This is the tale of a lowly, diligent villager Matto and his constant companion - his prized possession - his bicycle. They have been together for two decades and now their camaraderie is under threat. The bicycle has been damaged beyond repair and he certainly cannot afford to buy a new one. #MattoKiSaikil narrates a heart-warming tale in the most authentic manner. Performances r excellent. Direction is competent. The short running time is a plus point. You may find it difficult to understand the dialogues because the language used here is not the hindi that is often spoken. This film needs your love n support - do watch it in theatres. Rating 3.5/5.

Not close to but actual reality of poor community in india, politician are only see their benefit abd poor become poor. No life of poor. Amazing acting by Prakash Jha and team all were superb. I felt that I was not watching movie but live documentary. All were so real.
After long time watched actual art direction and real acting by actors no weak points in movie I would say lot better than all crap bolloywood movies who are not close to reality.
Making this kind of movie makes lots of guts and effects.
Really happy to see Prakash jha acting he is so real and observed the character of labour guy. Who earn hard money every day.

Simply amazing and very hard hitting movie. A must watch for all (masala movie lovers please excuse) . This is different. All the actors are superb.

This film is perfect. A treat for cinema lovers.
Actor Prakash Jha has overpowered his director image.
He has perfected the role of a daily wage laborer so well that you cannot imagine any other actor for this role. Reality cannot be closer than this movie.
It will move you and without being preachy it delivers the message silently but effectively. Anyone coming from the rural India knows that it is not a movie truth. I would love to see such movies become blockbuster and earn equal to what Yashraj and Dharma production movie earns which only have beautiful faces, exotic location and item song.

Movie shows you everything as is. The setting, acting, dialect is as close to reality as it can get.
It is mainly a story of a simple minded poor villager struggling for his daily survival. Movie highlights his challenges, frustration and anguish but is never over the top. And while at it also provides subtle commentary on everything from village politics, police, health infrastructure, poor water quality, dowry etc.
Acting is top notch and everyone has captured the mannerism and dialect so perfectly that no body looks out of place.
Movie is bit slow but not to be missed. It speaks less but conveys so much.

Prakash Jha is a treat to watch. The whole cast is simply the best. Pure acting and perfect direction! No exaggeration at all. It feels so real that you forget you are watching a movie. This is the kind of cinema we need more of. The story is heart wrenching and thought-provoking. It evokes all sorts of emotions in you -gratitude, anger, sadness, frustration, helplessness. There are moments that teach you the joy in small things. The story is so engrossing that it stays with you for a long time. The beginning engages you thoroughly and the ending is so strong. In the end, the movie says everything without saying anything at all. Kudos to the whole team for making such a soulful movie.

I am so surprised to see such a grounded realistic movie.
Some of people may not feel it.
Born in similar places i felt so connected thoroughly.
What ever was shown in movie i have seen all this since my childhood in front of my eyes.language spoken and living style and scenarios all are very real and practial which was shown in movie.
Felt like i am seeing it happening in front of my eyes as i used to see it.
While watching it i went through all sad and happy emotions goosebumps eyes full of tears.
The scale and gap of status was shown is Very harsh reality of today's world.. Kudos to makers for making such a great movie..

Ah, the movie which made me make this account to give my 2 cents.
Matto is the tale of a daily wage labourer and his old rusty cycle, which is one of the reasons he's able to put food on the table and make ends meet.
It released at a time, when every other movie is one of the same, devoid of emotion, devoid of a good storyline, but jam-packed with VFX.
Matto is one of the best efforts to bring back the cinema, which makes you feel things and stays with you for a long time.
It has all the ingredients required to make a film a masterpiece. You'll feel exactly as the characters do, because of the amazing experience the filmmakers create for us.
Being a cinephile, I was apalled at how little people know of this gem and how this seems to be something they can just skip.
If we don't give such films the due they deserve, in no time we'll have films having the same ol' storyline, which are merely things to block your thoughts out whilst you have your meal.
My thanks to the whole team for this sincere effort at bringing us some good cinema.

A great movie after a long time , I have watched. Just outstanding performance by Prakash jha . Direction and story is simply superb. Prakash jha gives outstanding performance not a good director He just proved that Outstanding actor too. Very touching and realistic cinema . Cinematography is unbelievable feeling like village environment no drama seems at all. The feeling and value of a simple bicycle touched the heart. The movie show if honest work done by anyone , a great masterpiece result. I can not imagine that a simple story tells just beyond the boundary. A simple bicycle is everything for a simple man.

A very emotional story of an everyday man in a south asian village. Great acting by Prakash Jha and overall a great story. Best thing i have watched in many years. This proves that if the content is good, there is no need to unnecessarily escalate budget.
This movie also highlights the plight of people enchained by heartless politicians in order to pursue their own ambitions. I am also impressed by the acting to the two young girls. The whole movie revolves around a person's emotional attachment to a simple bicycle and his ambitions that are linked to it. Do watch it along with family and friends.
