A super natural movie with a different plot

A good movie with nice twists.

The movie starts with ideal elements for a fantastic thriller plot. Travels like a horror movie and ends like a sentimental one.

Most of the movie happens in a bus and is related to a hairpin bend on the Ooty hills. Starts like a typical thriller with a death scene at the beginning. Several murder incidents happen on the same day. The director does a great job of building up things and deviates your attention from the main component of the movie.

There was a time when I was sitting confused. I didn't know how this movie is going to travel. I'm usually a person who is successful at guessing things. I was only able to realize what is happening like 20 minutes before the ending. Director manages to keep you thinking.

It might not be a must-watch movie but surely an enjoyable one. The budget constraints are showing up in some visuals. Arulnithi carries himself very well. He is becoming an impressive actor. I am starting like his scripts. The man has a great sense of what good writing is.

Overall, worth every minute of your time. If you're scared of horror movies (like me), don't worry. This one is not very scary.

Supernatural Thriller

A super engaging thriller that keeps you gripped till the end. Typical start with as investigation, bit lagged before the interval, took racily and engaging to the climax. The writing has been done intensely, best for the supernatural but could have done more or skipped the romance, jumpscares, and comedy parts. The emotions have been well done and loved the way he has connected everything. Though some scenes were predictable, the twist at the end was perfect, making us forget the flaws in the first half. Arulnithi's performance was top and the soundtrack was at its best, which made it intense in many scenes, yes the cinematography was good too. Color grading and Visual Effects could have been done more better. I loved the way Innasi Pandian made the script. Overall it's a good watch.

Diary is added to one of the serious mystery thrillers in Tamil cinema. The thread here is little complicated, but well potrayed. But it's not perfect or a great one. Flaws like action, unnecessary romantic events of hero and the lead actress, not so funny comedy scenes etc. But even in these negatives, what keeps the movie engaging is the thrilling element in the story. The movie is basically narrated as a rookie inspector of police being assigned to a crime case which happened 16 years ago in the vast areas of ooty. But the unthinkable events happens towards the interval of the movie and can be said that the movie actually picks the real pace from there only. Acting performances felt like average from everyone including arul nidhi. Decent VFX works as well. But still, the story backs all these flaws in the movie. The makers has put the effort not to confuse thr audience in the huge number of events and they were successful in doing that. A good watch. Go for it.

Superb thriller ghost story

Diary - The best suspenseful thriller film, starting of the film to ending scene was fully suspense and we can't able to react in any situations Nice story. We can't guess the genre of the movie. Suspense every minute. Arulnithi bro acted very well. Everyone acted well. Climax the thief character shows sad emotion was good. Director made a right choice of hero for this movie. Arulnidhi perfectly did justice to his role. I love this movie very sentimental and mysterious movie. Congratulations Mr. Innasi pandyan for making wonderful movie. Congratulations to Mr. Thanikai VJ the thief character you did well boss. My best wishes to all cast and crew.

Decent

Decent Supernatural mystery thriller . Story was quite intresting but screenplay was weak . In First half , story takes it's own time to build with too many unwanted stuffs ( over detailing ) . Second half was good and intresting with some good twist and turns . Few jump scares worked . Technical wise , camera work and editing was poor . Comedy scenes in few places worked and few didn't , actually comedy was forced in most of the places , literally irritating . Performance wise , few casts done good job and some were overdramatic and amateurish . Overall , decent watch ...................................................

"Felt like reading a gripping novel"

Such a wonderful suspense thriller. While the story was taking its own shape in the 1st half, the 2nd half of the story brought me to the tip of my seat, traveling back and forth in time and connecting the dots with the unexpected twists was mind blowing. Especially when it kept all of us thinking where did this guy disappear with the bag? The role was really well played by actor Thanikai, which indeed brought us to tears with his emotions. Kudos! To the entire crew..The best part was, watching a good movie which was well narrated. My dad while he walked out, was reminiscing each and every scene and finally said this with satisfaction "oru nalla novel padicha feeling"

Good thriller to watch with some good theme

The core theme is really impressive one. They took more than enough time to introduce each character. Still it was so beneficial when the core theme get unfolded.

The horror factor and some scare moments are presented very well, especially the ticket checker sequences. Watch it with some good sound effect.

At the same time the movie looks more dragged and lost its narration on the love Jodi elope and marriage sequences. The entire bus sequence was awesome except this marriage flow.

Some of the fight sequences and songs could be easily avoided. The climax is bit over the top.

Superb thriller with engaging elements

Well written script and very well executed screenplay with perfect emotions. From beginning to the end you will feel the seat edge thriller moments.

Director doesn't reveal the plot until the climax its very different and we can't guess it.

Music and BGM was very apt and clear. Movie is visually chill and the plot is based in Ooty.

All the characters in the movie done their part very well. Even the comedy elements works well.

The Bus dues the main role in the movie. Really the camera angles and the VFX inside the bus was superb.

Totally very superb execution. Congrats to the team Diary. Actress pavitra does her part very well.

Ok type.. lots of loopholes

NEITHER BAD NOR AMAZING MOVIE

Concept was thrilling but the truth unveil was very poor. Many loop holes are there. Many unnecessary comedy and heroism was there which could be altered.

Screenplay could have been better. Writer is best but again the unveil of truth could be more better.

Wrong time comic scenes are there which could be avoided.

Watched the movie but due to the loopholes lot of questions in mind still there.

I feel director could improvise in a better way before releasing. I am not saying it is bad movie but the expectations were very high and the truth unveil resulted poor.

Hope to see more better contents in near future.

This movie is a poorly executed one.

Excellent actor Kishore is wasted. The other one wasted is the Actress from Nakkalites!

The usually wooden face Arulnidhi turns out to be the best actor in this movie! Almost every one else acted poorly.

The dialogues are right out of an adolescent with poor social skills! There is no depth in any of the dialogues. Even the one whether mother talks about the struggles of bringing up a child as a single parent! Come on! It is a child's play!

I am really surprised about the high rating in IMDB!

I went with the IMDB rating to watch the movie and was betrayed! I would have avoided if I knew about this!

Silent thriller - always Arulnithi movies

I like Arulnithi movies for his silent thriller acting... while other heroes are engaged with their commercial movies... Arulnithi always give silent yet superhit movies... That's Arulnithi's style which I like more... In diary one guy surprised me with his emotional acting... who literally made me cry in the climax scene...nobody can match mother's love,it has been beautiful portrayed in this movie... Hey Thanikai you did a great job man, Loved your acting... You have a great future ahead... I wish to see you in more and more movies ... Best wishes for all your upcoming projects - ur new fan.

Bus Route 375 is a True story

Arulnithini once again chose an amazing script, i wonder how he choses his scripts they r very unique from the other movies. This movie starts as an horror movie and leaves you with amazing thriller suspense ride in the end. Story is really mind blowing, cinematography is really good and VFX part is also good. Acting wise everyone performed well🔥. The story has been adapted by real life based incident happened in China "The Bus route 375" till now no one has ever solved the mystery behind it. Director built an amazing story using a small concept and gave some amazing suspense in the movie.

They could've dragged a bit more and built few elements in the plots.

A must watch movie for Thriller lovers.

Disappointing fare.

If you are like a new viewer to supernatural/suspense movies,then there is a slight chance you might like the film. But if you have seen at least some foreign supernatural/suspense movies,then you are in for a big disappointment.

The film starts out nicely with a young fresh sub-inspector recruit selects an unsolved murder case from 16 years ago as his first assignment and the story shifts to Ooty,where the murder had happened.

But after some 30 mins,the story entirely shifts to a bus,where passengers board from various points and their back-stories.

After introducing some cliché characters and some interesting characters,finally the hero enters the bus.

What happens to the bus and everyone in it forms the crux of the story.

The problem with the film is that,after you get to know the suspense in the film(which the filmmakers present you in a plate at some halfway down the film),the film is excruciatingly tiring to watch.

And to top all this,everything is again explained to you ,as spoon-feeding a baby at the end of the film,which will make you pull your hair out.

And as an icing on the top,they introduce a back story to the protagonist connecting all this and that was the final nail in the coffin for me.

My advice: Skip this film and save yourself some 2 hours.

Supernatural Thriller

Diary is fantastic thriller movie with strong emotions.

Director InnasiPandian did amazing job in his first movie.

Excellent screenplay. It was so engaging from the beginning with tricks and turns

Music is amazing. It drives us to enjoy the thrilling moment . Songs are very pleasant to hear with the flow. Especially the BGm in second part holds the movie.

Everyone performed their roles perfectly.

Arulnithi looks perfect for the cop character. Comedy workouts well.

The climax is so heartbreaking and Thanikai's performance in the song is very emotional.

Overall, Diary is an enjoyable family thriller.

Excellent triller movie...kept to seat edge... everyone played their role nicely expecially the climax...acting of Thanigai in climax is very nice.... Totally its a hot blooded one....love it...the bus sequence was good and angle of camera place an important role on that.... Much interested on watching a nice thriller after a long in Tamil cinima.... Arulnidhi acting is good......climax is just amazing....and thanigai to be specially congratulated for his acting......... Special congrats of the director innasipandiyan for his hardwork wishes for his upcoming projects....congrats for the team..

An All Time Best Mystery Thriller

Waited eagerly after watching the intriguing trailer and watched this movie FDFS at PVR. What an amazing experience. The director nailed it with an unusual story line and an extraordinary characterization. It is a great learning for a budding filmmaker like me. One could learn, how to make an extraordinary film with a limited budget and normal cast and crew.

I admire the characterization of a few particular characters in this movie.

1. Antagonist - Arulnithi 2. Heroine - Pavithra 3. Car Sathya - Thanikai

Giving importance to hero and heroine is quite common but the way he has designed Car Sathya character is unique. Thanikai (Have seen him in Isaiaruvi multiple times as a program host in many shows) has done justice to the role especially in the climax. No one in the theater could move without getting tears in their eyes.

Complete credit to the debut director Mr. Innasi and team.

Producers must need special mentions for choosing this type for plot that take the Tamil movie making to the next level.

Reg Giant has been a great plus for this movie that did much needed promotions.

Watching multiple times in Aha now.

a different thriller

A Tamil film based on the bus 375 concept.

Definitely has a unique plot to Tamil cinema and it is quite intriguing enough to keep you held throughout the film.

The screenplay though was engaging enough, looked a bit confusing, and with a mix of useless mockery/comedy-tryout-kinda dialogues makes the entire film look weak, otherwise, it would've been a decent thriller.

The entire film being filmed just inside the bus drives us to boredom little by little which could've been easily avoided and the detailing of only certain characters in the bus didn't feel quite interesting.

Still, there are many twists/suspense element revelations that keep you hooked almost in their entirety

music/BGM, actors' selection, and dialogues could've been done better.

Overall, it's a one-time watch for sure as it compels us to watch with a totally new/uni plot.

I liked the twist n turn .. In the bus most of them r died before itself n Bus once again comes in Feb 29 thats on leap year director vera level ... Regular Tamil movie fan recommended to watch this many times. So I watched this. There are some good movies in tamil cinema like Vikram vedha, Ratsasan ,Pariyerum Perumal,etc . But this is pure nonsense. Anybody can create a plot like this within 1minute. There are so many plot holes too. At least no realistic emotional parts (which every tamil movie has). Plot is too childish. Good for kids.

I don't know why people here mentioned this tells this is a great movie, masterpiece etc. May be they only watch movies like this. There are 1000ds of great movies anybody can easily find. I have watched many and I was unable to find good movies easily now. So I just started to try out tamil and malayalam cinema. Yes there are good movies in tamil cinema like the one I mentioned earlier. But this is just the worst I ever watched.

Conclusion: if a Tamil movie has less than 8 imdb rating It's probably a bad one.because these tamil fans always overrate movies like this on IMDB.

Best ever thriller ghost story

Movie is awesome arulnithi acted very well. I am marvel fan watch only marvel movies in theatre but nowdays i watch arulnithi movies on theatre because he choose best diffrent script movie. Cgi was little bad. But acceptable. Great movie. Lets see can director get new script for part 2 continuation. Waiting for demonte colony 2.

Everyone acted well. Nice story. Everyone on theatre enjoy the movie.

Arulnithi bro should improve on emotional side because climax the thief character shows sad emotion extrodinary. Arulnithi bro should improve emotion side only for better growthbin cinema.

Great horror thriller

As I'm a horror movie lover I love this movie a lot and really unexpected twist with bus. Especially the climax leap year twist and the surprisingly with mother sentiment was awesome. Arul nithi as usual very decent perfomance and great attitude and The actor thanikai has done good job in the end.

Director innasi pandian has written a great horror script and it's very much new to tamil cinema. We've watched a lot like these stories in Hollywood only . So the gap has been filled by Diary movie . And also the movie background score is much notable one.

The characters are very clear and attachable with scripts well.

the artists and actors also acted very well ,,, a movie with a very fresh storyline,,,, keep working we are waiting for the next work,,,,

I want to give advice please make a special application for Indian movies so that we can watch in our country Indonesia if we have to pay we are very willing,,,

we don't want to miss Indian movies, especially the latest movies,,,

special comment for arulnithi actor,, the movies are horror mystery thriller genre in my opinion so far it has never failed,,,

the acting is also pretty good,,, waiting for the next movies hopefully always success,,, thanks you.

Funny Horror Movie

Very funny story. It's not a thriller. It's just a funny horror movie. Totally waste of time.

The story is very slow, producer just pull the simple story to big. How can the police department believe and go behind the horror bus.

At the last part the sub-inspector arrested the local MLA without any evidence, hah very funny. He doesn't have any evidence. He only has a photo of the MLA daughter with her newly married husband on the horror bus. The officer goes to arrest the MLA only with this picture. No logic! That picture isn't a evidence. I don't know why people giving 10 out of 10 stars to this funny film.

Actor Thanigai also done fabulous acting

A sub inspector trainee Varadha Arulnithi gets an opportunity to choose an unsolved case as his training assignment. It is about a honeymoon couple who were brutally murdered and robbed in a hillside resort 16 years ago He stumbles upon certain leads that take him closer to the suspects

The emotional quotient in the climax sequence works and answers all our questions with clarity. Arulnithi does a convincing job

The cinematography and background score really help the makers to create that gripping feel they are after. Diary is an interesting read with engaging chapters.

A very engaging thriller!!

Very engaging movie with all elements upto the mark.. The cinematography and the background score and editing are biggest pillars for this film.. Nail biting suspense till the end.

Director has given his best and all the actors have done great job. It doesn't look like a debut film of the director.. Arulnithi and Pavithra have done what is needed for the film. Suspense, horror and emotions are perfectly mixed. Arulnithi has kept up the expectations for his script selection.

The final climax scene with actor Thanikai will definitely bring tears.. Comedy with actor Sha Ra has worked well. That little girl also has done a great job. Overall a very nice movie.. !!
