From true crime shows to a new dark comedy from HBO, there’s a great range of new titles coming to streaming this week.
It’s Monday again, and for most American adults that means the resumption of the work week. It’s never a great feeling to be facing yet another Monday, though at least fans of new shows like “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” have a brand-new episode to look forward to this week.
If your favorite title is still on hiatus thanks to the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes, or if you’re simply out of shows and movies on your watchlist, this is the list for you. The Streamable has compiled an index of new titles coming to various streaming services every day this week, which should hopefully give you something to look forward to when your work day is done!

Nearly two years have gone by since Scream Factory brought the “nature run amok” cult classic Alligator and its sequel Alligator II: The Mutation to Blu-ray in North America. Now 101 Films’ Black Label are set to Alligator a 4K release in the UK – and since 4K Uhd discs are region free, fans outside the UK will be able to enjoy this release as well! The release date is January 29th, and copies are available for pre-order through the 101 Films website. The Alligator 4K is accompanied by a fresh Blu-ray release of Alligator II: The Mutation, but if you’re outside the UK you might need a region free player to watch that one.

Amazon Prime Video is delving deeper into the true crime mystery game.
The streamer has greenlit The Tinder Swindler and Don’t F**k with Cats producer Raw TV to make Dead in the Water, which will tell the gripping global story of the long hunt for a brutal killer that spans four decades.
In 1978, a young British couple embarked on the trip of a lifetime through remote Central America. Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton set out on an exhilarating backpacking adventure, but their dream soon turned into a chilling nightmare when they were brutally murdered and the trail for their killer goes cold. Four decades later, failed by law enforcement, their family take up the manhunt and begin the descent into an unknown world of online sleuthing, making a shocking discovery.

Raw TV, the production company behind “The Tinder Swindler,” have set a new true crime documentary with Amazon Prime Video about the 1978 murders of Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton.
Titled “Dead in the Water,” it follows the story of Farmer and Frampton, a young British couple who went missing in 1978 after going backpacking in Central America. Their bodies were eventually discovered 200 metres off the coast of Guatemala tied to engine parts.
They were quietly buried in a sprawling cemetery in the Guatemalan city of Puerto Barrios, with the location of their graves a mystery to their families for four decades — crucially impeding the investigation into their murders — before they were eventually rediscovered. Their killer has never been brought to justice.
“The letters they write and the tapes they sent home were filled with tales of exotic landscapes, cultural encounters, and the thrill of the unknown,” reads the synopsis for the doc.

After racking up more than a decade of acting credits, Angela Gulner – who has been in the genre films Take Back the Night, Dead in the Water, and The Summoned, as well as a season 3 episode of the Netflix series Glow – is making her feature directorial debut with the psychological horror thriller The Beldham, which is currently filming in Oklahoma. Deadline reports that The Beldham stars Patricia Heaton of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, as well as Corbin Bernsen (City on a Hill), Katie Parker (The Midnight Club), Emma Fitzpatrick (The Collection), and Hannah Reese (Baby Money).
Described as being “about mother-daughter relationships”, The Beldham sees Heaton taking on the role of Sadie, a fierce caregiver determined to protect her family from a monstrous presence that threatens to tear them all apart.
Gulner wrote the screenplay for the film and is producing it with Mark Meir for Wicked Myth Films,...

This Tales of the Walking Dead article contains no spoilers.
The bevy of spinoffs announced in the wake of the final season of The Walking Dead has been the subject of everything from excitement to exasperation among audiences. For anyone who checked out with the death of Abraham and Glenn at the onset of season 7, it could seem that the franchise is trying to get blood from a turnip.
For many fans, however, placing a greater emphasis on the ensemble cast while allowing the structural hierarchy of the early seasons to slip away has created a renewed interest in the show. With its newest entry, Tales of the Walking Dead, opening up the franchise in ways that the main series never could, it seems that now more than ever, the sky could be the limit for The Walking Dead.

Stars: Emma Fitzpatrick, Jennifer Lafleur, Angela Gulner, Sibongile Mlambo, Corina Kinnear, Kati Sharp, Natalie D’Amico, Jess Varley, Mecca Morgan White, Richard McDowell, Kwanza Gooden, Tony Sgro | Written by Gia Elliot, Emma Fitzpatrick | Directed by Gia Elliot
Right from the title director Gia Elliot and co-writer Emma Fitzpatrick make it clear that Take Back the Night isn’t just another monster movie. By using the slogan of many marches and movements protesting violence against women as their title they signal their intention to make this about more than simple scares.
The challenge with that is not letting the message overwhelm the actual plot and the film’s entertainment value. Or worse become heavy-handed and preachy. The Hunting, which I recently reviewed, is an example, its message about veterans and Ptsd taking over what was supposed to be a werewolf film. Can the makers of Take Back the Night succeed where many have failed before?...

Hey everyone! We have one last batch of horror and sci-fi home media releases headed our way before the end of the month, and this week’s offerings are massive, with well over 20 titles coming out on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD this Tuesday alone.
One of my favorite creature features ever is getting some love in HD finally, with Scream Factory’s 4K release of Lewis Teague’s Alligator (and its sequel is headed to Blu-ray this week as well), and the horror comedy Dead Heat is also getting a 4K upgrade. For all you giallo fans out there, Forgotten Gialli: Volume 3 is being released tomorrow and features three more Italian classics genre fans are going to want to own, and Severin Films is keeping busy with a ton of titles this week too: Bloody Pit of Horror, Black Candles, Night of the Demon, and The Halfway House.

A series of prominent TV-series endings will give AMC Networks an opportunity to seek new beginnings with advertisers.
The New York owner of the AMC, IFC and Sundance cable networks will be selling ad inventory in the final cycles of “The Walking Dead,” “Better Call Saul” and “Killing Eve,” all part of the media industry’s annual “upfront” market, when U.S. TV networks try to sell the bulk of their commercial inventory for next season.
AMC Networks executives plan to visit different media agencies the week of April 5th, and have developed a bespoke presentation for each, says Kim Granito, executive vice president of integrated marketing. The conversations will focus on, among other things, AMC’s control of digital inventory across a wide array of venues where its programming appears, along with new linear and digital programming.
“We need to stitch together a lot of things together to really provide solutions for our clients,...

Looking to expand opportunities for advertisers beyond pay-tv, AMC Networks has set a slate of original digital series to be produced by the studio arm of its in-house brand agency, The Content Room.
The shows, which connect with marquee properties from across the AMC Networks portfolio, offer another option for media buyers looking for a new route to consumers increasingly less tethered to pay-tv. Individual portfolio meetings with advertisers will start the week of April 5.
A model for the new originals, the company said, is its successful home-grown franchise, Bottomless Brunch at Colman’s, created and hosted by Fear the Walking Dead’s Colman Domingo. The show began as a digital short during the initial onset of Covid-19 and is now a Diageo-sponsored series featured across many concurrent platforms. It spans YouTube and Igtv, streams on SVOD, AVOD and free, ad-supported channels, runs on linear TV on the SundanceTV network,...
