A very compelling strong acting and story pace make for this police procedural drama to keep you on your toes. Apart from a few blunders in the script, that make you put the whole story to question, such as victim being shot from behind, prosecutor not questioning the suspect first, happy coincidences that no witness see or hear - such as shots fired and preparations made in the hotel parking that nobody sees, etc. Small things that have the potential to ruin such an attentive to details script. But altogether a strong ensemble and atmosphere make for this to be one of the best Romanian movies in recent years. A hidden gem since the director is not part of the famous festival possee.

First of all, I can't believe I am the first reviewer on Imdb for this outstanding film...
I feel compelled to advertise it, as I am a romanian and I have to admit, this film made me proud.
Nevertheless, I will be as objective as I can.
"Unidentified" is a slow burn drama, very well acted, sharply written, with excellent camera work and great use of classical music, basically it has all the necessary ingredients of a solid film (yes, it deserves to be adressed as film, not as movie).
It is one of 2021's hidden gems and you don't have to be a romanian to recognize this fact.
9 out of 10 stars. I gave it such a high score also because It feels so amazing to have such a pleasant cinematic surprise every once in a while and I am honoured to write it's first review here.

This is one of the weakest Romanian films I have seen. Genre pure drama, extremely slow-paced, with frequent sequences of classical music that connect the plot of the film as interludes. The film essentially has two stories. The cop is a true psycho psychopath, but the whole story seems extremely confused and unconvincing. Rating to avoid viewing. I wasted two hours for nothing. 4/10.
