DKD is amazingly scripted and picturized altogether. The interchangable scenes of indo-pak, the languages and atmosphere, everything was convincing. Moreover, Sajal, being a perfect actor that she is, played her part in her beautiful way and made the character of Sarah shine throughout the show. However, it is worth highlighting that Ahad never misses to amaze us with his surprisingly incredible performance every chance he gets. Not only he moulded himself into looking like a young indian guy physically, but we got to see a new side of his acting as well. Even though his character demanded a laid back acting, he managed to grasp the attention all to himself by doing something as little as a twitch of his brows and patient dialogue delivery, to as strong as the natural glistening of his eyes and those defeated smiles. To finish up, Vishaal's character was a treat to watch in itself.

This was a wonderful webseries, good to see such peace promoting projects are being done, as this will bring people from both sides close to each other.
Very nicely shown in this series that how the life of a fallen soldiers family is affected. What goes in a family when one of their beloved dies fighting for their country, well depicted. More projects like this need to be shown.

This is one of those series which trying to show not the anger & hatred but the pain faced by the family of martyrs across two enemy countries! How ironically their pain, sufferings, problems everything are so similar! This series shows how two persons going through the same trauma finds peace in each other's company! Just a relation formed on pain! I know both the countries have their own explanations, but just give it a watch neutrally for once and then judge it! This is not a love story but a story of two people who despite being enemies, finds solace in each other's sufferings!

I don't know if you will like it or not.
But give it a try, it explains about both nations so well like We Pakistanis watch their movies and listen their songs. And the Indians listen t our singers like Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali khan Aand also watch Pakistanis drama serieals.
Edit: I just watched last episode, it will bring tears to your eyes.
How many more to sacrifice.

Its the most amazing TV show I have ever watched with such a unique story line. Very few film makers have dared to venture into this type of story line afraid of the type of response it will get. But I am pleased to see a above 7 rating meaning that most people liked it. I hope that the Indian film makers can reciprocate this gesture by making something in the lines of friendship between India and Pakistan. It will definitely be a voice that will atleast try to bring peace between our two nations that was once one nation.
I feel greatful to the creators especially Umera maam. Thank you so much.

Lovely story which hasn't been told before

This drama has been beautifully written and deals with the true emotions of loss. Loss of a father, husband and son and how the people these 'hero' figures carry become dependent and struggle to move on independently. This drama touches upon several social issues and is led by two very sensitive and mature actors in Ahad and Sajal. Even in scenes with no dialogue you can see how they feel. Highly recommend this. It leaves you thinking about life.
DKD is a masterpiece

Extremely below expectations.

Had very high hopes but very disappointed. First of all. The use of green screen was so lame and evident that it looked funny and ruined so many good scenes (esp the one with Vijay's funeral, was unable to focus on Ahad's acting bcz of very weirdly added people in background).
DKD tries it's best to show both nations as hypocrites who love each other's things but at the same time hate each other? How does that even work? It tries to merge two nations saying that they have same culture when in fact, they both got separated because one of the reasons was different cultural basis between the two.
Ahad is a brilliant actor but you do not get ANY Indian vibe from him. It looks like he is talking in Urdu with some Hindi words in between. Samia Mumtaz has nailed every role I have seen her in but idk what went wrong here that her dialogue delivery seemed too fake. She didn't look comfortable in her character.
While Zeb Rehman perfectly captured essence of an Indian woman, she randomly switches to Punjabi within Hindi which was VERY annoying.
The pace of the show is also VERY slow.
Disappointed!

Dhoop ki Deevar is a delicate story of the human emotions which cross even the borders..It's devoid of stupid jingoism. It reiterates the universal truth that the humanity is above all and the love is the only emotion which will rescue us from all the petty emotions.
The performances ,script ,direction ... Everything is perfect. The only glitch is the Hindi spoken by the Indians in the series .. They speak Bambaiya Hindi (tereko, mereko)and the north Indians don't speak that way so it's kind of disappointing but the content surpasses this glitch ... Overall a very heartwarming experience..Loved the series.

Well-intended. Muddled. Dull.

The show is well intended and has its heart in the right place but the execution is dull and boring and repetitive. The Indian chapter is badly researched. Basic things like Tereko-Meroko is not Punjabi speak should have been factored in and the discomfort of the actors is all too evident - all barring Ahad who is charming. But the Ahad-Sajal calls are just plain flat.
The script tries to pack in too many angles which actually is of no service to the story.
It could have a poignant narrative. Opportunity missed.

DKD is a masterpiece which will unforgettable... What an amazing storyline with strong character development and message that we should choose heart over hate .... It portrays a emotion of two families when they lost their love ones in war, one live in Pakistan and other live in India....

Dkd was never for the audience who have one-track mind. I'm happy that whatever audience it got was mature enough to understand what's the process behind such a show is. Also the last scene between Junaid & Vishal!!! Umera Ahmed hitted it right on spot.

10/10 Finally ended ! 💔💔💔
I have not seen such a beautifully end ever before .People who are saying it's a propaganda and all ,there is nothing against our religion and no other exploitation ,I request them to watch it and then decide and understand the message themselves .I am sure they will have tears 💔 it's different!
Fight for your rights, Face your enemy with courage if they have a dirty eye on your country and our rights ,dont spare them .Shaheed Zinda Hain par peeche rehne wali family zinda nai rehte 💔 We can't be united as our Allah does not permits us but war should be ended now .

When the protagonists are soldiers, I try to look at their personal lives in the story. Soldiers give their lives for their country, but how many of them do we remember at the end of the day? How do we pay for their sacrifice? The government ends its duty with medals and some one-time money! And ordinary people remember the names of few in their discussion for some time. Then?
Dhoop Ki Deewar was genuinely an emotional drama. I loved the brilliant chemistry between the whole cast. After Alif, whenever I see Manzar Sehba, I sit down and prepare to watch something very good. I love Sajal Aly's soft, natural acting; especially her crying scenes. She herself is a show! And Ahad Raza Mir was perfectly into that character. The whole cast and their performances were just fantastic.
The script, dialogue, in fact, the whole idea was amazing. I won't say anything about the soundtrack. It was insanely soothing! But the whole drama was a little slow. Overall, this drama completely exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it.

What were the makers thinking?

DKD is very slow and boring and does not live up to the hype. The comparisons all the times make you yawn. Plus it tries to humanize an army committing crimes in IOK. Sajal's acting is brilliant but you do not get to see Ahad show casing his abilities properly as he struggles to portray an Indian guy.
Must watch Awesome

Dull and Disappointing
varidhiagarwal31 July 2021
Dhoop ki Deewar has a promising theme and popular actors but extremely weak narrative. The execution is so slow paced that it's irritating. The Indian side of the family is badly researched for certain. The pretentious costumes, sardarji's in background, dialogues, TU-TU-Tereko-Mereko is glaring and out of place. All actors playing the Indian side look awkward and clueless. Sudden mix of Hindi and Punjabi is funny. Sajal n Ahad's conversations are boring and directionless. Hoping for better choice of shows like Yakeen Ka Safar from this hit couple!

Thankful to the cast, director, writers of this series. You all done a very appreciable work. I know this series criticized alot but believe me your way of presentation is much better than all dramas and fake hypocrisy content. Being literate youth of country I appreciate the whole cast and team of this series. A big thankyou to make us think about this side of aspect. ❤❤
Salute to the courage shown by the whole team. 👌🏻🙏

We've been fighting each other for such a long time. But, our problems haven't disappeared by cursing each other. Overall, a very nice show and will recommend to watch it. Pakistani dramas are reaching new heights and winning hearts. Nice acting and focus made in details.
