The intimate scene between Nani and Krithi Shetty became controversial as Krithi was a minor when this film was being shot. She was 17 years of age at that time.
In Vasu's (one of the characters played by Nani in the film) bedroom, a poster of a famous film director Mani Ratnam can be seen. This could be seen as a nod to the fact that in real life Nani once cited Mani Ratnam as a major influence on him when it came to getting addicted to movies when he was an undergraduate student.
