silly but fun
ksf-28 December 2021
Dad bartek hires people to raid his family estate to force the kids to go find jobs. This sounds like an old black and white u.s. Film from 1930, with robert taylor or william powell, but until i remember it, it IS a remake of Madcaps from 1949. So the kids go get jobs. And they finally all start talking, as a family. For the first time. Dad realizes the communication issues and work ethics problems are not all on the offspring. Lessons to be learned all around. And the kids have some surprises in store for papa as well. Predictable, silly but fun. Directed by nicolas cuche.

Funny but wrong

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this film for its humour and entertainment. However, the message at the end with the dad being in the wrong... does not sit well with me. I could see it from his point of view. And his spoilt, irresponsible adult kids did give him a heart attack. It's ridiculous these 3 blamed all their first world problems on their father, who only tried to do his best.

A feel good sharp cookie cutter
indraniaray2 December 2021
A fun clean film is such a rarity. Is it cookie-cutter? A 100%. But it is a cute chuckle fest cookie-cutter done so well. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The beats are perfect and it coasts along really well with tons of life lessons tucked in without the narrative sagging anywhere.

Entertaining and light
mmartic-219372 December 2021
It's over-the-top but light movie about spoiled kids of a self-made man and how he is trying to change things for the better.

It might be interesting to those who have problems with their own spoiled adult kids.

Him having a heart attack is relatable to many with their own problematic brats.

Lovely movie
bozopauk1 December 2021
This movie is what you would expect to see, in a positive way. It is something new, not the most usual storyline you can find.

Downs to this movie are some weird parts of plot. They are really unrealistic. Also personally, the length of certain events in the movies are badly divided. I would have like some parts and events to be more details and with more stories to reflect the current state.

It seems to me as big part of the story, maybe the key part lasted quite short.

It has its ups and downs of course, but in the end it is a good movie to check, it will probably be worth the time.

Interesting plot, some funny moments
v-5628914 December 2021
The plot is interesting. It was fun to watch when the kids had to start working, there could have been much to that though. Some funny moments, but there are better comedy movies.

The original, the Mexican film is better but this is good too
ohSheti27 November 2021
France has good cinema I like a lot of movies of France but the original movie because it's a remake of nosotros los nobles the Mexican movie has a special humor that's why maybe in the movie only French can understand and not all people in the world can understand anyway see both I recommend them.

Beautiful
rudolphi30 November 2021
This is easily a very cute, feel good movie with a decent plot and good actors. Certainly worth the time. It might not be the most original thing bit would definitely be relatable anyone at some point in life. I certainly love it. Need more like this.

Nothing Much to Talk About
albertval-6956017 January 2022
This is a decent comedy but nothing extraordinary about it. Sure, it sends home a message but this is not delivered with conviction. It's like it comes and it goes. It doesn't really stick in the viewer's mind.

It's worth taking your time to watch
lckm-979-28531726 November 2021
Look, people, I am also a father ... The most relevant thing about the movie is that it doesn't do anything fancy. It just shows how a father can use his imagination to try to make their own "children" do better. It does have some really genuine funny scenes where you are sorry for the "CHILDREN" (rsrsrsr), but you can't help but laugh at what's happening to them. Some scenes could benefit of some speed, but it is already expected, because after all, it is a French movie. Summin up, the good stuff outclasses any flaws.

Rich but poor
kosmasp28 December 2022
No pun intended - the summary of this gave away the big twist the movie has. But I think it still kind of worked ... and I guess most will know where this is heading even without knowing what the movie plans for them (no pun intended here either). French comedies tend to go places that US/Hollywood counterparts are not touching. You may not feel that this movie touches stuff that way ... still it is funny - with or without the knowledge that is important and missing from our main characters (most of them that is).

How would you react if you found out that you are not rich anymore? Yeah I know! Most do not have that issue or can relate .. in that sense. But if you suspend your disbelief and just go for the ride, there is a lot of fun to be had ... even with the ridiculous twist this offers ...

Bad remake of a Mexican film
nirvana-582781 December 2021
Once una blue moon we had a great original Mexican film, and this movie made no honor.

Seriously I watched the whole hoping for a twist in the story something new to offer, but no, actually is not as fun, they missed a lot of scenes, feels like they couldn't make an effort to adapt well the story to France.

Watch the original!!!

Spoiled Brats shows you humility
d_penn1 January 2022
Not a bad movie at all. Only bad thing is it's in French (unless you speak it lol) subtitles are your best friend. Really shows the meaning of family and humility.

Would've benefited from being a miniseries
simplysumfink28 February 2023
A decent premise and likeable and entertaining performances from Artus, Tom Leeb, Louka Meliava and Camille Lou notwithstanding, I can't help wishing that this largely acceptable feature had been produced as a miniseries instead. It just feels like so much of it would've benefitted from more time: more time to develop the plot, more time to witness the main characters' respective arcs (and maybe even to understand their individual evolutions) and more time to get to know the largely underused support characters. And definitely more screen time for Lou and Leeb, who tend to command your attention in most of the scenes they are in. The performances still make for an enjoyable hour and a half, though I was a little disappointed with the resolution. To be fair, this is something else more runtime would probably have resolved.

Could do better
nutmadridmm17 December 2022
The Original movie is pretty God. Is funniest, romantic, sad, an the fool brother Luis y Karla are funnier, I prefer the other characters but still liked it. But the original is from 10 years ago, could be more modern and better dialogues and funniest scenes as the Original, I didn't like it, that I felt that was shorter than the original, because in the other happens romantic issues, sad moments, and you said: " you deserved it for irresponsible" . But as usual remakes are not better than the original. A shame.

But the story have a very bright and god lesson for life.

Recommends to see if you are an spoilt or snob even if you don't.

Annoying characters.
deloudelouvain10 September 2023
Pourris Gâtés (or Spoiled Brats for the English title) is a French comedy I was looking forward to watch just because of Gérard Jugnot, an actor that normally always makes me laugh. The movies he played in with "l'équipe du Spendid" are all very successful. From Les Bronzés, Les Bronzés font du Ski to the cult movie Le Père Noël est une Ordure, all movies that almost everybody watched and rewatched in France and Belgium. But this movie wasn't as good as I was expecting, mainly due to the extremely annoying characters. His children are all spoiled brats, and maybe it's just me, but I just don't enjoy watching people like that, even if there's a lesson to be learned at the end. It wasn't that funny so that didn't help either. I don't regret watching it though, just won't watch it again in the future.

A truth-distorting insult to reality and an affront to working people
patrickfilbeck10 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was very reluctant to see this insult to the intellect in the sneak in a cinema in Germany. This film is a remake and I have to admit I haven't seen the original. But I will refrain from doing that, because the basic plot of this film - and the original is also based on it - is just a nasty and untrue insult to the intellect of the working man / woman.

The film is about the spoiled children of a multimillionaire (possibly even a billionaire) with property in Monaco, dozens of cars, pools, jewelry and other abundance and the relationship that this man has with his children. The former poor bricklayer (yeah, exactly, from bricklayer to billionaire ...) wants his children to recognize what hard work is because he is disappointed in the three characters in their characters. One is a fat idiot who only comes up with stupid ideas and thinks he can make money with them, the other brother is a rich hippie who sleeps with a thousand women, has flowing curls and constantly gossips about nature without saying anything about her understand, and the sister is a spoiled, self-portraying Instagram woman who gets upset about the employees in expensive but cheap clothes and whose only obvious interest is her body and appearance.

After a lot of nonsense has come together from all three, he collapses in order to later have the crazy idea of a reform for his children in the hospital bed. In this way he arranges the illusion of a company fraud, a subsequent police raid, frozen accounts and the joint escape to Marseilles. There he wants to bring the children to work through the absence of his wealth. The fat man then drives a bicycle taxi, the daughter becomes a waitress in a proletarian fish restaurant and the hippie helps his father renovate his house in the city. This property from the early proletarian times of his youth is by no means typical of proletarian life in the city, but the direction, script and production imagined this illusion. Of course, all three get jobs or find employment - and although they are all not good at it at the beginning and their spoiled streak flashes through - beware! - the siblings get used to it very quickly. Then you make friends with your ghetto colleague, who also drives a bicycle taxi, you drink shots with your proletarian colleagues, or you find a relationship with manual labor, far from being a detached hippie. Yeah yeah Then it takes his 2 or 3 months and the father feels really cool and notices that his experiment is working, while evil shadows are already lurking in the background. He finds out very sensitively what the poor rich kids have suffered when their father ripped off the millions and couldn't be there for them. Anorexia for the daughter, a stomach ailment for the fat one and - beware of the creative side - drugs for the hippie. All core problems of the suffering upper class, which you sooo seldom find when you look in the working class suburbs. No, no girls are driven into a bad body feeling and finally into anorexia by rich Instagrammers who shop at Gucci every day, because - please! - these are exclusive problems of the unfortunate rich. Then you worked it off in relation to the script. Because poor, rich, mega-rich, what the heck! We're all human, folks! And we all have problems, both up there and down there - completely the same, just not in the relationship between income and effort. Then the father is discovered by his daughter's fiancé, who was betrayed by marriage, during his deception and - just so that the film can go on for another 20 minutes - he agrees to pretend that this fiancé has just saved the family and the company.

Then they all return to their rich life, none of them have learned anything, but of course the unwanted wedding is still on the way and that - surprise! - Quite coincidentally, on the day when the head of the family also decides that he wants to tell his children the truth about the trick of improving behavior (which, as is well known, did not work). The wedding is then called off with a slap in the face, but the happy ending, people, oh, the happy ending, that is still a long time coming. A full 8 minutes when it comes up. Because of course they are all disappointed in their father when he reveals to them what character traits of his children were the motivation for this trick. Then all of them - mimimi - never want to see him again. Really! Never again!

Cut ... 9 months later. The children live in the property in Marseilles and live their proletarian life there. The daughter has gone from being a waitress to a restaurant owner, the hippie has his own plumber / housewife traffic company and the fat man and his ghetto friend have built a sneaker brand and their own sales department. Yep, realistic and very proletarian ... or rather aristocratic family teaching and entrepreneurial blood is in the blood of the millionaire bricklayer children ??? Yeah, yeah, the stupid real waitresses and the stupid other bicycle taxi drivers and the other stupid hippie plumbers are all too mindless and stupid for that. Then they live in their common house and suddenly they all get along really well. The father comes by with flowers and after a few sad looks and faking the final farewell they pull themselves together to see a father in the last scene who proudly admires his children while smoking cigarettes. Because they can really do something. They haven't learned anything, they haven't reflected and they haven't had a real experience of poverty and hard work either, but hey, what does it matter if you want to show a film that, besides a thousand anti-socialities, has absolutely no consistency in itself claimed. Wow, really, wow.

In addition, numerous small mendacious things are told about reality that are really freaking out. This film is nothing but a cementing of the class relations, a pitying affliction of the upper class and a blow in the pit of the stomach of every worker and every employee.

All those involved here have put themselves to shame with this film and expressed their lack of respect and understanding for and for the concerns of the less well-heeled.

Definitely one of the worst films of all time, but definitely also one of the most anti-social. But in a world that prefers to deal with woken nonsense and insult He-Man fans, create Mary-Sues and steal continuity and established history from every second superhero because of a thousand new sexualities, it's no wonder that "cultural high society" is blind is for the needs of the decent working people on this planet.

Oh yes: what about the genre? Comedy? You just laugh out of desperation at the ridiculously arrogant and self-indulgent attitude of those responsible for it. Otherwise, the comedy interludes are either stolen, processed, poorly presented and embarrassing.

Avoid this film, or if you want to do it to yourself, then don't be afraid to tell those responsible that they are creating nothing more than a masterpiece of the outrageous and anti-social.

0 out of 10 points. Greetings from Germany, thanks for reading.

A funny... lesson
CroftAngel10 May 2022
Pleasant, funny and sometimes sentimental story.

A widowed father gives a life lesson to his 3 children, who grew up in the wildest luxury. They have no sense of duty, they don't value money, and they have no desire to do anything about their future. That's exactly what his father will try to teach him.

So disappointing
BlurryWitch15 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm so disappointed with this movie. The idea seemed very promising: self-made businessman father wants to teach his superrich spoiled brats the value of money and hard work, so he makes them believe they're broke and forced to work for a living. It thought this would be fun, and it was at first. The spoiled brats have to job hunt and get their hands dirty.

You know they'll eventually go back to their superrich life, and of course it soon happens.

And that's where it should get really interesting. How will they process their experience as working class people? How will they integrate those two aspects of themselves into one new person? How will they grow from the experience? I was looking forward to seeing that process unfold.

Well, the movie doesn't show it!!!

It just skips ahead nine months and poof!! All of a sudden, it's all already done. They have processed everything, integrated everything, healed everything, and started a new life. How it happened exactly, we have no idea.

Wut?!

I'm so disappointed.

Cute Entertaining Movie

Light hearted entertaining movie. Good casting for interesting characters.

Apparently this is a remake someone else commented, so going to search for that movie as well and watch it, as I enjoyed this one that much.

Nice comedy...
Thanos_Alfie9 March 2023
"Spoiled Brats" is a Comedy movie in which we watch a father trying learn a lesson to his three spoiled children pretending that the family lost all of its fortune and now they will have to find regular jobs in order to survive and have food on their table.

I enjoyed this movie because it had a simple but very funny plot and it also contained plenty of humorous dialogs along with plenty of hilarious scenes. The interpretations of the main cast and more specifically of Gérard Jugnot who played as Francis Bartek, Camille Lou who played as Stella Bartek, Louka Meliava who played as Alexandre Bartek and Artus who played as Philippe Bartek were very good and their combination worked very well and gave us plenty of funny moments. Finally, I have to say that "Spoiled Brats" is a nice comedy movie and I highly recommend everyone to watch it because I am sure you will enjoy it and you will laugh a lot.

Watch the (original) Mexican version instead
searma174 December 2021
I tend to really enjoy French movies, so I gave this Mexican remake a chance. Bad. Idea. The movie tries to adapt the original story into French culture but it just doesn't work. For the first hour of the movie I didn't crack a single laugh. The Mexican story on the other hand is funny from beginning to end. Don't waste your time and just watch that instead.

I enjoyed it!
Australian126 July 2022
If one makes comparisons to a different version or from another country, it isn't fair.

Like the remake of "Overboard" it was good on it's own merit, story changed a bit. But everybody compared it to the original Goldie Hawn movie and that was not fair.

Funny and Beautiful
sktk-6730827 November 2021
Movies such as this may not get the best rating from the normie army that dislike movies that doesn't stimulate their stereotypes. But it's an enjoyable experience for people looking for a well told story.

Liked the genuine emotions and humour in this film, well written and excellent acting.

It was exactly what I needed. Would love to see other international versions. Could've been slightly longer with a bit more layers, but it did it's job.
