Too far out
Galicius29 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
An extremely ambitious young journalist working for a small newspaper in Northern Poland receives anonymous letters concerning his live-in girl friend. The return address only has a Latin phrase "Tibi et Igni" (For you and the fire) which can be interpreted as "Burn upon seeing it). First there are photographs then videos. He has no doubts it's her but his girlfriend denies it. The film is a real mystery up to about this point but the last third and the resolution is too bizarre by the widest stretch of reality. There is a third man in this, a newspaper editor of a rival, bigger publication who stages the whole story. He is recruiting the young journalist from first meeting him. There are even misleading hints that the editor is seriously religious though he turns out to be a murderer in the end. The unrealistic element in the story is that he could not think he could carry this on very long leaving bodies of young women behind.

Brilliant little gem from Poland, watch it if you can!
Frisil25 May 2009
When I watched this movie, I didn't have high expectations for it as I was told it was a very cheap one. But never judge a movie by its production costs! I was completely taken by surprise, because this is one of the best movies I've seen this year! The characters are great, the protagonist is a complete villain without any morals but still the viewer feels sympathy for him. He is a journalist who will do anything for a good story, no matter if he has to plant evidence himself, as we see in the beginning of the movie. He is a great manipulator and in complete control of the people around him.

But one day, he receives a letter with seemingly harmless photographs of his girlfriend, the only strange thing is she tells him she has never been to these places nor met any of the people in the photographs. So he starts his own investigation, and gradually loses control of the world around him and his whole life is falling to pieces.

The movie has a very creepy atmosphere that slowly builds up to the shocking conclusion. All of this is very well done and although the movie runs for almost two hours, it doesn't get boring for a single minute.

If you can get your hands on a DVD, watch it by all means.

Herculean work of two university students, but completely unwatchable.
Piotrus27 July 2010
This movie was produced, directed, written by two university students. There are some good things in it, nice story decent camera work.

First - the main protagonist who is a known journalist is played by a boy with no charisma. Complete miscast. Maybe this actor would be good for a campy romantic comedy but not for this movie, This film lacks a director!

Second - acting is very poor.

But one thing makes it a complete waste of herculean work of these young boys, it's the voices of actors witch are completely ruined.

Most voices of actors were recorded in studio, and they sound just ridiculous and horrendous and the voices don't fit the lip movement. Its probably because most of the actors have no experience in acting or only experience in stage acting. The crew has also no experience in studio recording of voices.

I watched this movie in theater and I almost died, its a disaster. The voices don't fit and the are so poorly done. Watching this movie is like a visit to the dentist whiteout anesthetic.

So the conclusion: this movie is unwatchable, because of the acting skills and voice studio work.

Journalist's life turns upside down
sreejithrr-849-691920 November 2013
The film is a decent try by the crew. It has all signs of low budget film production. But then some decent camera work and a gripping plot save the day. A journalist who uses some unethical ways to boost his career. He has a nexus of facilitators through whom he twists and turns facts to justify his story. He misuses his colleague and neighbor to help in his plans. He even uses his girlfriend to coax a rival business owner to get employment in his firm. He is our typical selfish self centered person. He receives 3 photos of his girlfriend which are snoopy. As he tried to unravel the mystery behind these photos his life turns upside down. His name, love, career are at stake. As he tries to figure out what is happening around him, he also has to solve the link between his girlfriend and the photos
