The first series of 'Alex Rider' (ironically based on the second book) was a success, toning down some of the 'Spy Kids' elements that perhaps blighted the big screen version of 'Stormbreaker', which to be fair I enjoyed.
The show was gritty, it was more true to life, and I was pleased to see it was back.
This first episode of the second run has lots of the plus points that made the original a hit, but also a few of its failings. It promises big drama that it doesn't always deliver upon, and there's a few too many slow moments.
BUT, it's certainly fun and engaging, which goes a long way with me.
