Hayley Atwell Felt "Undermined" by Captain Carter's "Funny" Death in 'Doctor Strange 2'
Image
MCU fans weren't the only ones disappointed with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as Hayley Atwell, who reprized her role as a variant of Peggy Carter, recently addressed her own frustration with her Ant-Man-sized role in the film. Directed by Sam Raimi, Multiverse of Madness was Benedict Cumberbatch's second solo film in the MCU. One scene saw him travel to an alternate universe run by Marvel's Illuminati, which included Captain Carter (Atwell), John Krasinski as Reed Richards, and Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

During a recent appearance on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, Hayley Atwell revealed how disappointed she was to learn her role in the film had been severely cut short. The actress described her scene as "blink and you miss me" because of the very limited screen time. Despite being set up in the scene as a potential savior and part of the team...

Will Colin Farrell Playing Sgt. Rock Affect The Batman Part II? Here's The Latest On Long-Delayed Sequel
Image
Yesterday afternoon, the news broke that The Penguin star Colin Farrell is in talks to play the title character in DC Studios' Sgt. Rock movie. Daniel Craig had been eyed by filmmaker Luca Guadagnino for his next feature but ultimately passed.

That wouldn't be the first time the former 007 has missed out on a superhero role as he was supposed to suit up as Thor's brother, Balder, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' Illuminati sequence.

Back to Farrell, and the response to him pulling double duty in the Dcu as Sgt. Rock and The Penguin in Matt Reeves' Bat-verse has been a little mixed. There have also been questions about whether this casting will have an impact on The Batman Part II, a movie many believe will never happen at this rate.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sgt. Rock is expected to shoot in England this summer.

Daredevil: Born Again Brings One Aspect Of The Comics The MCU Was Missing
Image
For over 15 years, we've seen Marvel Studios adapt comic books to the screen at a scale never before imaginable, with interconnected movies and sequels, cameos, and crossovers that build a large, vast, often incoherent continuity. We've seen superhero teams form and disband, mantles passed on to the next generation, and even the actual multiverse being introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you were to tell a comic book fan in the late '90s or early '00s that we'd see the Avengers assemble and fight Thanos, three different Spider-Mans from different universes would meet, and The Illuminati would appear on screen, they wouldn't believe you.

But as much as the MCU has recreated the feeling of reading comic books, it still lacks in certain areas, like actually making its titles feel seamlessly interconnected outside of the big crossover events. Likewise, Marvel still hasn't fully fixed its villain problem,...

Mark Ruffalo’s World War Hulk Was Almost Teased? Captain America 4 Originally Had The Illuminati in the Post Credit Scene
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Captain America: Brave New World Spoilers Ahead!

After a long, long wait, Captain America 4, Brave New World has finally made its way to the screens, and the reviews are… well, mixed. While some fans are down to giving it a chance, a majority of the critics have officially deemed it a goosebumps-ripped disaster that could have unfolded a lot differently and in much more spectacular ways.

Captain America: Brave New World. | Credits: Marvel Studios.

But the thing is: Things would have unfolded differently and, perhaps, made it all a bit more enticing and exciting for fans had things gone down that lane. This is because there was a chance that World War Hulk could have almost been teased, since the director teased that things about the Illuminati were purposely left as vague in the flick as they were.

Captain America 4 reportedly planned to have the Illuminati...

10 Perfect MCU Multiverse Stories To Replace Kang In Avengers 5
Image
Avengers 5 may replace Kang with multiverse threats, like the Council of Reeds or Infinity Ultron. Doctor Strange 2 set up the remaining Earth-838 Illuminati and their closed ones as possible Avengers 5 antagonists. Avenger 5 could introduce villains from different universes through incursions to replace Kang.

Avengers 5 seems ready to let go of Kang the Conqueror, and with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest projects in the Multiverse Saga and the wide breadth of Marvel Comics stories, there are exciting replacements for the villain. The MCU was ready to make Kang the Conqueror its next Thanos, with the villain's variants terrorizing the multiverse in Disney+'s Loki and the main Kang appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, with Kang actor Jonathan Majors fired from the MCU, it is looking increasingly likely that the villain is out of Avengers 5.

That was reinforced by a new report, which claimed Avengers 5...

Marvel Permanently Kills Its 2 Most Powerful Heroes in Bold Statement About New Continuity
Image
The new Ultimate Universe just killed off two god-tier heroes in Marvel Comics canon: Black Bolt and Sentry. The Ultimates discover this upon investigating the Maker's Damage Control facility, where they find the corpses of these heroes on display. Killing Black Bolt and Sentry is a bold statement by Marvel, as it tells fans that there will be no easy solutions or god-level allies in the Ultimates' fight against the Maker.

Warning: Contain Spoilers for Free Comic Book Day: Spider-Man/Ultimate Universe! Marvel Comics has expanded its continuity beyond just Earth-616, as a new Ultimate Universe takes center-stage as its own separate, ongoing canon. While a future crossover between Earth-616 and the newly established Earth-6160 seems inevitable (especially given the circumstances of Earth-6160s origin), the new Ultimate Universe is currently totally separate, with a storyline thats in the beginning stages of shaping its entire continuity. And as that storyline unfolds,...

“Immersive” Willy Wonka Exhibit Somehow Worse for Kids Than Original Chocolate Factory
Image
Oompa, Loompa, doompa-dee-dand, an “immersive” Willy Wonka experience got out of hand. Oompa Loompa, doompa-dee-deece, kids started crying, parents called the police.

The event in Glasgow, Scotland, was meant to be a celebration of Wonka, last year’s Timothée Chalamet-starring prequel, complete with chocolates, dancing Ooompa-Loompas, and special audio and visual effects. Produced by organizers House of Illuminati, the event was billed as a “journey filled with wondrous creations and enchanting surprises at every turn,” though the main surprise turned out to be that generic movie spon-c0n became more unsettling than the factory in Roald Dahl’s book.

Attendees arrived at a small, sparsely-filled warehouse in an industrial section of Glasgow to find plastic decorations, a small bouncy castle, and a surprising lack of confections. Tickets for the event cost up to £35, and many purchasers reported traveling long distances and being barred from entry upon arrival.

One attendee,...

The New Ultimates: Marvel's Heroes Assemble in New Ultimate Universe Team
Image
Marvel Comics has revitalized the Ultimate Universe with Earth-6160, a new and largely unexplored corner of the Marvel Universe. The new Ultimates, consisting of Iron Lad, Doctor Doom, Thor, Lady Sif, and Captain America, are uniting to put this twisted universe shaped by the Maker back on track towards a hopeful future. The upcoming Free Comic Book Day issue will continue the storyline from 2023's Ultimate Universe, answering questions about the fate of the heroes, Captain America's status, and the involvement of other characters/storylines including Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, and Ultimate X-Men.

Marvel Comics has officially revitalized the Ultimate Universe, and while it has a clever link to the original Earth-1610 with the multiversal villain, the Maker, this new universe of Earth-6160 is an entirely new and barely explored corner of the Marvel Universe. And now, the heroes of this world are uniting into the ‘new Ultimates...

The McU's Version of the Illuminati Comes to Life in Breathtaking New Fan Art
Image
The worthiest member of Earth-616's Illuminati is Scarlet Witch due to her incredible power as showcased in Avengers: Endgame and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The inclusion of the Hulk who appeared in Thor: Ragnarok is problematic due to his perceived lack of intelligence and his cowardice in Avengers: Infinity War. Thor, Doctor Strange, and Professor X are all worthy of joining Earth-616's Illuminati in the stunning fan art.

The Illuminati receives the upgrade the superhero organization so desperately deserves. The team assembled by Stephen Strange of Earth-838 first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But in a breathtaking piece of brand-new fan art, the Illuminati is reimagined for the MCU’s Earth-616. Check out the post from Instagram user @agtdesign below:

Secret Invasion Artist Hints at Tight Deadlines Affecting the Show's Quality
Image
As Marvel Cinematic Universe fans continue to mull over the disappointment of Secret Invasion, a concept artist for the Phase Five miniseries hints at tight deadlines and reshoots hurting the final product audiences saw.

Via his ArtStation account, Secret Invasion artist Jeffrey Reed confirmed scenes for the Disney+ show were completed when deadlines were "tight" due to them being a part of reshoots for the Ali Selim-directed title. Reed's confirmation comes amid reports Secret Invasion went through four months of reshoots before the miniseries eventually made its way onto Disney's streaming service this past May. "Had the pleasure of working on Marvel Secret Invasion with Frank Walsh (Pd). It was the reshoot leg though so deadlines were tight. Usually 1/2 day or 1 day deadlines, so everything is fairly loose," he said.

New Illuminati Roster Adds Marvel's Most Underrated Super-Genius
Image
The Illuminati will soon be returning to the Marvel Universe, and one of the publisher’s most underrated super geniuses will be joining them. One of Marvel’s most controversial teams, the Illuminati meet in the shadows, working to protect Earth from a variety of threats. This November, Thanos sets his sights on the Illuminati in the first issue of his new ongoing - and Marvel has revealed one of their smartest characters is joining the team’s ranks.

Thanos #1 will be written by Christopher Cantwell and drawn by Luca Pizzari. In the series, the Mad Titan has returned to Earth on a mission of conquest - and it falls on the Illuminati to stop him. The team, disbanded for years, reforms, with Emma Frost and the Blue Marvel joining Iron Man, Doctor Strange and Mister Fantastic. This is a shock line-up, mostly because Blue Marvel has long hated the...

Doja Cat says 'it's true' to Illuminati rumours in trolling post
Image
Singer Doja Cat continues to play along with rumours linking her to Illuminati. Having been speculated to be part of the secret society, the Grammy Award-winning artiste has fueled the bizarre conspiracy theory with an Instagram post that showed off her graphic design skills, reports aceshowbiz.com.

The 27-year-old took to her social media account on Saturday, August 12 to share the snaps in which she appears to be hairless and her face is distorted.

In one of the mostly pink images, she is seen sitting on the side of a bed with her arms thrown up in the air, a pink sparkly Care Bare sitting beside her and a stream of falling money on top of it.

“Illuminatits,” “I think my cat is Illuminati” and “I joined the Illuminati” all flash across the screen in obnoxious fonts.

Another picture has her flashing a “V” sign with an animated cigarette on...

Travis Scott’s ‘Utopia’ Is an Empty Paradise
Image
After his 2018 album Astroworld, Travis Scott reached a commercial steeple that allowed him to sell candles and McDonalds meals and Forgiatto rims and anything else he wanted to pick up and wail, “It’s lit!” with. He carried that eye for consumerism into his Utopia rollout to middling effect. Even after his planned performance at the Giza Pyramid was canceled (the mere possibility of a show there was striking since it was unclear whether he’d be insured to perform again anywhere after the Astroworld concert tragedy), Utopia is still...

illuminati hotties Return with New Single “Truck”: Stream
Image
illuminati hotties are back with a breezy, summery new single called “Truck.”

Though Sarah Tudzin is probably best known for her snappy, punk-inspired indie rock, “Truck” sees the illuminati hotties mastermind pump the brakes a bit, fueled by a mid-tempo acoustic guitar chug. She’s spent quite a bit of time on the road as a touring musician, and her latest tune uses interstates and automobiles as metaphors for life’s more psychological adventures — the ones that your Maps app can’t help you navigate.

“You grew up way too fast/ Took your corncob act to the city/ Thought there could be something more/ Turns out Hollywood’s just as boring,” she sings, her voice hushed like she’s taking a page from Elliott Smith’s playbook. Tudzin further explains the meaning behind the track in a press release: “If mortality is a jolting, jagged highway exit, then heaven is...

Anson Mount Teases Potential Revival of Black Bolt Character in MCU
Image
Marvel relentlessly weaves narratives that captivate the imagination and stir the emotions of millions worldwide. Among these captivating tales is the intriguing prospect of Anson Mount reprising his role as Black Bolt in the MCU.

Mount, notably recognized for his present role in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, played the role of the mystifying ruler of the Inhumans in Marvel's Inhumans television series, which was broadcast on ABC back in 2017.

Black Bolt's intriguing story didn't stop at the Inhumans series. The character reappeared in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, albeit in a cameo role, as part of Earth-838's Illuminati.

Alongside other iconic superheroes like Captain Carter, Maria Rambeau's Captain Marvel, Reed Richards from Fantastic Four, and Professor Charles Xavier of the X-Men, Black Bolt added depth to an already rich ensemble. Regrettably, his character met a tragic demise when the Scarlet Witch used his very...

Marvel Risks Repeating A Big Multiverse Mistake In Just 2 Years
Image
Just two years after making a big mistake in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be looking to repeat it in Deadpool 3. After the Infinity Saga, the MCU took an extended hiatus before kickstarting the Multiverse Saga. Projects like Loki, Marvel's What If...?, and Spider-Man: No Way Home set up concepts that are expected to play a pivotal role in this new chapter of the franchise like variants and the Tva (Time Variance Authority). That being said, it wasn't until Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that Marvel Studios really delved deep into the idea of multiple realities and timelines.

Marking Benedict Cumberbatch's second appearance as Doctor Strange in the post-Infinity Saga era, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also built on the then-burgeoning McU's multiverse as the sorcerer traveled through several realities. His adventure throughout...

"Would You Erase Me From Existence?": Reed Richards Officially Fears 1 Villain More Than Doctor Doom
Image
Warning: contains spoilers for Ultimate Invasion #1!Reed Richards and Doctor Doom are lifetime enemies - they share a bond of understanding, and yet Doom hates Mister Fantastic with a passion that transcends realities. Doom has attacked Reed's family countless times, and tried to discredit and humiliate him at every turn. Doom even sacrificed an entire universe rather than abandon his hate. However, despite all that, there is a foe who Reed hates and fears more than his nemesis.

In Ultimate Invasion #1 by Jonathan Hickman, Bryan Hitch, Andrew Currie, Alex Sinclair and Joe Caramagna, the Maker asks Richards whether, given the chance, Reed would erase him from existence, and Reed says yes. It’s a telling moment; Reed might often be uncaring, but he’s not cruel, and there are few villains he’d react to with such spite. In the Maker, Reed sees his worst instincts. His callousness and ego...

Every Secret Invasion Main Character & Their Comic Debut, Explained
Image
With the premiere of Secret Invasion, the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands a little bit more. The series, which sees Nick Fury and his allies go against a Skrull rebellion in Moscow is a thrilling sci-fi spy story that will surely impact the MCU just like the comic event in 2008. So far, the TV show introduced a few new characters, such as G'iah (Emilia Clarke) and Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), but it also brought back familiar faces that fans already missed plenty, like Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn).

Not all Secret Invasion characters come from the comics -- Gravik and Sonya Falsworth are promising original creations -- but those who have been around for a while by now come from the comics. Even if they didn't debut in the Secret Invasion books, their debut in the comics says a lot about them and their possible fate in the MCU.

Star-Lord’s Marvel Movie Return Could Be With the X-Men
Image
This article contains Guardians of the Galaxy 3 spoilers

The final track might’ve played on James Gunn’s time with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but rest assured, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn’t quite the end of the story. While series mainstays Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldaña, and Sean Gunn claim they’re also done, one lovable rogue is sticking around for more. Aside from Chris Pratt himself teasing Peter Quill’s return, Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 3 quite literally spells it out for us.

A cryptic post-credits teaser of “The Legendary Star-Lord will return” confirms the music-loving hero has at least one more MCU outing in his arsenal. Don’t expect Pratt to suddenly lead a Disney+ Star-Lord series next week, and remember, he’s already expressed an interest in joining Gunn in the DC Universe. As it’s simply a case of when Star-Lord will be blasting off again,...

‘Abbott Elementary’ Scene Stealer William Stanford Davis on Auditions and Enjoying His First Series Regular Job at 71
Image
According to William Stanford Davis, the Illuminati changed his life. In the pilot episode of “Abbott Elementary he appears as the mysterious janitor Mr. Johnson in front of a whiteboard with “Illuminati” written on it in big letters, telling a group of children: “That’s who runs the world, kids.”

Proof of the adage there are no small parts, Davis would continue to steal scenes with minimal screen time as Mr. Johnson because a fan favorite. Less than 18 months after that first appearance, the 71-year-old actor finds himself with his first series regular gig, a SAG Award for his work in the show’s ensemble and a favorite meme thanks to all of Mr. Johnson’s random quotes.

Davis isn’t nearly as gruff as Mr. Johnson, but he does share the character’s years of wisdom and has his own detailed history. He was the front man for the band The Fabulous Paramount Revue,...

How The MCU Can Fix The Illuminati Where Multiverse of Madness Failed
Image
Avengers: Secret Wars has the opportunity to introduce a far better version of the Illuminati than the one seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel's clandestine council of its cleverest characters made their live-action debut as a part of Earth-838, but received rather mixed reactions in their first appearance. Thankfully, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has yet to unveil its main version of the Illuminati on Earth-616, though such an event seems likely to take place before the end of the Multiverse Saga. In fact, Secret Wars offers the best method for Marvel to create an effective Illuminati that can exist for years to come.

The Illuminati's MCU return is inevitable, especially given the group's extreme importance in certain recent comic book events. The group of superhuman geniuses was first created by Tony Stark in Marvel Comics as a way to prepare for calamity before it happened in hopes of saving countless lives.

MCU Theory Answers Multiverse Of Madness’ Earth-838 Differences
Image
Introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Earth-838 has many differences from the McU's main reality, which could be explained by one diversion in the events of The Avengers. The sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange saw Stephen Strange and America Chavez travel through the multiverse, visiting various new universes but spending most of their time in a reality dubbed 838. While looking strikingly similar to the main reality of the MCU, known as 616, Earth-838 had some major differences, including waterfalls flowing from skyscrapers, flora growing from rooftops, and a new superhero team in the form of the Illuminati, comprised of representatives from each superpowered team.

Since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness released in May 2022, many have speculated about what event could have caused the diversion of the 616 and 838 universes. With Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Maria Rambeau, a.k.a. Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), operating as superheroes,...
