A couple things...
gregg-524-16313516 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I know Supergirl would like to take the side of good but let's face it...she blew it. Nyxy is going for universal domination ala Marvel 5 jewel style. Trying to reason with her right as she is trying to put Myxy in the orb was ignorant. THEY HAD THE ABILTY TO STOP A VILLAIN FROM TAKING OVER THE WORLD AND SUPERGIRL BLEW IT! One other thing that is incredibly important...Myxy tried to create a double of himself and then Dreamer tried to disguise herself as Myxy and cuff Nyxy...it didn't work. You know how it could've worked? MARTIAN MANHUNTER CAN TURN HIMSELF INTO ANYONE! He's almost as strong as Superman, he can change his shape, he can turn invisible, he can fly, he can walk intangibly through walls, and he's a powerful telepath. Why didn't he just turn into Myxy, approach Nyxy, slap the cuffs on her, go through her body and fly away? Boom! Case closed. Oh, one other scenario...J'on turns invisible and slaps the cuffs on Nyxy...yeah, I know, I take this superhero stuff too seriously...but c'mon man, Martian Manhunter is the most powerful superhero on the show and he is relegated to "dude who flies around a lot and is kind of strong." *sigh*

When the show about hope makes you loose yours
shipperofships15 September 2021
Another episode making me feel like the people responsible for the show didn't know it'll be the final season while writing it. It's just filler after filler. Ridiculous plots and character development that should've happened seasons ago. What is going on?

Supergirl feels like a guest star in her own show. She's reacting to other characters' storylines while not having her own. In the final season of the show. Mxy had more character development in one episode than Kara's had throughout the entire season so far. No wonder Melissa pretty much gave up on posting about the show and promoting it. Yes, it's great that other characters like Nia and Kelly are getting the spotlight but it shouldn't be happening at the expense of the protagonist.

This final season shows how off-tune TPTB are with the audience. Or they just simply don't care. Because if they cared, they'd know that the relationships between the core characters on the show are the element of the show that is loved the most by the majority of the audience. Not the villains. Not the superpowered fights with bad cgi. They should've focused on that and not whatever it is they're doing.

And the fact that the last time Lena and Kara, the relationship on the show that, objectively, brings the most engagement for the series, were allowed to exchange words on screen was in 6x01 just speaks for itself. How did we go from s5 being all about this big fallout of their relationship to the show acting like they aren't each other's persons and doing everything in their power to separate them? How is it that when they were fighting with each other they interacted more than they do now that they are back to being friends, when Lena finally knows everything?

It is really sad to think that this is the farewell the fans, the characters and the cast were served with by the showrunners. So sad.

Fun episode but it also felt a bit disjointed
ldamena15 September 2021
Loved having Mxy back, his interactions with Kara and the Super friends had me laughing, especially the singing scene. + Nxyly is one of the best villains SG has had. So glad it wasn't Lex again. LOL at her "Nah!" after Kara's speech. It felt like the writers were making fun of The Flash with Kara appealing to Nxyly's "goodness" but instead the speech did not work this time. As to how the episode felt disjointed: the Lena stuff. Felt like a completely different story that should have not been in this ep. It brought it down imo.

The Cat...
songod-9500329 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The cat had to be the funniest thing I have seen on TV all year. Yes I agree with all the bias complaints about the show, but that darn cat had me laughing out loud.

The show turned into a LGBTQ, anti-male, anti right wing bullpit ages ago. I have given up on it many times. BUT since this was the final season I thought maybe, just maybe, it would go out with a bang. Instead, it gives us a feminist anti "patriarchy" arc that has no growth for Supergirl. Maybe Melissa's pregnancy and birth have limited her availability? I am not interested in villains or side characters.

But it is the end and perhaps no one cares. Except for whomever came up with the giant cat!! Kudos to them!

"You're angry. And you have every right to be, I'm angry for you..."
RobinKarlsson2215 September 2021
Glen Winter is finally back as a director!

What really stands out in this episode is everybody's interaction with each others and what outcomes that may arise. Really liked everyone's personalities and specific viewpoints. And each one's perspective that determine their actions. Everyone's postures was well thought out and general attitudes was authentic and to say the least, understandable. But with all that, it's still plenty of warmth and sincerity that take place.

The camera work was altogether wonderful and when put together with the editing, the outcome was excellent. Really loved all of the locations they shoot in, the atmosphere became discernible. Felt compassion throughout the episode. Liked the camera work within everybody's individual movements. Also especially where everybody stands and/or move is thoroughly. Thought the perspective from the camera was just as great. As well the editing was great. Not only when they cut, but also what they cut towards and how it went together as a whole. The shading in particular was noteworthy and depicts the characters motive wonderfully.

The makeup remains being admirable and this episode, the costumes really work well within the location or specific background. I do love the discernible contrast for the color palettes in this episode. It do really feels like Katie scenes takes place apart. The colours of Peta goes so well together as a whole. The colour of her costume match greatly with her abilities, personality/attitude as well as overall ambience.

Melissa, as always, bring out the best and her acting never cease to impress me. The way she deliver, not only dialogues, but impressions and all kinds of attributes is rather remarkable. The expressions is genuine, original and moreover it give out an singular attachment. Her motions alongside the camera and overall positions was all great. Liked her and Chyler closeness and how they frequently was near each others.

Peta Sergeant keeps delivering and her acting is in every way rather astounding. How she deliver her dialogues with lots of emotions is totally stirring. Her attachment towards Melissa is essential and they really do succeed. Think that they both bring out a side that is altogether innovative or at least distinctive.

Jesse's interactivity with each one was stimulating and to some extent, amusing. Think his chemistry with Nicole in particular, is really one of it's kind. Liked especially his positions or general angle from the camera, the side views in particular is rather enthralling.

Thought that Nicole was definitely great and liked her intellect in this episode. Her feeling guilt was quite intriguing and especially her bond, particularly towards Melissa and Jesse, was compelling.

Although it wasn't' much of Chyler and David, they still made an definite impact. Starting of with Chyler Leigh. Her impression is general influential and has a solicitude that is rather remarkable to say the least. And For Harewood, his facial expression, in this episode in particular, was really good. He makes a rationality for his character that his authentic.

Great to see Thomas Lennon back again and he surely accomplished. Like his attitude, overall charm and enthusiasm. His hair was amusing. Thought that it worked well with his costume. Great voice acting that really affected his expression as a whole. Entertaining to see him being a significant part.

For Katie McGrath scenes, I thought the colour palette was gorgeous. A great choice, that properly emitted rightful suited tone as well as mood. The location, along with set design, was alluring to say the least. A discrete pick and an occurrence that we haven't witness before. Such a contrast when Katie is in the car and externally. Feeling moderately calm when she's in the car but as it goes on it's starting to occur a tone of ominously and it just keeps growing. Thought as well that all of her interactions was done rather affected, but the aftermath was the part that hit me.

To conclude... Although Katie was separated from the main cast, she never felt missed in any way. She emitted a discrete ambience that build her character greatly. Felt that this episode was spectacular. It had sentiments and a sensibility that blend well within the characters. Interactions, reveals and honestness is all major parts of the episode. Think that the cinematography was eye-catching, great soundtrack all over the episode and speldid acting. The location/set design and costumes was resplendent. A fine episode as a whole that absolute deserve a 10/10.

Why Newfoundland?
bradleysharpe18 October 2021
I was excited at first when I saw that Lena was in Newfoundland looking for information about her mother. As a Newfoundlander I love it when shows connect with home. My problem is the show did such a horrible job portraying Newfoundlanders. We do not have Irish accents, nor are we superstitious people who would stone witches. We would also not blame a person for the sins of their parents. Newfoundlanders are accepting people who care about others and always help those in need. Don't show a real place on air unless you are going to take the time to get it right.

A different episode, but great
tapr-5174815 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the episode. Mxy's appears and his colorful behavior was fun and fresh for the show. Lena is finally backs and as a possible powerful witch, something really needed to fight Nyxly magic. Melissa was amazing as usual, she is the perfect Supergirl. Hopefully the next episodes will continue growing in quality. To give Supergirl the end game that she deserves.

Let's fight the real enemy, shall we?
GomezAddams66615 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ignoring for a second we're now watching Supergirl: Infinity War, because Nxly has to find seven McGuffins to rule the universe, we are being "educated" as we watch. Lucky for us mortals, CW has an important lesson to teach us all.

Nxly is not evil, and even if she is evil it's all because of the "Patriarchy", because of course it is, why not at this point?

I truly loved this series at the beginning, I really did. But as time went on their political propaganda made it painful to watch.

Even worst than that, is that this is how they wants to end, fighting it's real all-powerful enemy.

Supergirl's final Big Bad is the "Patriarchy". Aren't you excited we'll get to defeat it together?

Finally À Good and interesting episode
juliansenechal15 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Like I said, the episode 8,9,10 are little boring but this episode is more interesting, the plot with mxly and nxly is interesting, good fight scene, I like that the all team are together every time, it's a good point, but nyxly is not very scary and badass. The plot with Lena is cool so This episode is very great but not amazing because Supergirl are the same problems, the Superfriends are too stronger and they loose with nothing, seriously, go attack nyxly and there is too much speech with the vilains and not the bug fight like before, I hope the next episode will be amazing with the big fight, big emotions, big death and more.

Good Episode
nailzag15 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was entirely from the superfriends, so you got to know the full arc of the season, which will be defeating the fifth-dimensional villains. Although I don't like the fact that Supergirl always forgives everyone, and always tries to help in a palliative way before punching the bad guys...but it was a good episode, mainly because of Nyx.
