Average 2.5
This is one of the most boring series with horrible scenario and weak directing. Episodes are 2.5 hours with flashbacks, slow motion and bad texts. Grandmother cries non stop is another horrible directing. Some of the younger actors and actresses are wasted with horrible direction. 60's movies were better.
Charming story, but...

The series started well and it really hooked me. However, the last two were botched. Overnight Sibel became the black box that knows all the secrets. Also, the old man that Djamal imprisoned in the psychiatric hospital did not appear and he was supposed to be Kadir and Selahattin's dad.

I admit i'm a romantic by heart so this series is right up my alley. I really like the main actors from previous work they've done and there is good chemistry between Kadir and Ailyz. Looking forward to see how the story is going to unravel
Not a typical churn out 'love pairing' relationship drama

My heading highlights the point that this coupling, Kadir and Alyse have come together by kismet.....a Destiny principle. Therefore once they meet from being and doing different life things, that coupledom is confirmed, we have no doubt about that therefore the story doesn't traipse throught he same-old, same-old on and off again lover tropes. In this one, the pair find they came into the world in midst of aftermath of the 1999 huge Istanbul earthquake, and that underpinning is the cause of the 13 episodes' focus.....who is actually connected to who, and a particular character very well cast, is known to the audience as a master manipulator.....whilst the extended families are unknowingly living lies of one style or another.
I did wonder why the commercial ratings didn't allow the show to extend beyond 13 episodes; which suits me. I'm quite over the looooong, draaaawn out nonsense that ruins too many diziler.
I thought the casting was good; I don't agree with some that 49yr old Ozcan Deniz is too old! The title "I've Waited For You So long" spells out that aspect. And the Alyse character comes into the story with her own confused past life, and need of healing amongst her quest for accuracy regarding to whom, and where does she belong.
As a couple they portray tenderness in their love to a very pleasing degree. The writing is quite tight and I found that the ends of the episodes had me impatient for the next unfolding. In fact, the style is almost of the 'thriller' genre.
The cinematography is excellent. I noted somewhere that filming was in the Gulf states, not as usual for dizi - in Istanbul.

It's a really interesting series. I'm not sure why there's so low ratings given here. I've been deferring to watch this series because of the low ratings. The series came out with English translation on YouTube and I've been seeing good comments there. So, I decided to watch and am so glad I did. I'm at episode 4 and am giving this series many thumbs up! It has very deep soulful romance, mystery, murder, family matters and a superb cast with good acting skills. It's also fast paced. The only issue I notice is the big age gap between the male and female leads. It would have been a more believable story if the age gap is not so big. Sometimes it's painful to watch because the age gap shows physically and in mannerisms. But the story is so good and the acting as well such that I'm indeed enjoying the series. I must also mention that the music and song are hauntingly memorable.
nice

Great series

Ozcan Denis and Ilhan Sen are great in this series. Their acting is amazing as always. It is not your typical love story which made it interesting. It is a true fairytale. I'm not sure why the ratings were low, but I predict it was due to the 17 year age gap of the main couple. I'm glad I watched this series and gave it a chance. The love between the main couple is amazing to watch in each episode. It is a sad story about the lost of family and reconnection over many years. Give this series a chance and you will not be disappointed. Do not let the low ratings deter you from watching this series.
