Just an amazing film on so many levels
casablancavic25 February 2021
I was so fortunate to come across this film.

It's truely amazing. It touches the core of our hearts and explains in detail humanity and our desire to become one with ourselves and the universe.

Remarkable acting. Worthy of not only an Oscar, but of much muchc more.

I could not believe that the shark was not real. The sharks in the bubbles looked so real and lifelike - hard to imagine that it was special effects.

The computer effects and special effects were beyond amazing. If I didn't know any better, I could only assume that the space craft was real as well. So well crafted and designed = as well as the costumes for the aliens.

Overall, this movie had it all...exceptional acting, drama, light touches of comedy, mystery, romance, historical accuracy - all tied nice and tight together in a story so endearing, so true - that I highly suggest that this movie be played the moment that a child is brought into this world. So that the child can experience true art.

A mind blowing script - which is so gripping in realism, a soundtrack that makes Beethoven and Mozart seem like low grade wanna-be musicians, exceptional performances, exemplementary camerawork and cinematography, brilliant sound and video editing, effects which are just out of this world, production value that not many can master and even fewer achieve.

If this is not one of the finest films you will ever see, I was blown away within the first few minutes of watching.

I knew that the actors and writers/director and producers as well as the effects people were top notch and will be well on their way to far bigger and advanced films.

Don't let anybody ever tell you that this movie isn't something special.

It took special people to come up with such a fine piece of art...very special people.

I could only assume that it took years upon years to craft a story so fine andd all the other aspects that were involved in the making of this film.

The effects are so well developed - beating out anything that has ever been done with Star Wars or Terminator or Avengers, Superman or any other multi=million dollar project.

Set design, wow...props...the skill and planning in creating the alien spaceship and tools is what a propmaster looks forward for. The art direction for this film is just as high-end as the rest of the quality of such a well constructed production.

The linquist for the alien language, remarkable that whomever devised the language for the aliens was able to come up with something so unique and intriuging, so mesmerizing.

The ONLY thing that didn't seem quite right was when the shark growled - the shark growl was too much like a land animal and not like a real shark growl. When sharks growl, they have a more base or baritone vocal range.

Beautiful locations - California with a bit of east coast and Mexico landscapes thrown in for some extra punch, One moment, the soft sandy beaches of Cuba or the Coast of Mexico will turn into cascading hills and forest for the thrill seeking adventurer in us all.

Beautiful underwater scenery and performances by the actors who manage to keep themselves together through such grueling efforts while shooting their underwater scenes. The intensity of the sharks surrounding them - and the lightning bolts from the spaceship must have been really difficult to work with, but such fine actors can make those problems seem like nothing.

All in all - one of the finest movies I have ever seen.

So remarkable on every level. Spielberg could use some of these skills when filming a shark movie.

In the movie Jaws, the shark looked fake - but not here...no way.

The sharks that explode and growl and shrink into bubbles look amazing with the effects that were used. I didn't realize that they were computer generated until somebody pointed it out. It was even a surprise that some of the footage was used multiple times...it was so well edited that it doesn't show unless you really look at the finer points...and I mean REALLY look and pinpoint for the mistakes - because they are so hard to find.

But why even look at the mistakes when something so well crafted was produced for us to bask in amazement at?

Well, to finalize - it's a film that masters every point of film making and exceeds it by a thousand times - to step far beyond what mankind can even imagine to achieve.

This is what film makers of the future should look to, to relaize the quality and dedication that is involved in making a film.

No, I'm not employed in any manner of this film. I have no connection to this film asidde of just seeing real art - so skillfully created that it embraces the human spirit and uplifts it a zen-like presence.

That is how tactfully this film is made...

Even the poster tells you the depth of the story.

Amazing....sheer amazing...

I can only imagine that a budget of 3 trillion dollars was used in creating this film - because nothing was overlooked in quality.

Fine production values and the team of producers that were brought on-board knew what they were making. They must have scrutinized every part of the script and spent years seeking out the finest actors and effects and sound people.

The woman who played the mother really brought the story to life. She brought such conviction to her role...another example of dedication to the craft. Huge future in films for her....I can picture her being called up by every producer and director in every country for their next film. You know sheer talent exumes from every pore in her body.

Shark Encounter of the Third Kind...what every movie strives to be.

Still better than Wonder Woman 1984.

Fun and enjoyable cheesy shark film
kannibalcorpsegrinder20 November 2020
Upon arriving on Earth, a group of aliens decides to mind-meld themselves with a swarm of sharks in a small-town community and use them as guards while starting their full-scale invasion, eventually alerting the locals in the town who are already convinced of alien activity and force them to fend off the creatures.

On the whole, this effort is pretty cheesy and enjoyable with a lot to like. Among its better features is the wholly impressive manner this simply dives into the cheesy nature of what's going on here. The opening shots of the crazy alien ship coming to Earth, attacking the satellites in orbit and then melding psychically with the sharks after scanning the oceans around them gives a pretty decent indication of where this one is heading from the start as the corny scenario and campy effects bring about a real charm. As well, the lovably plush puppet for the shark in the middle of the attack is a perfect capper to the sequence as it looks completely different from the CGI creature used to show it swimming around in the depths nearby but also continues its sense of goofiness with the rest of the attacks and special effects used throughout the film. This one also manages to get quite a lot to like with those main shark attacks. From the opening shot of the divers being attacked by the creatures and chomped on leaving only bloodied fragments behind, the decision to focus on the cheesy side of the genre is apparent with the attacks on the swimmer in the ocean who gets out only to be chased back in by the aliens and devoured by the sharks, a lengthy sequence in the water staking the patrol boat looking for the second diving crew or the final attack on the treasure hunters where the various sharks remaining are used for a nice series of jump attacks on the surface picking people off the boat in more scenes featuring the puppet coming into play which gives off quite a nice cheesy atmosphere. All coupled with the finale involving the resolution to the divers looking for the lost gold as well as the series of the sharks going around attacking people and aliens alike in gloriously cheesy antics, there's a lot to like here. That said, there are a few flaws to be had. The main issue is a decided lack of explanation for anything happening here, with the big issue being the early scenes of the locals being involved in their exploits with the aliens. Most of them don't connect to any kind of storyline presented here as the invasion conspiracies are quite goofy with the abduction group being a coincidence much like the secondary plot involving the treasure hunter looking for the missing gold in the area. These would all be worthwhile if they moved the plot along instead of just eating up running time in the film as that's the main culprit for the objection without a lot of shark or abduction activity to get these done with. This also means the films' ending comes off as incredibly rushed with all the information about the purpose of their visit and abductions coming in the finale just before it ends as there's no build-up to anything and uncovering of what's going on, rather just announcing everything and leaving which is a bit of a disappointment. Featuring the cheesy and outright fake-looking effects that can be a turn-off as well, these issues are what hold this one down.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

A one in a million movie 10/10
frazercrawley23 December 2023
Honestly where do I start this movie takes me to excitement levels I thought I could never reach before. From the the unbelievable special effects that I still can't believe it is fake, to the outstanding cast which contains fantastic celebrities such as Dave Fife, this guy never fails to crack me up with his witty humour and his nail biting movies he is in. Shark encounters of the third kind has now officially became my favourite movie alongside its prequels like Noah's shark and sharkula, it is up there with other classics like Shrek which I would love to see a collab in the future.

Overall it is a must watch and I would totally recommend no matter who you are with friends family or even if you have young kids it's suitable for them because there are cats. Thanks for reading I expect you to go and watch it now thank you.

Pretty damn good Polonia flick
lukasmacmillan-730509 March 2022
Shark Encounters of the third kind pretty much speaks for itself with the title. Basically theirs buried treasure underwater or something that Jeff Kirdendall and Mark Polonia are trying to get. They keep sending different divers down but then the sharks show up. Also, the aliens take control of the sharks (I think) and put some into a bubble.

The effects are pretty cool, I especially like when the aliens wave at red screens. It's a pretty ballsy move to get your audience to try and figure out what the hell is going on. For real though, theirs little explanation of the plot, but I like it that way. It's like reading a book, you have to picture it yourself. But in this case, it's a movie.

My main issue with the movie was that it was missing a huge Polonia member. James Carolus was absent from this movie. Jeff and James usually have pretty good chemistry on screen. And I know he would have added a lot more. But, again that's just personal preference.

Not much more to say about this one, have a toke and watch with some friends. That'll make it a 10/10.
