Which was during my childhood, and it was fun for that. Same style comedy and shenanigans. It was a light episode in comparison to the more gloomier previous ones. Very Disney.

Solid comedic episode

I see everyone is leaving bad reviews for this, but I thought it was pretty good. After a streak of dark episodes, we finally get a more lighthearted one, and it's pretty funny. Is it realistic? Does it make sense? Not really. But it's a comedy. It doesn't have to. This is kind of a parody of the MCU and it's okay. I liked the Infinite-Ultron cameo at the end.

What if formula, but a little worse

I thought this episode was enjoyable, but honestly I'm a little frustrated at the writers. When you have 9 slots in a season to fill, and you can do ANYTHING in the Mcu multiverse, you chose to make Thor a party clown. And it's not even cool Russo/Taika Thor, it's phase one thor. One thing I will note is that the writings feels like it was written by a six year old. Now, this works sometimes, but it completely misses other times. Specifically in the dialogue is where is really noticed problems. There was also some dialogue I liked, but most of the "jokes" were just not funny. It follows the what if formula, but if a six year old was in charge.
Okay but what was that?

Was the whole episode thought up in 10 minutes or something?

They have so much you can do with Thor but instead they decided on the most bland and uninteresting story concept you could think of for the character - Thor is a big party dude in this version of reality? Who cares. His party becomes such a big deal that it leads SHIELD to reach out to Captain Marvel? Again, who cares? Such a juvenile episode with some pretty poor attempts at trying to be funny, and what is with the animation on Thor's face? He looks so strange and the thing is they portrayed him a lot better stylistically in an earlier appearance. If not for the animation style this could've been like Marvel's answer to DC's Teen Titans Go!, which is not a very good thing. The best thing about this episode was Maria Hill, this might be the first time that the character is portrayed more like her comic counterpart - cold, stone serious, and not wanting to take any BS.
Boring episode

I'm sure your 6 year old child will enjoy this episode. It offers nothing more than that. They had endless possibilities and they came up with this silly story. Had so much expectations after watching rest of the episodes. Just disappointed :/
What if...we hire a 6 year old as our scriptwriter?

I haven't got much to say about this episode because basically this episode didn't have much plot at all. I mean destruction by party? Who thought of that idea? And the dialogues were awful, cringey and all over the place. Basically the worst of the what if series till now.
This was good

Entertaining but Too Childish

It was entertaining. That's it. It was a good break from the gloomy episodes proceeding it. Other than that, it was childish humor. Thor dropped to a new level with his kindergartener personality. I guess that's what happens when a person doesn't grow up with a thought-to-be blood brother. All because him and Loki didn't grow up together, he never matured. What else to talk about? Oh yes, the likeness of the characters. Ninety percent of the MCU characters looked like Market Pantry versions. What's with the downgrade? So far in this series, the characters looked almost identical to their actor counterparts. A bonus though is the fact that the cast was maxed out with the actual MCU actors. At least the ending had a real "What If...?" consequence that had potential. Hopefully they tie it in some how.
We get it. Thor is nothing but a joke now.

Seriously what if Thor was an only child? He would just go and party? At least the other episodes took real opportunity to make a compelling story. Like what if Thor became king!?!? What if Thor was never worthy? But instead we get that Captain Marvel is apparently a "party pooper".
Thor in the comics is such a better character than what the MCU has turned him into. But speaking of the past films Thor didn't become Thor because Loki was his brother. Loki wasn't the one to banish him until he were to become worthy. It was his relationships on Earth that made him Thor and worthy.
Also why is it that all these well known villains just come to earth to party? Honestly who in the writers room got the go to to make this as a what if event and why did a 11 year old get there.
I get that Marvel is all about laughs anymore. But there comes a point where Thor afraid of his mommy coming to earth because he wasn't studying is the most childish thing.
What If has a lot of potential but the short runtimes and this kind of garbage really sets the MCU backwards and not forward.

Only Reviewing the Animation Style
MamadNobari9722 September 2021
The episode was fine, only gonna talk about the animation style.
The animation of this series is ok and actions are cool and all, but I don't understand why character design is so weird? Like why is it that outside of MCU movies, everyone is afraid to make the characters look like the MCU actors? Marvel's Avengers game, GOTG game, and What If. I know that they probably have to pay for the likeness of the actors but this one is a weird one.
Like characters look like their MCU counterpart but after a while you realize they're really not alike. Like half of the characters have just different faces and the other half is 70% like the MCU actors. Why is it that way?
Even though they have the actual actors to do the voices, the character designs are either roughly the same or the likeness is just nonexistent. So what's the deal here?
Just stick to one thing, either don't have the characters look like the MCU actors, which is dumb, or actually do it and make them to look at least 90% like their movies counterpart instead of this half-assed designs which are really confusing.

Fun but not the best
youssefamirabdelazem23 September 2021
The episode is very funny and hilarious. I laughed my ass out in it. But still, dramatically it wasn't that good at all. I also have to admit that the animation was pretty good.
I can say that it's a fun episode but not the best at all.
