Warner Bros. Animation will unveil upcoming series “Get Jiro” and “Bat-Fam” at France’s Annecy Intl. Animation Film Festival during its Behind-the-Scenes panels.

In further news, Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe will also present this year’s official Annecy Festival trailer, overseen by executive producer Ben Bocquelet and director Grant Orchard. In 2023, it was announced that the Adventure Time sequel series Adventure Time: Fionna & Cakewould be renewed for a second season following its first season's success. The show takes place after the events of the main show and focuses on a recovered Simon Petrikov (Tom Kenny) as he adventures around the multiverse with Fionna (Madeleine Martin) and Cake (Roz Ryan). Despite not knowing Season 2's release date, one of the show's animators gave a promising update about its production.

Warner Bros. Animation's Animatic Editor, Nick Lomauro, revealed that Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake will wrap production in late May to early June. Teasers and previews for this next installment will soon be shared with the public, but fans could get a glimpse of the show during San Diego Comic-Con, which is set to take place in late July.

Via What's on Netflix, The Legend of Korra was removed from other international territories on Netflix last year and is now planned to depart Netflix’s U.S. streaming roster on April 16, 2025. Trust “Severance” fans to leave no stone unturned.

Ahead of Season 2, Episode 9, “The After Hours,” eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the latest installment of Dan Erickson’s Apple TV+ thriller shares its name with a chapter of “The Twilight Zone” from 1960. TV episodes have the same names all the time, not least due to their sheer volume in existence and common phrases that repeat (Season 1’s “Hide and Seek” shares its title with episodes from “Adventure Time” and “Bluey”) — but something as integral to sci-fi television as “The Twilight Zone” merits further exploration.

“The Twilight Zone” Season 1, Episode 34 stars Anne Francis as Marsha White, a woman searching a department store for a gold thimble when she starts to experience eerie things on its ninth floor. The entire area is deserted and empty of merchandise, except for exactly what she needs. The woman who helps her turns out to be be a mannequin.

The season 3 finale of Invincible is now streaming on Prime Video, and following one of the most hellacious battles we've seen since the animated series premiered back in 2021, we took a trip to literal Hell for a post-credits scene that not even fans of the comic will have been expecting.

Invincible wrapped up its third season in typically violent fashion, with almost the entire episode dedicated to a vicious brawl between Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and a particularly powerful and bloodthirsty Viltrumite known as Conquest.

After almost 30 minutes of brutal battle, Mark is finally able to defeat his foe with some help from his brother Oliver (Christian Convery) and Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). Invincible allows his Viltrumite side to manifest, smashing Conquest's skull in with his own head.

The villain certainly looks dead, but we then learn that Cecil (Walton Goggins) has preserved "the body" so he can be questioned about the movements of the Viltrum Empire.

Japanese anime auteur Masaaki Yuasa, whose rock musical Inu-Oh premiered at Venice, has launched Tokyo-based animation studio Ame Pippin.

The company will aim to be “a place for new opportunities and a fresh creative environment,” according to Yuasa, who is CEO of the new company. No projects have yet been revealed.

The first three episodes of Invincible season 3 are now streaming, and Prime Video has released a brief teaser for this week's fourth chapter, which is said to be a major highlight of this season.

At the end of episode 3, Mark discovers a strange robotic device spying on his family right outside their window, and we see a mysterious figure watching from an unknown location in front of some monitors.

Cartoon Network is responsible for some of the best 1990s cartoons period, but the network's reign of dominance didn't end with the turn of a new millennium. The channel had plenty of holdovers from the previous decade, but more excitingly, it introduced plenty of other great animated series for kids of all ages to enjoy. 

There were absolutely cartoons that dabbled in standalone episodes where you could tune in any week and know what's going on. Courage had new monsters to face while Johnny Bravo was getting himself into all sorts of ridiculous mishaps. However, Cartoon Network also began dabbling with more long-form storytelling. Kids could also watch "Justice League" and partake in a more serious superhero story about governmental overreach. There was something for every palate whether you wanted silly jokes or more high-octane action.

Powerplex: A new villain with an emotional past, Powerplex absorbs energy – letting him use an enemy’s strength against them.

With 283 episodes and an eight-year run, Adventure Time is one of Cartoon Network's longest-running shows — and the adventures of Finn the Human and Jake the Dog remain memorable, even seven years after its finale. Of course, the fact that Adventure Time remains such an iconic animated series raises questions about why it ended after season 10 (and whether it was canceled). From the show's 2010 debut, it was clear there was something special about it, from its complex and entertaining characters to its balance of poignant lessons and outlandish humor.

Characters like Finn, Jake, and even Bmo are still recognizable today, mostly because of how influential Adventure Time was while it was on air. The main protagonists of anime rarely have living or present parental figures, like Eren Yeager’s father, Grisha, or Naruto’s father, Minato. It’s become a noticeable trend that these characters’ tragic stories stem from their parents, either by the loss, abuse, or neglect they faced.

Some of these protagonists go on to become parents themselves and because of the significant lack of parental figures don’t know how to be one. A prime example is Goku. He wasn’t raised by his parents and thus, became a rather absent one for Gohan and Goten.

Despite his absenteeism, he’s not a terrible father. He just had a more passive role in their life since he tends to prioritize fighting and holds the duty of protecting Earth close to him.

Dandadan and Natusme's Book of Friends are both anime that feature yokai and psychic powers. They have drastically different tones and themes that separate them from each other, but there are intentional aspects of both series that stand out. One of the tools both of them use is subversion, even if it can be to different ends. The biggest thing they have in common, though, is how they treat their mascot characters. Turbo Granny starts out as an antagonist and catalyst in the story, only to get sealed in a lucky cat statue. From then on, she joins the supporting cast. Nyanko-sensei (Master Kitty Cat) is a powerful yokai who was sealed in a lucky cat statue for years until Takashi Natsume freed him. He's the second protagonist in the story, and he usually uses his lucky cat form out of habit.

Both of these characters are irresponsible, and arguably inappropriate for their teenage counterparts.
