It's a stand-up act

Steve-o mention this "movie" on his youtube-channel. He had gathered the old gang for something new! And I thought it would be reminiscent of the Jackass-movies or something, but no! Make no mistake, this is a stand up comedy special.

It has a couple "stunts" that are filmed elsewhere, but the rest is Steve-O doing stand-up with a guest thrown in here and there.

But I like Steve-O and Gnarly isn't bad. But if you follow his youtube channel, you've probably heard most of the "stand-up" material before, save the one of two new segments. Some video footage etc.

So yeah. It is what it is. Enttertaining, but far from a revolution of any kind.

A fun hour. For those who like Steve-O

This is a very fun hour of material if you like Steve-O. If you're expecting jackass 4 go somewhere else. It's just him recounting old memories plus some new ones you haven't seen. I really enjoyed it. But I follow him and knew exactly what I was getting. A standup/visual account of stuff mixed together. Which I thought was great.

Underwhelming

I love stevo, but this was so underwhelming. I'd actually looked forward to watching this for a few days and was thinking it's gonna be sick. He basically did 4 stunts the whole thing and 2 of them he had already done before in the past and the rest of it was him telling stories he's told before and showing clips of old stunts he did that you can mostly just find on YouTube for free. I was waiting for something to happen the entire thing and then it ended before I knew it. I was like, was that actually it? I'd researched afterwards to make sure I didn't watch some kind of behind the scenes or something but no, it was the actual movie I'd been hyped about for ages. Really disappointing, please don't spend your money on this

The show's marketing is misleading and already on the site they try to sell you "merchandise". It's not Jackass 4.0 as you could think from the trailer. It's nothing like that. But it is entertaining and empathetic.. and has a couple of nasty new stunts. Maybe the dude has earned this money for amusing us over the years while risking his own health. We need more of these modern clowns.

I love Steve-O but the reason he does this...

He's made it pretty clear it's all for female attention and even in this special you can see how the camera is careful to only zoom in on females' faces, and it's pretty cringe and sad.

He's more than enough of a fun, cool guy without having to constantly risk his health just so some ugly chicks can laugh at him.

I'm genuinely worried, but glad he's made it this long. Just be a comedian, Steve-O, stop acting like the king of beta simps. Doing self-harm to get female validation is ridiculously cringey. Just do comedy, you're good at it.

And if your wife really is enabling you and is attracted to you hurting yourself, then she clearly doesn't love you and you can do way better than some makeup chick who was looking for a bigger star to mooch off of.

Only for the hardcore fans

I think it's great to see Steve come through all the drugs and hard times and be doing some awesome positive y things with his life. His podcasts and animal rights stuff are great and I love all his new content but I can see how it doesn't appeal to many.

Comedian/Stuntman, Steve-O delivering an amazing hour of laughs and "OH NO HE DIDN'T"s. It's *chef's kiss* perfect. I definitely recommend watching the trailer before purchasing though, as it's not for everyone. Lots of 🍆. Great story line. Super fast paced as well, no boring moments. Love it!!!!!!!

Enjoyable, but a bit too much re-used material

If you've read Steve-O's book, watched his other videos or followed him on social media for more than a week, you've already seen 95% of Gnarly. The totally new content amounts to about 5 minutes of footage. He brings a few of his mates out, but they generally just come on stage for a hug then disappear. It's not really comedy, either - it's just Steve-O telling stories. He peppers it with little gags, but it's more spoken word than standup.

Not really worth the $10 USD to stream it. You're better off tracking down a copy of Jackass, Wildboyz, or the absolutely all-time masterpiece CAREER ENDER.

Nothing to see here except cool funny guy with potential behaving like total idiot, giving us cringe moments. Everything is "toilet" here. Nothing funny at all: Idiocracy movie in reality. No kidding. Crowd is horrible for giving standing ovation to almost anything bestial possible.

This is for fans of Steve-O. No doubt. However, his story is genuinely interesting. Regardless of who this is for, you can't deny that this man has come full circle and ended up being one of the most down to earth blokes on this planet. A genuinely inspiring story, with some cringe moments spread throughout (see "the turtle") this is an absolute blast to watch. Through and through.

Maybe not for everyone, certainly not for the faint of heart, but for me, this hour long show flew by.

I am a Steve-O fan. He is the only Jackass member to stay relevant in 2020. He took his life on a different route and now, he is sober but still funny. This "movie" shows exactly who he is now and his nice stand up act. Plus the Jackass gang is reunited! Must watch for Steve-O and Jackass fans.

It's great that Steve O could overcome his addiction and that he's still in showbiz to entertain us. He also added a lot of value to his work by fighting for animal rights and stuff.

But this "movie" is just disappointing. It's like on of his "Don't try this at home" DVDs back in the day. Just without drug fueld parties. It mostly him talking about some crazy stuff he did on drugs (nothing new there - it's all in the MTV documentation about him). And he does a few stunts. The funny ones he already posted a lot of times on YouTube and Facebook. The rest is some self-harming behaviour of him which is not funny at all.

As I see some of the reviews expecting Jackass, this is not. If you would like to see someone attempting to reconcile and embrace, then give it a go. It isnt CKY, its how you stay relevant in a world that doesnt care about you. I understand people want to see the past, but just go look at the footage then. Cheers

Don't Waste Your Time

During this time of massive death and unemployment, people have nothing to do, they're stuck at home, and they are looking for a little something to entertain and take their mind off of the world crashing around them. Steve-O ain't it. Combine a cringy stand-up act with a 46 yr old reminiscing about his 16 yr old self is bad enough.

Was bam pissing on him when strapped to the truck. the rest meh.. dont really wanna look at steves carrot and peas over and over again and the rest was just gross humor. I think a show about the real steve-o would be more interestingly funny than parlor tricks and trying to commit suicide on camera for a laugh.

Next level brutality, next level messed up, and extremely funny

This is a comedy routine where Steve o and many jackass friends do stunts and tell the stories of insanity never seen on a movie before, while the story is being told you see the footage. Now I have herd most of these stories before sense in a huge fan and have done my research however the footage is very much never seen for the most part. The stunts are absolutely disgusting and brutal, the gross out gags are the some of the most revolting things I've ever seen. Make no mistake this movie is absolutely not for casual viewing it makes jackass look like child's play. There's gore, nudity, real footage of graphic drug abuse, broken bones, and very dangerous stunts with the ending being the most horribly painful stunt Steve o has ever done my jaw dropped and I can't even sleep After seeing this because it's so awesome. If the upcoming jackass 4 is anything close to this it's gonna be amazing however this movie is not rated and not officially sold anywhere for a reason and that is the fact that this is essentially all stuff that you can't show anywhere it's that bad and messed up! I don't think an official movie realese can have 90% of the stuff in this special. But for the few fans who have got to watch it like myself we got a real treat here.

I wouldn't bother, go spend your £8 on a second hand Jackass DVD. This film was sold as 'the first time the jackass crew was back together'.... literally for the first 3 minutes of the movie. Fair play to the guy for getting his life back on track etc but he's trying WAY too hard now. There was max 3 new stunts in there, the rest was him just talking about the old stuff he did and telling jokes which even the audience didn't find funny.

Shame, as I was looking forward to this. Better luck next time Steve-O.

DO NOT Watch if You're Queasy

Don't get me wrong, this stand-up special is really funny and entertaining with Steve-O's brand of material. I believe it's ingenious of him to incorporate all of his recorded material pre-and-post YouTube as it makes for good stand-up comedy material.

However, this special is titled Gnarly for good reason. The raunchiness you'd expect from Steve-O and the Jackass crew in general really went up a notch.

Not only does Steve-O redo his bit about swallowing a filled condom and having it exit while on the toilet, but he cranks it up by swallowing it again after it has dried up with whatever fecal matter is on it.

I physically can't watch that part as I nearly vomit myself. If you have a weak stomach, you've been warned.
