I do like these, but slightly less than Alison Sweeney's previous Murder She Baked series. I gotta concentrate on the dialogue much more in the Chronicle Mysteries plus having so many actors from the other Hallmark mysteries gets a bit confusing! However it is different to have two journalists instead of the standard Cop & Annoying Civilian format.

One of my favorite Hallmark mystery series. I love Alison Sweeney, she's great in everything she plays in, and I just really like the podcast aspect of the story and how a lot of them are about cold cases. The chemistry between the two lead actors is great, too. I hope they'll continue with this series!
Love the show. Sorry they dropped it.

With the exception of the final episode, this was a great show. The cast, the chemistry, the story, the production.
It was a fresh take on mystery shows considering the rise in real crime podcasts out there. I'm sure Covid played a part in its demise as it did for several other good movie series on hallmark.
But hallmark made it clear they had new plans for the channel and their good products have become even more rare since January 2020.
The dynamic of all the characters was one of my favorite parts. They bantered and played off each other so well.
The music was also different and I looked forward to it.
Like I said, the final episode was lacking but I've watched the others multiple times. Sorry to see it go.

Formula for Daytime Addicts

Stereotypical Hallmark (Let's add Acorn too.) cheap production, & seen many times before, borrowed script plots. Series checks all the public relation's selling points found in daytime soap for TV addicts as follows: Gender inclusion as one of the leads; romance w/eye candy actors (females usually blonde; males usiually a week's "manly" beard & tight t-shirt); personal issues to overcome; make-up is always perfect; clothing changes (never wrinkled) are frequent visual hooks; offbeat assistant researcher; crimes seldom seen; a cost saving meek capture of the least likely at the end.
