“Feud” is gearing up to return with a bang in January, and FX has released the first teaser for its star-studded portrayal of one of the 20th century’s most sordid literary feuds. The second installment of Ryan Murphy‘s anthology series, titled “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” centers on Truman Capote’s inner circle of “swans,” a term he coined to describe his wealthy female socialite friends.
“The White Lotus” scene stealer Tom Hollander portrays Capote, with Naomi Watts, Chloë Sevigny, Molly Ringwald, Calista Flockhart, and Diane Lane as his close friends, whose exploits Capote infamously documented in the short story “La Côte Basque 1965” for Esquire. Capote was attempting to write the shelved novel “Answered Prayers” and used his friends’ gossip and secrets as fodder.

Jennifer Ehle has been cast in Jaclyn Bethany’s queer indie drama “In Transit.”
Written by Alex Sarrigeorgiou, the Maine-set feature tells the story of a small town bartender called Lucy who agrees to model for painter Ilse – played by Ehle – who is existentially floundering as she seeks solitude away from her career and complicated personal life while on an artists retreat.
“Through their relationship, both women must confront their preconceptions of what makes a good life,” reads the logline.
Sarrigeorgiou will play Lucy while Francois Arnaud (“Yellowjackets”) is set to play Lucy’s boyfriend Tom, a local chef.
The film goes into production this month with principal photography commencing in Damariscotta, Maine before moving to New York City in February.
Marin Hope cast the project.
Emmy nominee Bethany (“Tell That to the Winter Sea”) directs and produces for Bke Productions alongside C.C. Kellogg of Valmora Productions, Sarrigeorgiou for Little Language Films and Sarah Keyes.

The comic was created by Scott Snyder and Jock. It tells the story of “17-year-old Sailor Rooks, whose family moves to a remote New England town after a tragic accident, only to discover that a burrow of monsters—ancient creatures that prey on our darkest fears and desires—lurks beneath the town,” per the official description.
Snyder and Jock will both executive produce along with Plan B Entertainment, Project 51 Productions’ Kevin Kolde, and Amazon Studios.

Documentary-maker Tracy Droz Tragos’ timely, rousing latest feature Plan C represents a de facto sequel to her earlier work, 2016’s Abortion: Stories Women Tell in that both films revolve around one of the most contentious issues in American politics. But where Stories focused on the impact and experience of regular people terminating their pregnancy or those helping others to get a safe, legal surgical procedure, Plan C offers a portrait of those on the front line of the war over women’s right to choose: the founders and organizers who run Plan C. This grassroots organization advises women on the so-called abortion pills, and helps them acquire access to these drugs, which were recently declared safe by the Fda but are technically illegal in many states that have since banned abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon episode 5.
Very few things can stop a droning king midway through his prepared remarks, but as it turns out, the boldness of Queen Alicent (Emily Carey) is one of them. Arriving late and announced to a royal feast in honor of the Princess of Dragonstone and her impending marriage, Alicent pointedly enters the Red Keep’s throne room while her rapidly aging husband, King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine), struggles to stand up and give his first of likely many planned toasts honoring his daughter.
Viserys promptly forgot about all that as he sees his young wife draped in a rich emerald green gown, cutting a figure as bold as the legend surrounding Anne Boleyn, the lady and eventual queen who allegedly inspired the song “Greensleeves.” It’s also worth pointing out that Anne Boleyn was the direct inspiration for Margaery Tyrell...

The WGA East’s second Showrunner Academy gets underway today, with the 31-member class taking part in a program designed to support television writer-producers, upper-level writers and new show creators in honing the skills necessary to become successful showrunners and TV industry leaders.
The Academy, which provides instruction from current showrunners and other industry professionals on a wide range of topics, is led by Diana Son and Frank Pugliese.
“Being a showrunner is so much more than being the creative voice of the show,” Son said in a statement. “It’s also managing a multimillion-dollar endeavor with over 100 employees. We’re bringing in accomplished and experienced showrunners who’re willing to share the breadth of their experience – the good, bad and the ugly – so new showrunners can have a head start on figuring out what kind of showrunner they’re going to be.

If we have learned, or been reminded, of anything from recent Oscar races in which The King’s Speech defeated The Social Network, Green Book defeated Roma and Coda defeated The Power of the Dog, it is that the tastes of Academy members are completely separate and apart from the tastes of critics — and that Academy members actually tend to double down on their feelings about a film when they are told that they are not “getting” something that critics “got.”
I bring this up because the early critical reactions to Sarah Polley’s Women Talking, which had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival’s Palm Theatre on Friday evening following a tribute to Polley, and which Uar will release on Dec. 2, have been utterly glowing — but my Spidey sense, honed over many years of studying and covering the Academy, is that...

The last 12 months have seen great stories in hip-hop. From the crossover success of artists like Latto and Jack Harlow to the returns of Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, and Nicki Minaj. Altogether, the genre is at its most diverse point in years, or perhaps ever. With this in mind, it’s time to take a first look at how the state of hip-hop will be represented at the upcoming Grammys, and which names will probably be read on nominations morning.
When talking about the rap field at the Grammys you have to start with perhaps the biggest rap darling of them all: Kendrick Lamar. The acclaimed rapper is back in contention this year with his most recent album, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers,” which is very likely to max out on nominations in the rap field. “N95” could likely be Lamar’s entry to Best Rap Performance, while “Die Hard...

A sprig of roaring power emo with your grime, madam? Side of jazz soul? Dash of playlist indie? The modern Reading Festival is an eclectic beast. For the first 45 or so years since one of the oldest existing popular music festivals settled in Reading, through periods of prog, hard rock, metal and indie dominance, it acted as the place that anyone who wasn’t interested in pop music could make their summer second home. Since around 2018, though, it’s faced an identity crisis. What do you do when your core niche – rock music – no longer sells the tickets you have to shift?
Reading & Leeds’s answer has been an attempt to become all festivals to all people – well, all glitter-smothered students clothed largely in netting. The 2022 festival, as a result, resembles three different festivals for the price of one. Friday is akin to a condensed Wireless, headed by rap and grime but accepting all-comers.

A Megan Thee Stallion verse is not unlike a bag of salt and vinegar chips—there’s something classic and quaint and straight-up hood about the sharp and improbable flavors packed inside every one of them. There were always going to be some quirky juxtapositions with Meg. The twenty-something spitter is an old soul who swears by Pimp C and Biggie and Juicy J. While other rappers her age couldn’t point out Pete Rock in a police lineup, nearly every time Meg spits a freestyle in one of her many viral clips,...

It’s official: The ad-supported version of Disney+ will cost 7.99 a month when it launches in the U.S. on December 8 — the same price of the streaming service currently. Disney+ without ads will cost more, 10.99 a month, Disney announced Wednesday.
When the new tier launches, it will mark the first time that Disney will introduce commercials on its flagship streaming service, which has amassed 152.1 million subscribers worldwide since it launched in November 2019, new numbers reported by Disney in Wednesday’s Q3 earnings report.
The service is one of three pillars of the conglomerate’s direct-to-consumer strategy: ESPN+ offers no ad-free tier. Hulu has had commercials since its 2010 launch and it remains a popular option; the service began offering an ad-free version in 2015. All together, the three services have 221.1 million subscribers.
Wednesday’s announcement also came with a restructuring of the Disney Bundle, which includes all three services. It currently costs 14.99 a month for Disney+,...

What kind of friend are you? We all fall into certain friendship archetypes, whether we’re the responsible “parent” of the group, the instigator, or the one that never responds in the group chat. Sometimes we fill these archetype roles to bring out the best in our friend groups, but more often than not these roles are set in stone during our youth, before we define ourselves, and coalesce into something toxic and decidedly unfriendly.
Taking a psychological approach to exploring lifelong friendships, digital communication, and Gen-z individualism, A24‘s SXSW breakout horror film Bodies Bodies Bodies is sure to stir up a conversation online. However, a lot of that conversation will rightly be about the outstanding, believable performances from the film’s young, buzzy cast. Kelly McCormick’s producing credits include “Deadpool 2,” “Nobody,” and the upcoming “Bullet Train,” but she’s not afraid to play favorites: She said the Charlize Theron-starring “Atomic Blonde” is the project she’s “most proud of.” For her, the big, bombastic action film is personal.
She got her start in documentaries and later became a production and packaging executive before creating 87North Productions with her husband, director David Leitch. The 2017 “Atomic Blonde” was their first collaboration and it marked former stuntman Leitch’s first solo directing effort (after serving as an uncredited co-director on “John Wick” with friend Chad Stahelski).

Ukrainian filmmaker Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi wrote and will direct the feature adaptation of John Valliant’s book The Tiger, in which Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award-winner Alexander Skarsgard will star alongside Oppenheimer actor Dane DeHaan.
Set in snowy far east Russia in the late 90s, the feature follows a group of men — referred to as the Tiger Team — who work to protect endangered tigers from poachers and logging operations. The story follows Vanzin (Skarsgard), the Team’s leader whose sense of duty is tested when he’s charged with hunting down and exterminating a tiger that killed a poacher in self-defense. DeHaan would portray Kanchuga, a young environmental scientist and newest member of the Team.
Darren Aronofsky and Protozoa are producing, along with Plan B and Wild Bunch International. The Veterans will launch sales on the project at the Cannes Film Festival. CAA Media Finance is co-representing domestic rights.

Even though Bosch has wrapped seven great seasons on Amazon Prime Video, Harry Bosch’s story is still far from over! The police procedural streaming series, starring Titus Welliver as LA Police detective Harry Bosch, continues in new format with a new title – Bosch: Legacy.
But don’t call it a spinoff, as star Welliver doesn’t truly categorize it as such. “I shudder to call it a spin-off because it’s really not; it’s just the continuing saga of Harry Bosch,” he told EW. “He’s in a different place, but it’s a continuation… A lot is revealed toward the end of this final season of Bosch — I do air quotes on that, ‘final season’ — which lays the foundation for where we will find these three characters as we open the new show.”
Indeed it did, and Bosch: Legacy dishes out exactly what its title promises. Two...

Nikou’s lauded pandemic-themed debut Apples was a buzz title at the 2020 Venice Film Festival. He has scripted his new project with Sam Steiner and Apples co-writer Stavros Raptis.
Cate Blanchett’s Dirty Films is producing alongside Arrival outfit FilmNation Entertainment, which is also financing. Jerome Duboz will serve as executive producer. Carey Mulligan was previously attached to the project but is no longer aboard.
In the world of the surreal drama, described to us as a “grounded sci-fi love story”, a test has been discovered that measures whether couples are truly in love.

When Hulu first entered the streaming game, it was mostly viewed as the place where you streamed television you missed last night. Whether it was the latest episode of “The Simpsons” or an investigative report on “20/20”, Hulu was the hub for television shows. Years later, it still remains that hub considering how many new and old TV shows you can stream. But just like every streaming platform, it has grown to have more of its own original media. While it has become known for exclusive TV series, they do also have a fine selection of original movies. Here are five of the best original new movies that you can stream on Hulu right now:
"Batman & Bill"
If you ask most people who created ‘Batman’, they’ll usually say Bob Kane. The truth, however, is that Bill Finger played a heavier role in the creation of Batman than Kane. And...
