The hanged judge.

I enjoyed very much this criminal investigation story. Some words now about the former Prison of Pont-L'Evêque called the "Joyeuse Prison": this prison has been used for 130 years from 1823 to 1953: it became famous for the treatment of of the prisoners : but also some people said that it became a boarding house for gangsters and there were famous escapes. So the story begins with the discovery of the hanged judge during the visit of the former prison. Two brothers will be in charge of the murder investigation: who was the judge ? When did the judge become famous ? Is this a revenge of a former prisoner who made a holdup in Lisieux in 1984 ? Many questions !! I enjoyed the way that the director managed his film, how little by little new elements appear and will give a new taste to the investigation. Very good performances of Antoine Hamel, Arnaud Binard and Elodie Frenck. PS. About the last years of this prison there is a film "La joyeuse prison" directed by André Berthomieu in 1956 with Michel Simon, Darry Cowl and Robert Dalban !!
