- After Vincent's call, Lucifer and Chloe wonder how the mercenary could have captured Rory. Chloe points out that their daughter is half-human and thus has human vulnerabilities. Lucifer says that he'll get Rory back, but Chloe refuses to let him walk into a trap on the day he disappears. Lucifer refuses to let the mother of their child go, and Chloe points out that they know she makes it out fine because Rory is born. The devil says that he has a choice, and his choice is to save their daughter. Chloe insists on going with Lucifer, and reminds him that they're partner until the end. Lucifer gives in, and they both go.
At a warehouse at 10th and Swanson, Rory is chained to a chair. Vincent put a shotgun to her head, and Rory says that no one in the future has ever heard of him. Her captor says that it doesn't matter, and what matters is that Lucifer will come there and not leave. Rory realizes where they are, and Vincent explains that he knows everything because Lucifer told Dan about it when Dan was possessing Victor's body. Rory realizes that she's the reason Lucifer disappears.
Rory sprouts her wings and easily breaks free of the chains, and uses her wings to cut Vincent's shotgun in half. One of Vincent's men comes out and shoots Rory with a tranq dart, and then another. It takes two darts to knock Rory out, and as she passes out Vincent tells her she's going to be more than just bait.
Lucifer and Chloe arrive, and Chloe comes up on one of Vincent's men from behind, trains her gun on him, and tells him to drop his walkie-talkie. He throws it at her and tries to attack her, and Lucifer grabs hi, and the guard slashes Lucifer's wrist with his knife. Chloe knocks the guard out from behind, and they realize that the "knife" is one of Rory's feathers. The two of them continue on.
Rory wakes up, her wings chained to pillars. One of Vincent's mercenaries, Bridget, is pulling out the feathers from her wings, and Vincent tells Rory that she's also the weapon so he can gain blades that will kill Lucifer. Vincent says that Lucifer tortured him, from whispering in his ear, and Rory figures that Lucifer brought Vincent's guilt out. Bridget reports that they have two "guests", and shed tells the others that they should keep Lucifer alive but can kill Chloe. When Rory yells a warning to her parents, Vincent gags her
Lucifer and Chloe fight their way in, Chloe using her gun and Lucifer using his fists and Maze's blade. Bridget comes after Chloe with one of the feather-knives, and manages to put the knife in Chloe's chest before Chloe knocks her out. She says that they know from Rory that she dies in the future so she must be fine, and tells Lucifer to go on. They kiss and then Lucifer continues on.
Entering the warehouse proper, Lucifer finds Rory bound and gagged. Vincent steps out and aims his gun at Lucifer, who tells the mercenary that he doesn't have to do it. Vincent tells him to stop the constant anguish he's in, and Lucifer says that he can't, and that Vincent is feeling guilt and Vincent knows it. Lucifer warns Vincent that if he kills an innocent girl, his "pain" will be a thousand times worse. When Vincent says that it's worth it to make Lucifer feel what he is feeling, Lucifer says that he won't and invites Vincent to ask him what he desires. Lucifer says that he wants to be the father Rory deserves. He invites Vincent to kill him, because he'll suffer the pain of leaving behind the ones he loves.
Lucifer kneels, and Rory yells "Dad!", rips her wings loose to break free, and stops Vincent from killing Lucifer. She grabs the mercenary by the throat and lifts him into the air, and Lucifer tells her to stop and not become a killer and hate herself like Lucifer does. He begs Rory to be better than him, and she drops Vincent. Lucifer says that Rory called him "Dad" for the first time, and she jokingly denies it. He hugs her, and Vincent stands up and prepares to stab Lucifer in the back. Chloe arrives and throws two of the feather-knives into Vincent's chest, and Rory goes to her.
Walking over to the dying Vincent, Lucifer hears the mercenary say that he wanted to see the light Daniel saw. Lucifer realizes that Daniel made it to Heaven, and Vincent says that he sees only darkness and dies.
The police arrive and take away the other mercenaries, and the EMTs tend to Chloe. Lucifer jokingly tells her to be more careful next time, and Chloe points out that they did it and Lucifer doesn't disappear. He goes over to a glum-looking Rory and she notes that she's still there. Rory figures that Lucifer still abandons her and she travels back in time, and figures Lucifer will leave but doesn't know why.
Later at the penthouse, Lucifer tells Chloe and Rory that Dan is in Heaven. Chloe figures that Dan talked to Trixie while he was in Vincent's body, and Lucifer relates what he told Dan earlier. Rory figures that Lucifer got Dan to Heaven, like he did with Lee. Chloe and Rory points out that Lucifer helped them both, and kept Rory from killing Vincent. Lucifer says that he didn't want Rory to repeat his sins, and Rory figures she came back in time so that Lucifer could help her.
Chloe suggests that Lucifer can help everyone who is in Hell that deserves another chance. Lucifer realizes that God knew that Hell needs a healer not a keeper, and that he's finally found his calling. Rory figures that's why Lucifer left, and that's why Lucifer left and Chloe couldn't tell her. It all leads to what happened, and Rory says that it was her choices that made her a lost soul like the others, and she wouldn't change a thing knowing what she knows. She tells Lucifer that he was there when she needed him most, and saved her.
Rory hugs Lucifer, and then she starts to go back. As she starts to disappear, Rory makes Lucifer swear that he won't change anything. Lucifer reluctantly does so, and Rory says that she loves them both and disappears.
Later, Lucifer and Chloe go down to Lux. Lucifer sits at the piano and plays a few notes. Chloe and jokingly says the first words when she first met him. She tells Lucifer that they're doing it for Rory's sake, and he says that he doesn't want to leave her. Chloe says that she doesn't want Lucifer to leave, then tells him to close his eyes. Lucifer does so, and Chloe assures him that she's right there even though he can't see her, and she'll always be with him. Chloe jokingly tells Lucifer that he'll miss her musical prowess most of all, and they play Heart & Soul" together on the piano.
Later in Heaven, the angels approach Amenadiel on the throne. They bow to him, He goes down among them and gestures them to rise.
In her lab, Ella looks up and senses God is there. Carol joins her, and then they grow out and greet the young women from Chloe's STEM foundation. Chloe comes in and takes her old desk, after Ella hugs her in greeting. Sonja is also there to welcome Chloe.
Dan is in Heaven, eating out with his vision of Charlotte and having pudding. They kiss.
A pregnant Chloe comes out of her lieutenant's desk and watches the promoted Sonja going over a case in the conference room. Ella and Carol are with Sonja, and Amenadiel joins Chloe and they watch them, then they look at each other and smile. Sonja glances over but only sees Chloe.
At home, Linda and Charlie celebrate Charlie's first birthday. Amenadiel joins them, and Charlie sprouts his angel wings.
Maze and Eve chase down bounties together, then kiss. When the demon gets a call with news, she smiles, passes it on to Eve, and they both hug in happiness. They go to Chloe's house, with Ella and Carol, and Amenadiel, Trixie, and Chloe come home with a newborn Rory. They all congratulate Chloe, who smiles at her family.
Years later, a now-elderly Chloe is on her deathbed. Rory returns from the past and holds Chloe's hand, and she asks how Chloe kept everything in the past inside. Chloe's daughter thanks Chloe for everything she went through for her, and Chloe says that she wouldn't change a thing. She tells Rory that she's going to miss her, and Rory says that she'll see Chloe on the other side. Chloe tells her daughter that it's a date and quietly expires.
In Heaven, Chloe finds herself restored to her adult form and in a white void. Amenadiel arrives and asks Chloe if she's ready to go home. She takes Amenadiel's hand and goes with him.
In Hell, Lucifer is in an office counseling Reese Getty and Vincent. Lucifer tells Reese and his other "patients" that they need to confront their guilt to escape their Hell loops. Reese wonders if it's possible to change, and Lucifer says that he managed to escape his cycle of guilt and debauchery. Lucifer insists that it's possible to change with the help of others, and Reese wishes that he could take it all back. When Reese wonder if he's a lost cause, Lucifer assures him that he's not, and Vincent offers to shoot Reese in the face if he can't. Lucifer figures that Vincent needs some more time.
Chloe arrives and Lucifer is happy to see her. She says that she thought Lucifer could use a partner, and they kiss.
