- Srikant Tiwari has started a new life as an IT employee, but he can’t stay away from adventure when JK is sent to Chennai to nab a former foreign insurgent. Chennai TASC agent, Muthu and JK are faced with a hostage situation in Chennai. And Dhriti may have a boyfriend.
- Several years ago, Bhaskaran (Mime Gopi), Deepan (Azhagam Perumal), and Bhaskaran's brother Subbu (Srikrishna Dayal) escape an attack on their base from the Sri Lankan forces led by Lasit Rupatunga (Abhishek Shankar). The LTTE was planning a major attack on Sri Lankan infrastructure such as airports, ports and highways to cripple the national economy and to force the Government to the negotiating table. Subbu hates negotiations and wants to create a Tamil homeland in Sri Lanka by force. Subbu wants an independent Tamil nation and not autonomy. Deepan favors politics over war.
The trio resolve to continue their fight for the Tamil Eelam while fleeing the country on a boat. Jayanthi (Geeta Tandon) was the trusted soldier who drove the trio away to safety. Jayanthi attacks as a human suicide bomber to stop Rupatunga's forces from attacking the escaping trio. Rupatunga says that Indian PM Basu had promised not to let the LTTE escape into Indian territory. While the LTTE feel abandoned when they don't receive any response from Indian authorities to their pleas for help. But they get a response from a Pakistani ship waiting for them in international waters.
In the present time, Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee), the iconic TASC agent, has quit TASC and now works as an IT employee. Srikant's manager is a very young looking Tanmay (Kaustubh Kumar). Tanmay chides Srikant for being late to the office. Srikant blames his brother Surendar (Himanshu Ahluwalia) for being part of this corporate grind. Rupatunga asks the Indian PM Basu (Seema Biswas) to hand over Subbu to them. Rupatunga is the PM of Sri Lanka. He is courting the Chinese and PM Basu won't stand for it. Rupatunga wants Subbu in exchange for not letting Chinese control a port in Sri Lanka, which gives them control over the Indian Ocean. France and UK are about to recognize the LTTE Govt in Exile and Ruptaunga wants to use Subbu as leverage to force LTTE to stand down. Bhaskaran and Deepan are heading the Govt in Exile from London.
Suchitra (Priyamani) has left her job and is seeking counseling. Principal (Sohaila Kapur) tells Srikant that Atharv (Vedant Sinha) has ADHD. He plays a shooting game all the time and she asks Srikant to stop buying him expensive gifts. Srikant has bought a new apartment in an under-construction building.
It is revealed that TASC averted the gas leak at Orion from turning into a major disaster. Punit (Aritro Rudraneil Banerjee) tracked Milind's (Sunny Hinduja) phone to Orion Chemicals. Srikant orders all backup forces to be diverted to the factory in chemical hazmat suits. The forces stop the gas leaks, start the scrubbing tank and activate the flare tower. Zoya (Shreya Dhanwanthary) put breathing masks on herself and Milind and escaped the plant in a car. But they were both overcome by the toxic gases already inhaled and pass out. They are located and taken to the hospital. Since this cannot be termed as a win for the terrorists, CEO of Orion Ahuja (Amit Chakrabarty) is briefed by Kulkarni to call this an industrial accident, due to equipment failure. Orion's losses due to loss of reputation will be covered by Government grants. Srikant quits TASC.
PM Basu asks Kulkarni (Dalip Tahil) to devise a plan to hand over Subbu to the Lankan government. Sambit (Vipin Sharma) is Basu's top advisor. Subbu is in Chennai to lobby his benefactors for recognition of his Government in Exile. Subbu is the Foreign Minister of the Govt in Exile and not a wanted man in India. Kulkarni is not convinced, but Basu says that she needs to prevent the Chinese from taking control of the Indian Ocean. Srikant and JK visit Milind who still hasn't recovered from his trauma. He blames himself for his failure. Srikant counsels Milind that this is the job and not to blame himself for the risks and failures involved. Milind chides Srikant for leaving TASC himself.
JK (Sharib Hashmi) is sent to Chennai to oversee a low-key operation to apprehend Subbu and bring him to Mumbai's TASC office. However, Subbu overpowers TASC officers, takes hostages, and refuses to negotiate. He is still holed up in a lodged which is surrounded by the TASC team. JK reaches on site. The local TASC team is led by Muthu Pandian (Ravindra Vijay). Srikant calls JK for lunch, who tells Srikant about what is going on.
Srikant asks JK to enlist the help of Chellam (Udhayabanu Maheshwaran), a retired legendary agent who ran missions in Sri Lanka during the civil war and is a close friend of Bhaskaran, to end the crisis. JK relays the info to Kulkarni and Sharma (Pawan Chopra), who authorize Srikant to contact Chellam. Srikant asks Chellam to speak to Bhaskaran.
Bhaskaran convinces Subbu to surrender and Subbu is taken into legal custody for killing TASC. officers.
Kalyan (Abhay Verma), a close friend of Srikant's daughter Dhriti (Ashlesha Thakur), drops her home and is revealed to be an ally of Sajid (Shahab Ali), the terrorist from the Orion chemical fiasco, who is now in London. Kalyan's real name is Salman.
