Music overwhelmed the show

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting plot but big plot holes. My kids could have got out of the cabin basement .

The actors would not use 911 at the correct times.

Passable LMN feature - watch for Laurie Fortier's performance
mja5817 April 2021
Rather predictable LMN movie with a particularly good performance by Laurie Fortier.

After seeing this movie, I have the following thoughts:

1. Keep away from abusive spouses.

2. Leave your best friend's kid alone.

3. Take some sedatives if you are tense - don't act out.

Have a couple of drinks and enjoy the movie.

Just...No.
Foutainoflife24 April 2021
A lot of folks like to bad mouth Lifetime movies but for the most part, I find them to be tolerable, "pass the time" type movies. I can usually give them between 4 and 6 stars not this one.

This is just bad acting, bad writing and the music is too loud. The acting is soo, soo, soo bad. Everything is overdone and over exaggerated. I feel like a real trooper for having made it through the whole film.

You've been warned.

Typical LMN
moonwtch17 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie contains a plethora of bad acting ... they might as well have index cards they're reading from! When Chloe hits Mandy and runs out of the basement, why doesn't she close and lock the door? To top it off, then Chloe spends all that time trying to get Mandy's passcode on the phone (that was really stupid) and then when I thought it couldn't get any worse, Chloe makes it into the car, but can't seem to start the car. The entire movie of Chloe being gone the 2nd time is based on Mandy killing her abusive husband .. REALLY!?? This movie was a total waste of time and I spent most of it rolling my eyes.

How did this pass Lifetimes QC?
wyannjameson18 April 2021
First of all, the music is WAY too much and WAY too LOUD. LMN continues to amp up the score of every film they air, but this one is a perfect example of how a movie can be OVER scored. It's almost unwatchable. Producers- are you reading??

Dialogue (as bad as it is here) is going to convey narrative and emotion, not the never ending music. That should be used as a bare minimum supporter, always.

Framing, camera work, direction- everything was less than the acceptable standard on this network.

And the acting-unfortunate. It's a far cry LMNs stand out thrillers. This was simply amateur.

I can't believe I watched it all the way through
lovejoiie8930 May 2021
Just bad acting all around . They should've rehearsed first. Let's not talk about the background music through every scene , I couldn't even hear what they were saying Most of the time. I only kept watching to see how it would end. Wouldn't watch again . 2/10 and that's a generous rating.

Purely Horrible Acting
davmshaw23 January 2022
Lifetime Network seems to be more concerned about releasing as many films as possible, quantity not quality ! Before 2015 their movies were much better.

Also, many newer unknown amateur actors are in the current movies.

Lifetime Network used to have great films with good stories, plots and decent well known TV actors. Ashley Jones was pathetic with the grilled cheese sandwich. That's when I turned it off.

Good, solid suspense thriller
mgconlan-120 September 2021
I couldn't disagree more with the earlier reviewer. I found "Saving My Daughter" to be a tightly knit, fast-moving thriller, well worth seeing, competently directed by Michael Feifer and with a complex script by Michael Perronne that gave even the villains understandable motives for their actions. The film's energy flags a bit after the big revelation two-thirds of the way through, but the plot resolution is effective and believable, and Alicia Hayes Willis as Joanna gives us a powerful performance as a revenge-driven woman. This is Lifetime firing on all cylinders and turning in an exciting and fully believable movie - a real surprise coming from as ordinarily a mediocre filmmaker as Michael Feifer.

Stop the music!!!
windsorenquirer23 April 2021
Maybe, just maybe I would give it 2-3 stars but because of the annoying and irritating way too loud music it's not even worth this one star. I hardly could hear and understand what they were saying at times.

Besides that this movie is sort of "watchable" if one has totally nothing else to do. Also.. unbelievable silly plot.

A big bravo to the cast
As the director of Saving My Daughter I'm proud to say that after several months of hard work, and God knows it wasn't easy, we pulled off such a great masterpiece that everyone can be proud of. A great thanks to all actors and actresses who made that possible and I'm here to announce to our hundreds of thousands of fans that a sequel is on its way and will be released during summer. Thanks to your support the dream of a sequel has now become reality.

To those who haven't watched it yet, guys, gals, you are missing something very special that will profoundly change your life forever. You're gonna become a much different and better person because of it. I'm not making light promises. You will. It's time to watch it. It's time to change your life. My pleasure.

Michael F.

Worse than cheese
nightroses6 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This feels like lifetime movies generally have got worse. The acting is so wooden. The sets are over the top, almost Barbie houses and Barbie dolls. The characters are bland. There isn't any chemistry among the people except the main character, the mother, who seems the most realistic person of all. The kidnapped girl Chloe reaches 18 and vanishes again. She was put in a basement room loaded with tools and a rickety wall full of holes, but never uses any of that to break through the wood frames where she tried calling for help earlier. How she was able to be overpowered by a frail looking villain doesn't make sense. The ending was just so cringe.

Dreadful.. take it off the screens
deborahgregory-5077114 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
How can any network show such utter trash? Someone needs to send the whole cast and writers, directors and producers back to school to learn their trade. The music was corny and awful. The plot was bad beyond words. The script, especially the "talking to yourself" was cringe worthy. The whole lot was totally unbelieable, the characters boring, the drama appalling and the actors.. talk about not knowing your craft at all. I've never been on stage but I suspect I could do at least as well. No father would ever be so calm if their wife rang and said their daughter was missing *again". I think Kyle was the most natural actor and I feel sorry for him having to act in such a poor film. In my opinion this shouldn't even have got as far as Prime Video, where I watched it. It's not the first awful film I've endured and I think Prime should be more serious about showing quality viewing. This is just cheap rubbish that should be taken off.

How did this get 4/5 stars on Prime?
melicos-9762215 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
For some reason Prime had this film as a 4 star out of 5 so I thought ooh I will give it a try really fancy a thriller. OMG this is the most laughable thriller ever. The acting is bad and over dramatic, the plot is so obvious I knew quite early on what would happen. Chloe is such a weak character and the pathetic attempts at escape were unreal! I'm pretty sure she could have overpowered Mandy or broke that door down. Instead this supposedly clever teen cried help pathetically when stook in a cabin in the woods in a room full of stuff I woild have been ransacking!

The film trys to throw you off by a few characters attempts at looking suspicious but they just look stupid. I just didn't buy the story or the emotional responses. Nothing about this film grabbed me at all. I wouldn't watch unless you like wooden acting.
