as teaching the stories of the Bible, it neglects to mention what passage or even what characters it is referencing. If you are not overtly familiar you wouldn't know it was Moses until you see the ark. Similar with the tower of babel.

I did enjoy the dinosaurs added to the ark, for no historical or biblical accuracy what so ever.

This was awesome
stephtaylor-6178927 June 2021
I really like this! At first I thought it was kinda silly with the lego people but as I continued to watch, I really got into it. I love how it's just the Bible story straight up, no floof or fluff, in chronological order with fun little sets for the lego characters. I also found the sound and voicing to be well done. The ambience and music is good too. Easy watching but with the entirety of the Bible. I can't wait for all the parts. Then I will probably buy all of it immediately. Love this.

Excellent family viewing
xcnprkt26 April 2021
This is awesome! I'm so glad I found this on Tubi. This captivates the kids, as well as adults. The story is pretty right on. My one son loved that there were dinosaurs on the ark and my other son was very bothered by it. I think this is so creative and simple. The narration is excellent and is what holds it together. Finally something fun, virtuous and biblical for family viewing. So glad I found this. Can't wait for Part 2!!!

Absolute must for Christians with Lego-loving kids!
sjwestbrooks17 March 2022
It seems that all the negative reviews here are from people who either don't like the Bible, don't like stop-motion, or don't like either of them. And to that I say, "Come on! The freaking title of this film is 'The BIBLE: a BRICKFILM!!' Why are you WATCHING THIS, THEN?!" Sorry for the caps; just wanted to get the point across.

This movie is probably the most professional attempt yet to make a Christian movie with Legos. Its production value is much better than you'd think from reading the reviews here. The filmmakers try their best to make a serious movie, even to the point of making an actual miniature Noah's ark out of actual wood! The music is surprisingly pretty good, and the pacing is neither too fast nor too slow, which is quite an achievement considering they had to condense five books of the Bible into two hours. The acting/dialogue can only be criticized in a couple places, those places being from minor nameless characters. All in all, it is my firm belief that the filmmakers did the best with what they had, and made a pretty good movie doing so.

The only major thing I can find fault with in this movie is the creative license. For example, the movie has it rain during the "Cain kills Abel" scene, an obvious inaccuracy as Genesis clearly tells us that it never rained before the Flood. This flaw, however, can only lower my rating of this film to seven stars. If you are a Christian parent/grandparent/babysitter, this is a great movie for children who love Legos!

Beautiful film!
joy_in_jesus6937328 November 2022
Spanning from Adam and Eve all the way to Moses, this movie ties together scripture in a way that makes it easy for kids to understand the heart of God and the whole picture of the Bible. Not only is the script artfully written, but the emotional music, realistic sets, creative camera movement, and superb acting captivate viewers' attention and draw them into the characters' worlds. Another thing I love about The Bible: a Brickfilm is the dedication to portraying God's heart for his people accurately while still being creative. . The Bible: a Brickfilm is the perfect choice for both kids and adults to learn about God and about His loving plan for His people.

I love this movie and I'm sure you will too!
