Good show, mediocre follow-up

We Baby Bears, without considering the original show, is a decent show. It's art style and animation is well done, and the bears are cute, the voice acting is great, and the premise is interesting.

But as a prequel/spin-off to the original series, it's mediocre. While I do like the bears, setting, and art style, it is basically a polar (or ice) opposite of the original We Bare Bears. Ice Bear is more talkative than I'd want him to be, the premise of the show doesn't make canonical sense compared to the much more realistic nature of the original series (or as realistic as a show with walking and talking bears can be).

This series is good on its own and can definitely find a supportive audience, and is better than other shows that aged down characters. But as a prequel to one of the most unique Cartoon Network series, yeah it's pretty iffy. This show probably wouldn't be getting such a mixed reaction if the original series was still running, and not having this basically be a replacement. While I still somewhat enjoy this new series, this also just makes me want a continuation of the original We Bare Bears, even in comic form.

Adorably Above-Average

We Baby Bears reminds me of an underrated show from the mid-2000's called "All Grown Up!" To showcase how really old I really am, it's a spin-off of Rugrats that imagines the cast as pre-teen kids. While I had good memories of watching the show, All Grown Up wouldn't ever top it's predecessor. And that reflects perfectly on how I feel about We Baby Bears.

We Baby Bears is an inverse of that concept. Instead of following the Bears as adults, they are now orphaned babies who is looking for a home via a Star-touched cardboard box that can traverse time and space. High jinx to follow.

For some positives, the Baby Bears are probably the best part of this show. They're insanely cute, expressive, and their designs translate very well within the Western-Eastern hybrid art style. The child actors playing the trio are actually really good in their roles, which is a rare feat on its own. The backgrounds are gorgeous, some shots taking a page out of Steven Universe's color palette. The fantastical worlds they visit have unique concepts (like a world of vegetable people based loosely on Arthurian legend), and WbB have interesting ideas...with clumsy execution.

Despite the limitless potential of the ideas WbB introduces, the series itself feels constrained and formulaic. The worlds the Bears explore have cool concepts, but are hindered by the short runtime. As such, a lot of the episodes half-reach their potential, and feel predictable or badly rushed at points. And while I love the art style for the Bears, some of the designs of the characters they encounter can be jarring and out-of-place.

Yet despite these issues, I still slightly recommend this show. Just go with expectations that We Baby Bears is not going to overshadow it's seasoned predecessor.

Looks like they took every cliche in the anime universe and melted all together along the baby bears, result = absolute cringe.

Watched two episodes and a half, couldn't stand any further, i wanted to watch something else after the first 20 seconds.

Wonder what made them do this to the bears, they just could've kept going with the original.

Is this the kind of stuff we'll get from now on thanks to everything being offensive for someone? Please 90s, be back on tv.

WE BABY BEARS!

My favorite Cartoon Network show ever. I thought we bare bears was ok but this. THIS! This is on a whole new level. I saw the first episode and a half and I am intrigued. Are these bears gonna find a home. I don't know but the relationships between the core characters is better than in any other Cartoon Network show. Teen titans go isn't the best Cartoon Network show anymore. Guess what is. WE BABY BEARS!

I'm a big fan of We Bare Bears especially the baby bear episodes, but this is um not what I was expecting at all. The art style I don't like at all. Their personalities are way off and Ice bear talks way too much! I thought it was gonna be like the baby bear episodes in We Bare Bears. What were they thinking? I won't be watching it.

Those with more mature tastes in shows seem to be leaving many negative reviews. To each their own, but, really, this is we *BABY* bears, of course it will be more childish and cliche than the original. Babies are annoying. Its not a surprise. I like this show because its stupid bright fun. Thats just my taste. The premise is good, the few songs are really fun, theres a lot of funny moments, animation is good, each episode has a different story and world which is interesting, etc. I always found the original to be annoying at times since grizz and panda acted like babies anyways, now theyre supposed to be that way so i give them a pass and enjoy it more. Ice bear does go off canon though, so i took a star off.

It doesn't feel like we bare bears

In the original show the characters had deep personalities and were very well written, but in this new show they can be described in one word: annoying, I'm Brazilian which makes it even worse because their dubbing in Portuguese is just horrendous, I watched a video from a former employee of the cartoon network who livened up how he wanted the show to be, and WOW would it be so much better, and come on, they were kids in the 90s how would the panda have a cell phone that looks like an iphone 13?

I did not really like it.

This show is nothing but a childish anime wannabe or Pokémon rip-off and it ruined We Bare Bears. Their voices sound really different and not the same because Sam Lavagnino and Duncan Joiner are not returning to voice Baby Grizz and Baby Panda anymore as they are teenagers now and their voices deepen since they went over puberty, especially Panda sounds more like a girl now instead of an actual boy. Even worse, Ice Bear can talk in this show unlike the baby bear episodes of We Bare Bears, He only talks when he is an adult.

We Baby Bears is a follow up to We Bear Bears, and The Baby Bear episodes. I have watched the 2 side by side and can see many differences for 1 thing Their babies, 2 Ice bear talks more in the baby version, and Panda is more adorable in this version! The only thing I don't like about it is that Grizz calls them the fuzzy boys and he says it a lot, Panda even mentions that it gets annoying after a while and I can see Panda's point it kind of gets annoying after a while, but every thing else is fine and I like it! And I'm actually glad that they gave Ice Bear more of a personality with giving him a voice, and having expressions then him not really talking at all like in the We Bear Bears version. Failed reboot.

Should've just kept going on with we bear bears. I couldn't make it past the first episode, I have watched we bear bears for 100s of hours because it's my sons favorite show, but this is terrible. It's not the anime type of art that killed it either, it's just very annoying, doesn't follow the same timeline or stories what so ever. And icebear baby SHOUDLNT have a voice.

The art is beautiful! And the colors are amazing. The bears are super cute and a lot of talent went into the visuals and sound design. Everything in this show is just very nice.

Not for Those Who Enjoyed We Bare Bears

My daughter and I loved We Bare Bears and looked forward to the new series. We loved every We Baby Bears clip as part of the original series. We had some apprehension of the format changing to Anime but waited with open minds. We gave up halfway through the first episode. It was just unwatchable. The worst part was how they completely killed Ice Bear's character. The new baby Ice Bear does not resemble what we have grown to love through the original series.

You might like it if you have no exposure to We Bare Bears and their previous antics as baby bears. It is tough to swallow for previous fans.

Stop the spin off

Trust me this show will not suceed not because it is a reboot,it is because of the art style and remaking stories without any stupid reason like they should do something else, better, maybe a we bare bears in space instead of that 4 plus junior show.

It's fun, the animation is great, the designs are all very cute and enjoyable, the stories are childish and good for mindless fun, compared to most other kid's shows, its high quality and not dumb. I really like this show and so does my little brother.

Poor mans Steven Universe

It's not a terrible show, it really isn't. But the problem is that we had baby bears in the previous we bare bears and this is very much a lazy feeling loosely inspired remake. If no previous show existed with the characters to make comparison it might be passible though the art style is a turn off. Too much of that CalArts look. But there was a previous show, with a more unique style, better voices and better developed stories. Heck, even the music was substantially better. It's a very mediocre offering.

It's Just Not Good

I enjoyed We Bare Bears quite a bit, so when I saw that they made a reboot version with the bears as babies, I figured I'd give it try. After watching multiple episodes of the first season, I wasn't impressed. While this show isn't terrible by any means, it honestly just isn't as good as it used to be. The plot of the episodes is mediocre, and the bears aren't the same. It feels almost as if they're totally different characters, not infant versions of the original ones. Cartoon Network has definitely had worse reboots, such as Teen Titans Go! And Total Dramarama. That being said, it doesn't change the fact that this show is bad.

I don't like this show, i only like the old one we bare bears what did you guys do to the faces,facial expressions, even the legs and feet, they just look like penguins return to the old one please they don't even look like the baby bears from we bare bears and why can't you just add the old characters to this show, i am never getting used to this show and i will never watch it, i am sticking to the old one even if i have to rewatch the episodes again and again, man i hate this show and i hate the new characters,MAKE THE OLD WE BARE BEARS AGAIN NOT SOME ANIME STYLE WE BABY BEARS I HATE THIS!!!

This show is absolutely horrible. As someone who adores we bare bears, this just ruined it all. In the normal we bare bears series, they lived basically a normal life. Sometimes went to the city, had human interactions, pretty chill. I liked how there was only a smidge of baby episodes, they made sense. Now in the new one ; icebear can talk, it reminds me of cringe anime cliches, magic is real here, panda is even more obsessed with the phone at such a younge age and more!! It's just so bad. My dad (big fan of we bare bears) said he absolutely hates it, I agree with him. It makes no sense. Bring back old we bare bears!! I hardly see it on TV anymore!!

Worst spin-off! Close it.

Original We Bare Bears was best as their eyes were the central attracting thing in the cartoon. Now the eyes are large,icebear speaks(not good)as he only started speaking when he was adult. And their appearance is also modified which is nothing close to cuteness.

The ShowMakers should make show according to the needs of the audience , not their thinking.

If they had continued the same story with original animation(we bare bears) and their old eyes. Also with the old voice. I bet it would leave every present cartoon behind very fast. And no matter what , I would really watch it. But not now .

Spinoff?

Not gonna lie, it's too childish. I understand what they tried to do with this spinoff. Even so, i think it was unnecessary. The stories are too weak and it's hard to empathize with the characters. There are some funny moments on the first episodes, but nothing more special or unique. For me, this could be a Cartoonito or Discovery Kids show with no problems, and watching it isn't worth it. However, the colors used here are so bright and i love it.

By the way, sex and nudity is unexistence. The parental control shows a not correct rating. If someone could change that I would be grateful. Thanks.

It tries to be like the og We Bare Bears, but i feel something off.

The script its kinda mediocre and rushed, I feel they could have done better with the show concept.. Like Everything happens so fast and you don't even get that much connection with the characters because oh GOD there is alot of information and there isnt too much backstory or some. Distinctive features for this character. Most of the interesting characters just appears once episode so yea.. I can't get attached to these characters.

The animation/artwork its pretty good tho! It gaves me anime or Studio Ghibli animation vibes. The scenario and backgrounds are just beatiful and the characters desing is actually pretty decent and could be more well explored.

If you enjoy it, good for you but its not for my taste.
