Well, I like the drama..
Malcom-Funk6 January 2014
This is an anime that I feel very ambiguous about. There are some episode (about half of them) that are just pure fun. Characters develop and the drama unfolds perfectly.

But you have to know that this is an anime about acting. And for me, as an acting enthusiast the episodes that revolve around acting are, surprisingly, the worst ones. They try to appeal to people who have no idea about acting what so ever and repeat obvious facts again and again. The pace during the acting scenes is also kinda off, it just does not feel right.

Still, it makes you want to know more about acting and actors. If you haven't before, you'll start seeing actors as what they are - humans. That, combined with at times brilliant drama makes this anime worth watching!

The bible of my heart

"May the bridges I burn light the way"

Even if the anime was bad (and it's great!!!), I would still give it a 10/10 just for introducing me to the original manga - the BEST manga of all time in all of the universes forever. My heart and soul belong to the author since 2009.

This is a story that has defined my outlook on relationships, on the sense of self-worth, on the importance of staying true to yourself and others - it has defined my whole being. The heroine is the absolute best, a true role model for all the girls in the world, her strength and her courage have saved me when I needed it most (and still continue too, as the manga it still ongoing, read it now!!!). Of course you can most fully appreciate this story if you've "been there, done that" - when the best and the dearest betrays, everything crumbles in a second and you are left in the ruins of the sandcastle you've built out of, as it turns out, thin air. You don't want to wake up in the morning - that's when Kyoko grabs you, pushes you forward and screams "You really think that's all there is? That's just the beginning. It's your life, only you decide what to do with it. And we are going forward". This heroine never leaves you bored, makes you proud for her, makes you cry for her and when she succeeds - you feel like your dream has come true too.

Skip Beat is as far away from a typical shoujo as physically possible, no dull and shy heroine, no one-dimensional main hero, no unrealistic love storylines - everything is developing steadily, you can feel all of the emotions, you understand everyone's reasoning and you LAUGH all the time.

This anime has only one disadvantage - it covers only the beginning of the manga (first 60-70 chapters, we are now approaching 300) and the visuals were not at their best in 2007-2008. But it's still amazing!

Watch Skip Beat, read Skip Beat, join the best fandom there is, you won't regret it <3

Absolutely a waste of time to watch!

Warning: Spoilers
I think this is the worst, stupidest and sad anime I've ever seen out there. Its just always everyone b*tching each other involving jealousy and most of all stupidity. The main characters Kyouko, Shou and Ren are just such spolit super star wanna-be brats that they are just so like each other. There's like no difference between these characters at all which makes me feel downright bored and depressed. I thought this anime was all going to be about following your path regardless of people putting you down but instead, it's making you follow the path to getting a massive headache and becoming even more p*seed off. I was so wrong at watching the 6 episodes including the stupid unfinished ending that I should've just watched the few episodes and leave. However luckily enough, I didn't see the whole 25 episodes cause otherwise, my life would be doomed by this anime!

The bits I would change about this anime - have a better storyline including character development. Like just don't always involve most of characters setting the same stupid goal, have at least Kyouko be a sensible girl who would prove Shou a different way, not be like him where she's thinking "I'm going to get revenge on this guy by being a superstar myself".

Absolute BS anime, I do not recommend watching this, it was literally a waste of hours of my time, AVOID!
