Similar to previous episodes

This latest episode has a very similar feel and mystery as the previous ones. It introduces a new character at the newspaper and takes the main characters to a health and motivational retreat. The plot moves quickly and keeps you guessing as in past episodes. I would rate it slightly lower but if you like this series you will enjoy this one as well.

We weren't even close

We really enjoy this series. Alison and Benjamin make it so much fun to watch and their chemistry is great. The rest of the cast adds a lot too.

But I have to say that we had no idea who did the dirty deed, or should I say we thought we knew, but were absolutely wrong.

This entire series is worth the time to watch it and we still have many more episodes to go.

Definitely one of the better shows in this genre

This production is less cheesy, stereotypical and predictable than most. A Real;y watchable and intelligent mystery. The end is just a little week but very enjoyable

$300 Blue Moth Fungus seems worth killing over.

My favorite mystery series on Hallmark remain Hannah Swenson's Mysteries, Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, and Mystery 101. I do really like both Benjamin Ayers and Alison Sweeney, but I feel like this is a show that I would like to like more than I actually do.

General plot, brand new employee of the paper goes on an empowerment retreat and doesn't come back when he said he would. Alex finds this suspicious and does a little digging to discover that the retreat leader has a shady past...then both Alex and Drew end up going on the retreat. Coincidentally, a murder occurs and Drew and Alex work to get to the bottom of it.

So far the Chronicle Mysteries are staying around the same in terms of interest...in comparison to Mystery 101 which seems to be getting better with every entry.

I think I preferred the previous entry, The Deep End.

Warning: Spoilers
Several things don't sit right with me. For one thing, why would anyone participate in a cult-like camp that enforces an electronics ban? Also, wouldn't people have noticed that the blue moss pills were dangerous? Where was the FDA in this?

5/10 - interesting, but not particularly noteworthy entry in the only okay Chronicle Mysteries series
