Nice try, mixed results.
lewiskendell28 December 2010
All-American Orgy (also known as Cumming's Farm) is an odd pastiche of a comedy and a relationship drama. Three couples with various issues agree (for various reasons) to come to a remote farm to have an orgy. Things start out weird and go downhill fast, as various problems come to light.

I guess the closest movie I could compare this to is Y.P.F.  It won't appeal to everyone, but if you liked that movie, then you might like this one. It's funny in places and some of the group dynamics are interesting, but fully three-quarters of the characters are annoying and unlikeable. The story doesn't really go anywhere, and the ending was pretty abrupt. I guess it's sort of appropriate that the messy situation of the plot would be reflected in the movie as a whole, but All-American is really just too undercooked and direction-less for me to recommend. Some of the pieces were here for a good movie, but there's no coherent whole.

Mixed Feeling... yeah
destroyerwod29 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
As probably a lot of other guys, i got this because of the box. Yeah i won't lie, i like juvenile comedies a la American pie. Some are pretty bad, but some end up very funny. And yes i do LOVE the DTV American Pie Presents... Now that being said, lets just say the movie is deceiving. The half naked girl on the box cover don't even appear in the movie, not even a cameo, the title "all American orgy" well... there is not even an orgy in it...

Now i don't blame my vote on this, but there is not even nudity in this... a couple sex scenes yeah, but nothing visible but if own made golden shower(that was disgusting and out of place) or Man Facial Cumshot are you thing... OK to be honest i did laugh at the facial, even tough part of me tough it was disgusting, and i did laugh a couple time during the movie, but the problem is... it does not know what it want to be, For a while its a comedy that include gross stuff out of a juvenile movie, then it become all serious and try to be a dark drama...

Took me a long time to watch this movie, must have it for over a year... at first i wanted to watch it with beer in a juvenile comedy mood, then i realize by the reviews, the trailer, it was not that type at all... So tonight i finally decided to watch it sober, and while doing something on the computer which is also in front of me at the same time. Maybe i didn't gave the movie enough chance... well I'm going to the pawnshop this weekend and i wanted to take it back, i was sure to not like it.

In the end... i actually liked some parts... the comedy aspect where funny, and even tough i didn't saw her in much movies, i really like Aimee-Lynn Chadwick. I feel there is something honest and genuine about her, she look like the sweet neighbour i never had. She played her part well, and Adam Bush was pretty decent too in this. The drug dealer was OK, for the part he had, but somewhat Yasmine, Gordon and that other guy with the ugly haircut really annoyed me. Tina was OK until she freak out at the end...

Actually the whole ending really bothered me, when they said "mayhem that ensue" on the cover, i was expecting your usual misunderstanding and a happy ending. But the movie end on a dark tone, with a weird as hell final scene... and it seem to have no conclusion.

So in the end i would say i liked some part, some character, but there was a lot of negative also, which bothered me. I would say its decent and for this i give it half the points. But thats about it...

The reviews posted here are obviously fake, avoid at all costs
surrealisticpillow28 August 2011
I didn't go into this film with high expectations. As a matter of fact, I sat down expecting to laugh at the horrible production values and hackneyed jokes of what promised to be another juvenile raunch comedy.

If only.

All-American Orgy comes off like one of those straight-to-DVD American Pie sequels, if it were written by a freshman film student trying his hand at social commentary. That is to say, it isn't funny, it isn't sharp, it isn't anything substantial. What it is, is awkward, paceless waste which has a profound humorlessness that is only rivaled by the pathetic desperation of the "commentary."

The positive reviews here are so absurdly glowing that it's like the writers want us to know they're fake. Avoid.

Unfunny attempt at comdey disguised as Natl Lampoon T&A sex romp
mcdman22-30-6093817 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Reading the other reviews made me wonder what safegaurds this site has in place to prevent persons with a vested interest in the production from making positive comments about what seems to be the worst movie I have seen in a few years. I did not laugh. I did not snicker. I did not even crack a smile at this drivel. This whole film might be an elaborate scheme for the writer/actor to get his hands on the breasts of an actress he fancies. Only this would explain how someone can create such an unfunny mess. The writer did succeed in fleshing out some annoying characters who I feel no sympathy. If being annoying was the goal, this tripe hit the mark.

Wonderful, off-beat, comedic drama
KenToo6 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this movie while channel surfing, got hooked, and stopped watching so I could see it from the beginning. It is not so much a comedy as a quirky, slice-of-life tale. I found the realism of the dialogue, and the plot twists, made me feel very much like it was largely autobiographical. This is not a flaw, and if anything made it more riveting. I was not necessarily laughing, or enamored with any of the characters, but I still was riveted by the honesty of it, and I thought the performances were very good.

I do think the marketing per the cover art of the DVD (if accurately reflected above) is hugely misleading, as there is nothing sensual or sexually stirring about this movie. If anything, I had the sense the producers were going out of their way to make this the least sexy orgy movie possible. However, it works very well as an off-beat, quirky and somewhat dark comedic drama. Every scene reinforces the viewers sense that this orgy is going to be a train wreck which, in fact, turns out to be the case, though in a relatively unpredictable fashion.

Overall, it's one of the best movies I've seen the past year and I would highly recommend it. I do wish, however, that they had either set the movie somewhere else (it was set in Louisiana), or had the actors make some effort at speaking with a Southern accent. Apart from Silverman, no one tried in the least to affect any Southern accent, while the storyline generally implied they were Louisiana locals, which I found jarring to my sensibilities. Also, I'm not sure I buy the notion of an ecstasy dealer as hard-up for a good time as the character in the movie appeared to be. Though these and some other flaws made it feel often like a student or low budget film (which it may have been) they did not prevent me from enjoying the overall smartness of the movie.

Don't be drawn in by the title, there is nothing titilating (or entertaining) about this movie
Mccadoo3 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I actually watched this movie on cable one morning when I was home sick with the flu and I have to say, it didn't do much to improve my illness, or my general outlook on life either.

It tries very hard to be edgy and funny and un-pc and all sorts of other things and fails miserably at all of them. I found the main characters to be either pathetic, unlikable, or just plain boring. And half way through the film you've stopped wondering when that actual orgy is going to start (it never really does) and begin wondering what these people could possibly see in one another in the first place. There's lots of dialog that says little, no resolutions to anything, and then it just kind of ends.

The only empathy I felt for any of the characters was for the married woman who's husband had the original idea for the orgy and who is an utterly bankrupt human being, I felt sorry for her having to be married to this loser and sorry for her having to end up a single mom with two kids which is obviously where their relationship was headed. The other two male characters were just clueless idiots and you wonder how either of them ever got a woman to date them let alone agree to attend an orgy with them.

Don't waste your time with this drek, it's a long way around the barn for nothing.

Rubbish
earlshoes9 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is hard to watch. Was there even a man in this? Weasels and wimps is all. Not funny, not deep, just Pathetic, annoying, ugly people. Ugly in both looks and character. What a bunch of losers, except maybe for a couple of winners of a schnoz contest for both men's and women's divisions. I'm sure most people have known creeps like these, but who would want to see an unfunny movie about them ? And think about them having an orgy ? Rubbish.. I should just pad my review with junk words, because it is JUNK ! JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK ! It is that bad. The promotional picture/DVD cover art is misleading. A good ending would have had them broad sided by a speeding semi truck while pulling away. Not the Orgy master liking a Rap demo by some wannabee hacks. Yeah the music biz is unfortunately run by awful people just like the character.

I was extremely surprised it was this good!
angelwind7773 June 2011
It isn't really a comedy, but it has very funny moments. I agree with other reviewers that it looks from the cover of the packaging that is was an "American Pie" or perhaps a bit of something similar. It was nothing like "American Pie" or anything similar to those movies.

It was interesting. It took a bit to get past the vulgarity/crudeness sometime revulsion of many of the images/comments that the characters made BUT it was interesting. It had really good character development and actually a pretty fresh plot. A couple of times I wanted to change the channel or do something else but am very glad I didn't.

The location was unusual as was the sets it employed. The sound contributed a lot. It was pretty high quality which told me almost immediately it was NOT soft porn but perhaps something else. I am not a huge fan of rap/hip hop type music but this added to this movie and did not overshadow it. A Wagner classical death march at one point made me truly pay attention as the classical was not expected.

It does remind me a tiny bit of "Bob and Carol, Ted and Alice..." etc but it was in some ways a very different movie. If this is the first effort by the producer/actors/director I would try to make some more movies for sure! I don't think it had a huge budget but it really did not matter. They were 20/30 somethings who had decided for better or worse to try something new. Another note, the characters didn't look like cookie cutter plastic surgery models. They were quite real. I think each actor especially the women should continue acting.

When I was the title on a premium channel I thought at first it was soft porn because of the time slot but it is not even resembling that. The sound track was actually quite good! It was at moments repulsive almost always interesting and has a good deal of action/interaction going on. Sex surprisingly was not the main focus. There was a certain amount of drugs in this movie but it was a good addition to the story. It made it more believable.

This wasn't my favorite movie I have ever watched but I liked the movie enough to watch it again. As an avid movie viewer I am not easy to please and am often very bored. I think you should give it a try and watch it!

Don't let the marketing deceive you
Scroobious26 March 2011
This is a wonderful movie that was obviously marketed (look at the cover art) to the "American Pie" teenage boy audience. Big mistake. Because they will inevitably be disappointed and they are most likely the majority of votes that have this movie at around a 4.1 rating on IMDb. If the distribution/marketing on this movie had just been honest, or even slightly honest, it would at least have been acknowledged in the indie market. The cover art, title and general feel of the movie will also immediately turn away the exact people that would love this movie. The movie is hilarious, honest and the acting is spot on. The writer of the movie who also plays the sociopath character Todd is stellar and I am amazed, looking at his IMDb page, that he doesn't have multiple projects both writing and acting lined up after making this movie.

This movie reminded me of "The Anniversary," while also making me laugh out loud throughout. Awesome. Hope these guys get another shot or this movie gets the recognition it deserves. Hollywood ad men just ruin stuff cause they think everyone outside of LA and NY are retarded.

Title Change
kosmasp22 September 2011
You could also separate Le Change from my summary and have one single word standing there. If that is what you are expecting from this movie, then better not watch it (though a reviewer here has revealed that he still was entertained by it).

But let's get the elephant out of the room. They should have stuck to the original title (Cummings Farm instead of All American Orgy, as it is called on DVD). But that is not the only deceiving point (as is also stated in the commentary that is on the DVD). You also have the cover/poster, that promises something completely different (which gets mentioned on the commentary too, but not until 72 minutes into the movie).

Enough of that though. Because this is pretty decent. It is more of a commentary or a state of how people communicate. And while this is nothing ground breaking, it is still very well made. On the other hand, if you expect some easy to digest comedy bits, you will be disappointed. And not everything works out in the movie.

While the commentary is funny enough too, trashing themselves (over acting talents or lack of talents) and having a conversation that works with me, but will not appeal to everybody of course.

If your local drug dealer is probably the most sane person in the movie, you know what you're in for (though he's not that sane after all, as we find out). So while not a classic and not a laugh out loud comedy and definitely not what the cover is suggesting, this is a pretty good movie in its own right

One more thing: I was surprised by the music at the beginning and at the end (credits), because it felt like a good production. Which I am not used to, when smaller budgeted movies do urban or temporary music, it always feels out of touch. And while Cash Money or Master P and so on, are a thing of the past, the music that kind of sounds like that, still works for the movie.

A disturbing "comedy"
sammikat12 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
In the tradition of "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" and "Shortbus," this film is about 3 heterosexual couples who get together for a partner-swapping evening, at the behest of Ted, a manipulative sociopath, played by the film's writer. Laura Silverman plays his wife, an obviously damaged woman whose dialog mostly consists of banalities. Gordon, a slightly charming alcoholic is played by Jordan Kessler, who also produced the film. He is initially partnered with Aimee-Lynn Chadwick's Rachel, the putative "hot chick" of the movie. Alan (Adam Busch) is the bespectacled intellectual paired up with Yasmine (Yasmine Jackson) despite the torch he carries for Rachel. The characters are by turns lovable & odious and things go desperately wrong when Ted pushes things too far.

Even though this film definitely has several laugh-out-loud moments, I don't think it is necessarily a comedy. The sexually explicit dialog highlights the misogyny, racism, homophobia, and anti-semitism that is pervasive in 30something white liberals of our day & age.

This a thought-provoking while not provocative film. The director treads the fine line between voyeurism & cinéma vérité very skillfully as he cuts away from certain characters at just the right moments, leaving us to wonder what happens while we aren't watching. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a film that doesn't give easy answers.

Sometimes I cry when I get punched in the face, it's just this thing I do
Cobo_0112 December 2010
OK so I found this movie thinking it was soft porn. By the time I realized it wasn't I didn't even care. By the end of the movie I was nearly pissing myself laughing.

This is one of the most original, intelligent, funniest movies ever. It really shows how unrealistic our societies porno-saturated homophobic expectations of sex are. It'll make you extremely uncomfortable if you're a prude though.

I'm amazed I had never even heard of this, it must have been some huge distribution/advertisement mistake. It's a very well made movie. This is going into my collection of favorites right along with the works of Scorsese and Kubrick. This really is a masterpiece in it's own unique/raunchy/hilarious way.

I wouldn't have sex with any of these guys but what a hoot!
dfcurran4 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
A odd group of friends are going to have an orgy. In the opening the women are the ones pushing for it. But as this odd movie continues, its even odder characters will lead you to the conclusion that there may be problems. I do wish they'd done more with the black drug dealer, but what did happen makes the show what it is: a believable tale of what might happen should some friends try to organize an orgy. Aimee-Lynn Chadwick who plays Rachel is probably the hottest actress in the group but she is also the only one who does not have sex on screen. I was hoping that more would happen between Rachel and Alan (Adam Busch) who were the only more-or-less normal people in the movie. I was not surprised how Laura Silverman's character Tina reacted in the movie and her acting was fine, but she is 16 years older than Chadwick. Somehow I can't see younger adults interested in group sex with someone that much older, who, the movie reveals, they barely seem to know. This movie is interesting and well worth watching.

I was pleasantly surprised
gluesticknacho28 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I'm no seasoned review-writing movie critic, but I love this movie. I came across this on Netflix with a few of my friends, who wanted to watch it because we were all part of the "THIS MOVIE HAS TO HAVE TITS/BE LIKE American PIE" demographic. Despite the fact that they were laughing, only two of the five of us actually claimed to enjoy the movie. The main complaints seemed to be, "nothing happened" and "there were no tits."

I personally can't understand how someone can give this movie a scathing review and feel good about themselves. Sure, it's not the the comedy of the summer, but it's an indie movie, so you can't really expect it to be (though I was hella surprised). Likewise, the characters, dialog and believability of the movie far surpassed anything "Knocked Up" or the "American Pie" series has tried to accomplish. I've seen this three times now (showing it to my other friends), and have only found more reasons to love it. I feel as though this is what normal, albeit lame (yet somehow charming), people would act like if this were a real life situation. There is a great mix of terrible, corny jokes that lame people would make and witty dialog that the writer(s) threw in.

Long story short, ignore the frumpy, sexually frustrated naysayers of this movie and give it a shot. I feel like this has the makings of a cult classic, and if you can bear the vulgarities and occasionally immature humor, there is a lot of merit in this film.

Also, in case you were worried, my friends ended up watching The Naked Mile after this and got their fill of tits.

One of the worst movies ever
rif32720 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
A spoiler? Yes. There's no redeeming ANYTHING to this film. There's a freaking rape scene that i think is supposed to be "funny". How can this possibly be a comedy? The characters highpoints consist of managing to be bland. Most often they're doing something indescribably dysfunctional. Not cutely either. Just sick. Oh and The hot girl on the box cover? Appears NOWHERE in the movie. That tells you what you need to know about the film. Perhaps if it was filed in the horror section it would have made more sense. I want not only the hour and a half of my life back, i also want to be compensated for all the time i spend repressing it and being angry that somebody financed this instead of a movie. Boo, I say Boo.
