Dogeza - I Tried Asking while Kowtowing
Tweekums7 January 2021
This series of three and a half minute shorts is centred on Suwaru Doge; a pervert who isn't ashamed to get down on his knees and beg young women to show him their breasts or occasionally there panties... that is it! We don't even see our protagonist; everything is shown from his point of view.

To be honest this anime doesn't have much going for it; there is no plot to speak of and each episode is basically the same... then the reveal is censored. The animation is pretty good and there are a few laughs to be had. The biggest thing going for it is the shortness of the episodes... the only thing that kept me watching to the end. I am glad that I stuck with it as the final episode is genuinely funny, in a slightly shocking way. Overall I'm not sure I'd recommend this but if you start it then decide to drop it I'd recommend skipping to the final episode.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Terrible ecchi
Mysterygeneration13 January 2024
I have my doubts right now. Dogeza: I Tried Asking While Kowtowing. Is the ideal show to watch if you're looking for something quick, dull, and contentious! Now, avoid this show if you detest haphazard, unethical, and terrible ecchi!

Anime series like To Love-Ru and Highschool DxD have had a lasting impact on the ecchi subgenre. This year, there was a lot of ecchi content featured in Dokyuu Hentai HxEros, Peter Grill, and Ishuzoku Reviewers. Dogeza is frequently chastised for using ecchi as a narrative device, but it's vital to remember that ecchi may also be used successfully in other works of art. Dogeza goes beyond the two possibilities by emphasizing the depiction of young people in their underwear on TV and using ecchi as a narrative device. The anime is a translation of a collection of manga with the same name, so viewers do not have to know another language or require subtitles to enjoy it.

What is the point of watching if it is censored. Episodes are 3:30 minutes long and more than 60% of it is intro and outro.
