Very dry, but the basics are shown

As someone who has never watched Le Mans and don't know anything about it the doc is kinda too dry. It's an older style doc with huge focus on showing racing and very little technical narration and no host to show you everything. It does look like a doc for huge fans of Le Mans who understand all the stuff between the lines and can be excited about a driver name being mentioned or seeing a certain car race a specific way. Jason Statham is also a dry narrator who never shows passion. It's the same voice all the way just like in his movies which works there as he has charisma in his facial expressions. But here it's just a heavy accent and no energy. It's single lines of monologue then a stop. Then we see some mechanic say something banal like proclaiming tiredness. Then Jason says another line and so forth. No creativity and no flexibility. It's all one long sequence lazily cut together. Nothing is bad it's just that it's not that interesting for newcomers at all even if you follow other races like F1. I will watch the sequel, the movie, and the upcoming event. Maybe I will learn a bit more. But I will not change my mind on the doc it is very, very dry compared to modern docs with hosts and modern cameras with plenty of colors and perfect sound. This feels like an 80's doc. Doesn't quite work, but it's not bad in any way as such just a tad too boring.

We follow Audi which is good as they had an interesting race that year at least. But we need someone to guide us along. Hire a pretty woman to interview crew members and some older guy to talk about the technical details to the camera. Or do interviews in quiet rooms to get a full story. Or hire a narrator who is a giant Le Mans nerd and can talk freely instead of reading single lines from a script.
