Don't do it
Draysan-Jennings26 February 2022
The trailer looked ok so I decided to give it a shot. Bad idea! It was a total waste of time. Save yourself the trouble of sitting through this and just take my advice, watch something else. 3 stars.

Help
BandSAboutMovies20 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A painful breakup sends Grace (Emily Redpath) to Liv (Sarah Alexandra Marks) and Edward's (Louis James) country manor. Before she even sets foot in their home, a neighbor (Blake Ridder, who also directed and wrote this) tries to warn her. But about what?

Well, Grave and Edward aren't getting along too well. And Grade wonders, is it her fault? After all, she did sleep with Edwae the last time she was around them. And then she notices the bruises all over her friend.

For a debut movie with three young actors and a director making his first full-length film, Help works way better than it has any right to. It's tense, it has some twists and it tells its story well.

Help definitely needed
orkneyislander5 April 2022
I can only imagine the 9 and 10 ratings are by friends, family or cast. The script and acting are painful. Half the time the actors are walking about like they're in a dream and apparently you need threatening music for no reason just to walk from room to room. Flashback shots are disjointed and take a while to figure out what's going on and that is what they are. The final scenes were more hilarious than dramatic.

Two stars awarded for Grace's stateside boyfriend having the sense to break off at the start of the movie.

Don't bother
connor-8727624 February 2022
This is one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life. There were no redeeming qualities, I watched the whole film in hopes that it would improve but alas it did not. The script and dialogue were beyond painful and they were made worse by a terrible cast. I had really high hopes for this film and I'm sad to say that I was beyond disappointed. This makes films like sharknado look like absolute masterpieces. Avoid at all costs.

Don't pay for this
valviera12 June 2022
I don't think I've actually ever written a movie review before. But I'm so annoyed that I paid to rent this movie after seeing it had a 100% rating that I had to say something. It seriously said it had a higher rating than Summer of Soul. This movie is a 15% at best.

It's slow, predictable, the dialogue is stupid and there's not much redeeming except for the eye candy of the actors and of the gorgeous house where the entire thing takes place.

Please help me heal from this experience by not paying to rent this movie.

If you liked Tommy Wiseau's The Room, you'll love this.
P1234P15 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Such a humongous tone-deaf misstep.

Where to begin? As the film went on and I felt more and more sorry for the actors involved, (except David, the flower eating savant/mentally deranged character) I couldn't help but wonder what colour crayon the screenplay was written in. It was that bad.

One line in-particular, "Strap on this" (you'll have to watch the film to fully appreciate the Tommy Wiseau-ness of this) had me begging for Putin to hurry up and put us all out of our misery.

Poor poor actors. I hope they find happiness in another film.

Garbage

Some of the worst acting I have seen. If for some reason you find yourself watching this, stick with it until the end because once it's finished, any movie you watch thereafter will feel like a Hollywood blockbuster.

It isn't just the acting, the camera angles were also pretty poor. At one point, I thought I was getting vertigo as the camera kept panning from one side to the other, for absolutely no reason.

Far too much talking between the actors, storyline is virtually non-existent, the highlight was when the credits rolled.

The higher reviews must definitely be from family and friends of the cast.

Engaging thriller
malliekhnd18 March 2022
When it comes to thrillers, it needs to grab you from the start. I have to say, this film did not to begin with, but hear me out. It would make sense once you pass the 20 mins mark, to know that all the events before were required to give that ultimate finale.

I see that this is Blake Ridder's debut feature, which proves to be a very bright start for him. A few minor flaws but certainly a film to watch out for.

Yeah, that's a big no from me
MovieCriticOnline1 May 2022
Holy moly it was tooooooo much talking and the scenes went on forever. It went nowhere... It was kinda a tease the whole time of something erotic that never came. Instead it turned in a different direction, but it was typical predictable "horror" twist. And when I finally thought the talking would stop it continued.. again and again.

Plus the amateur production didn't help. It was worse than a TV movie. SKIP!

The prefect blend of psychological thriller and mystery
xlbrsl22 March 2021
I was lucky enough to see this at the Cinequest Film Festival. The film starts off with a deep conversation, then it takes you on a journey that makes you think one thing but it's not that. Great storytelling with some of the most shocking twists I've ever seen. Cleverly all connects up at the end, and it's not your typical ending either. The last 20 minutes of the film will get your blood pumping.

For this to be his debut feature, it's quite impressive. Can't wait for his next film.

Traumatizing for DV survivors
Gainesa094 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this film, but it did take some turns that I wasn't expecting. When watching the movie trailer I had no idea this was going to end up being a movie about domestic violence. I did feel like this film makes a mockery of women who are in abusive relationships. I was emotionally hurt by the twist in storyline of this weird fantasy that women in abusive relationships are really just psychotic, actually self-harming themselves and abusive to the men that they are with when this couldn't be further from the truth. The ending of this movie and the way that abused women are portrayed as liars left me heartbroken. It's not any of the actors fault, they did a great job and the quality of the film was well done, but I wanted to speak on the storyline itself.

Expertly paced disorientating thriller
philbedwell-9600826 March 2021
Excellent direction and misdirection, film score and strong acting combine to form a affecting thriller and a mediation on relationships.

The film keeps you guessing until the end and it's refreshing to watch a film that doesn't guide you how to think or feel nor does it outstay its welcome over a taunt 90 minutes.

Well worth your time. Recommended.

What Is Love? I Am Asked A Question in This Film
lutherdrummond15 February 2022
HELP is not a grand or tinsel film, but realistically focusing on love supposed to be romantic in a beautiful countryside displayed to us by a long take. Thanks to closeup skilfully used by the the director, I can be following a love triangle between Grace, Liv and Edward through their facial expression and feeling their emotions psychologically. The film has my intense curiosity all time with unexpected plot twist, however, the most meaningful point is I am asked a question, what is love? Paradoxically, is it something very selfish, or something need to be morally rational? Perhaps, everybody has a secret, and everybody has a different answer.

I can't believe it's his first feature film
Filmberel17 February 2022
I read that it's Blakes first feature film.... I think people need to give more credit. Blake has done an amazing job. Great cast, it's beautifully shot, the characters have you trying to guess what's going on between them, as you can really feel the tension building in every little moment, the story really ramps up towards the end. I loved it! Give it a watch and support these indie film makers.

What a twist
xuanyanglu18 March 2022
This was something I came across that was recommended by a friend. At first, I thought it was going to be a really poorly made indie. I mean, It is indie but the quality is just beyond my expectations.

I love how Grace's character was portrayed, it is very relatable like from my personal live too. I got really into the film as we followed her journey. The couple's chemistry also show well on screen. Perhaps they date in real life? Who knows. But yea, I loved all the screen chemistry and that cute dog.

Let's talk about the twist, cos it was so well done you don't really see it coming at all. Don't want to give it away though, so watch it and you will see the great ending.

I gotta admit, sometimes I don't go for indie movies, but this one really stood out to me after watching the trailer and I was right. The start was little slow but oh my gosh the end was totally worth it. Really felt the 3 actors and their secrets. Good view,.
