During the massacre, soldiers are seen setting a church full of Danes on fire. This is a reference to the burning of St Frideswide's Church (now Christ Church Cathedral) during the St. Brice's Day massacre: Danes hid in the church to seek sanctuary but the church was set on fire. In 2007 a mass grave of people of danish origin was found at the site containing the bodies of 37 men with wounds on all sides of their bodies - the victims of the massacre.
